Kanderin is right.I think that you have just as much guts and bravery,if not more,than anyone else here.I would never have known that you were blind and even if I knew you were,i dont mind.I know some blind people and Ive seen first hand how difficult it canbe. |

Well for one, the white lettering helps alot. I have a built in magnifier that doesn't work that well on my computer. It distorts everything. But i still manage to read. I only use it sometimes because of it's disadvantages. Most of the time I will make my face go up to 10 cm away from the screen.
My dad bought me a huge screen well... it's not that big. About 14 inches .
I plan on getting a special computer. And for Specilaties I enlarge the format up to 18 0r 20 and shrink it back to 10 when I'm done or to check if it does 2 pages. -----------------------

Guess what guys, the bus company is gonna do something to help the blind because there are some blind people who missed their stops because the drivers forgot to call out their stops.
The project is supposed to cost 8 million.

Well....some brand-new GPS systems will be installed in the buses. An onboard computer will then use the information that the gPS gives it to call out stops. so that the drivers don't have to.
The plan is supposed to be set osmetime in 2008 I think. So it will make their jobs easier in a way, and we will all know where our stop is in my city. i don't know if they will change the plan, I hope not.
I guess we'll just have to wait and see. -----------------------

Do you do sports? I tried skiing blind once (they put a blindfold over my eyes) as an outreach experience when I was in high school. I sucked, but you might do better since you live with your condition on a daily basis.
Pretty much if there's anything you want to do you could do it. Minus flying airplanes, that is one thing you can't do Im pretty sure. Its really up to you Senior Crewman Gunnay

I played "regular" soccer for four years with people like you guys. And yes, I could fly an airplane. A while ago in the city newspaper there was this article about a man who was blind as a bat and who flew an airplane . He covered more than 600 mies with it. Hey Lucky, they have a similar bus system implemented on one of the bus companies here in North York (northern "subsection" of Toronto). There are four bus routes using the system where an automated voice says "Next stop: ...." about a minute before the bus stop. It's actually pretty convenient for everyone too (I've seen people dozing off in the mornings, though they are probably light enough sleepers to hear their stop). Well..I hope they buy the system and start using it her Tom. that was pretty much a golden rule Andre. But bus drivers didn't follow it which resulted in a couple blind people missing their stops and writing up complaints to the bus company and the transportation agency. well theoreticlally within 50 years surgery really wouldn't be a risk and even if you don't have healthcare you could still get a surgery, and with the future bring more jobs! For the Empire!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
