That's right, Antarctica! I need some ideas for a research project to do there. I have one, but really want to narrow it down a little.
Basically what I want to do with my partner is do some form of Astronomy there, maybe get a few telescopes and do some astro-photography. But I need some "excuse" why this needs to be done in Antarctica so I can get a $300,000 grant 
Any suggestions will be welcomed, some might be rewarded with ICs

I did ask the people issuing the grant that, it is not a "single reason to pursue astronomical research in Antarctica"  -----------------------

Global warming caused by the heat from gamer's video card.
I could say check for ashes to calculate the next big explosion since ice is a good preserver... but that's too expensive for a 2 men project.

Something about studying stars from a perspective that the majority of people don't get the chance to do? Maybe say that studying the stars from down there might reveal some not found yet? :P I dunno. It'd be cold down there anyways. -----------------------
