NPC Squads

I was thinking that we can have like a NPC platoon that we can use during missions without necessarily getting them all killed. For example we could have volunteers create the bios for the troopers, and have someone detailed to "create" new troopers to replace the fallen.
Also at the end of a mission where a NPC squad is used the SL needs to send a PM to the person in charge of the NPCs saying the fallen and what not.
Kinda like make them a "real" squad if this idea gets the green I volunteer to help maintain the squad.

actually while I was gone I thought about the VE and was trying to think of ways to better it and make it more fun, kinda hard to feel like your in a war without having friends dying, and since we cant just kill the active members in our squads how do you kill a "friend" without making some one elses like hell? you create one.

I had this idea a while ago, and was thinking about using it in an upcoming story. Like, each member of my squad would create and would be responsible for a member of an accompanying, NPC squad that came from another platoon. They made short bios, gave them a unique personality, and then dragged them into the mission. Then they could basically do whatever the heck they wanted with that character.
I mean, c'mon...in a Star Destroyer alone there are over 9,000 storm troopers. We make up four squads of that. There has to be more troopers out there fighting the same war as us.
I think it could work...

the general idea was that in the roster there would be a NPC company with a NPC commander, full with NPC squads. The NPCs are created by volunteers and are "managed" by them. A SL might request a NPC squad for assistance and at the end of the mission.
Now I realized it would be unfair for someone to kill a NPC and let someone else create one, so I think that if you should write the post that kills the NPC you create a trooper to replace him and tell the volunteer complete with BIO.

And require a better bio as a replacement, which would help prevent overkill of NPCs and allow the better developed NPCs to give more dimensions to stories for a longer period of time... I can see this happening now...

On the contrary, having something more to write about leads to more activity on your part. More activity seen = promotions/medals.

What's this word.. "realism." Sounds like fool tripe to me. We need more supertroopers who can kill an entire platoon of soldiers with our side taking no casualties. YEAH!
OK, yeah, that was a joke. Realism is awesome in a post. Makes it so much better to read. As for the NPC squads, I like the idea. It's nice for when squads may want to do a "larger" scale story, but not with another squad. Then they can just use a NPC squad and work with them.
