I doubt that another elite group would be created simply to use the Commando armour.

We have various squads, I see no reason to limit the ARC's to just one squad.

And for those that do want to work on more than one squad and have the time, what of them?

For the ARC team to not be fully complemented yet and for their "highly selective" process to turn round and tell hard working troopers like myself they aren't "deserving" enough is a kick in the teeth to be brutally honest,

ARC isn't an Elite Squad. It's just extra, and slightly more serious. And Alan, it's really not all that it's cracked up to be. I would know, I "participated" in it for two generations. This is the first time it's been successful, and if history repeats itself it'll die soon. Your best bet is just to remain active like you are and keep looking for something to do. The answer doesn't have to be a second squad.

There are lots of people "worthy" of being in ARC that aren't. It's in no way a reflection of how you're doing, Alan - or anyone that thinks that ARC is the place to be. Your main focus is with your Squad, and the best you can do is to make it legendary.

Kanderin, no offense, but that last comment to me reads that I don't have the commitment to do both.  Yes I will always be primarily focused on Paladin, always have, always will but to suggest that I couldn't do both is offensive.

When the broad spectrum of the Army expands in member count, perhaps there may be more ARC squads.

I started with a squad of 5 because that is what I was given to work with.  Not because I just decided, “Oh I am gonna use 5 instead of 6.”

I never said that, and I appreciate if words were not put in my mouth.  You aren’t necessarily ‘deserving’ enough but more that others ‘deserved more’ there is a HUGE difference.


Garet is somewhat right on the ‘elite’ perspective.  We don’t take the ‘Elite’ title that squads can earn.  We are something else, a collection of members that pursue advanced level missions with more complex plotlines generally.  We employ a higher standard writing than a ‘regular’ squad.  We expect a little more attention to detail, realism, Star Wars knowledge, as well as overall quality.


And yes Kand, we do state that if normal squad activity drops significantly we will get our shiny black boot out after the warning system plays out.

As for individual cases as to why you are not in, please talk to me PERSONALLY.  I respect people who bring there issues with me directly to me.  Not throwing them out in the open or through a third-party.


Anyways, my little rant there is over. Back to ARC.

Forgive me for jumping back to a topic, I am too lazy and frustrated at the moment to scroll up and edit it into the more appropriate spot.  Elite squad is a title assigned to ‘normal’ squads through a competition.  ARC has absolutely NO ability to compete for that.  We are ‘extra’ and are, as the name suggests, ‘advanced’ in terms of quality and expectations.  At this time we are dormant, yes, but most of us are unable to contribute in a significant amount at this time.
