"Heads down!" Darr-Ran screamed over the echoing explosions. Raiders squad fell to the snow, heat washing over them as the energy mortor's salvo slammed down into the trench in front of theirs, vaporizing the unfortunate soldiers who manned it.

"Forward!" Darr-Rann called out, making a forward gesture with his left hand. "We've gotta hit that bunker!" The squad ran up the trench and down the next, soldiers from previous trenches following them to fill the position left by those slaim just moments ago. Red blaster bolts tore through the air from both sides, accompanied by the explosions of artillery strikes, portable missiles, and grenades. Overhead, a flight of three LAATi flew by, One of which was moments later hit by anti-air cluster missile, crashing down into an enemy line and sending fiery debri flying like shrapnal into others.

Ahead, admist the enemy trenches, sat a bunker. It was made of quick-drying concrete, formed from a template. Inside was their target: An enemy field computer system with a line in to the install an access point to the enemy TacNet.

Rogueboy took a graze shot from a stray bolt in the side, and Hard Hardt took a hit against his left pouldron, blackening were it hit but not managing to meet flesh as it was scored indirectly. It was a sign As they were getting closer to the enemy lines, shots were getting more accurate.

They reached a particularly deep trench and ran down, when suddenly a nearby soldier screamed and pointed his hand in the air. Darr-Rann looked up just in time to see the mortor bolt crash down upon them...

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Damn, that came out of nowhere." Leon grumbled, "We were going to win that one, I guarantee, if that damn mortor hadn't picked us off." They were talking away from the simulated training center. It was the first time they had run a sim in a while In fact, the first time since the death of Mak'Tur Josu.

Darr-Rann's comlink beeped. He switched it on, to be greeted to an unfamiliar voice. "Senior Sergeant Darr-Rann?"

The squad leader paused for a moment, then answered, "Speaking."

"This is Lieutenant Santorini, Vast Empire Intelligence division. Your squad needs to meet in briefing room 12b in our offices at 16:00 hours to discuss your next mission." The man said, closing his link to the channel. Darr-Rann put his comlink away.

Vast Imperial Intelligence...

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The room was cold, with metal walls, flooring, and ceiling. The squad sat in the hard metal benches at one side of the room, and the lieutenant stood at the other by a desk, digging through a briefcase. He found what he was looking for, a datacard, which he inserted into a slot on the desk

"Welcome." Santorini said, clasping his hands together. "Now that your all here, I suppose it's time you get some information." He pressed a key, and an image projected onto the wall opposite to were the squad sat.

"This is Garra the Hutt." The lieutenant said, gesturing towards the projected image. The picture was of an alien, grotesque in appearance, line an obese worm. "An aspiring crime lord, he controls only the desert world of Elden, a resourceless and tactically unimportant world just a few systems from the edges of Vast Imperial space.

"Normally we wouldn't pay much attention to a guy like this. We've been negotiating stoppage of his occasional raids on private Vast Imperial ships, and things seemed to have been going well. Except, ten days ago, he made a bit of a foolish move He kidnapped two of our operatives. Negotiations to free them have gone nowhere, and we've decided it's time we launch a bit of a rescue operation.

"You will be brought to Elden, dropped via LAATi, and walk to Garra's facility. We would normally drop you at the site, but he's gotten some pretty heavy anti-air weaponry set up from the black market. The closest we can drop you without being shot or detected is about twenty five hours of walking away, so you're going to have to camp out there.

"Your mission is to rescue the operatives, more information about which will be given to you on the way to Elden. You are also to take out Garra, or any other member of his council, if you have the opportunity and it does not risk compromising the mission. Your loadout is up to your squad leader. Your ship launches from the military port from space 32-b at 14:00 tomorrow. Good luck." Santorini concluded. With that he walked out, not bothering to see if anyone had any questions. Darr-Rann got up and stretched.

"We'll go with A280s, Dl-44s, Desert Gear and Supplies. Bring whatever specialty specific gear you need, but nothing too big. We dont need to be hauling an eweb across a desert. Your dismissed, make sure you have your gear ready to go for launch tomorrow."

Not a great opener post, but the new story is finally up! Write some pre-flight posts, then we'll take off. Let's make this another good story

Raider Squad advanced, mostly ignoring the screams of the hit and the fallen. As a squad of three "larty" gunships flew by, a NR trooper let a RPG round off, which struck a LAATi, sending it plumeting down to the ground. Its explosion sent shards of metal and transparisteel flying through the air, implaing those unlucky enough to be within eight meters of the downed gunship. Screams like those of the damned filled the icy air as the snow melted in billowing gusts of steam, condensing in the frigid cold, and running along the bottom of the trench, which was stained red with the blood of the previous defenders. Sayah looked up, firing his E-11 as he did so. The last thing he saw before the sim went black was a round heading towards him with a deafening whistling noise as it did so. Disgusted, Sayah slammed his training "weapon" into the shelf. He felt he should have moved away from the heavy artillery. Instead, he had been blasted into a thousand virtual pieces of gore. His only consolation was that the rest of Raider Squad had joined him in the virtual afterlife seconds after he had been terminated.

In the barracks ten minutes later, Sayah was inspecting his E-11 for damage when he heard the order to report for a briefing and fell into line with the rest of Raider Squad. He listened with a growing sense of disquiet, tempered with disgust at the suicidal greed of Hutts .However, Hutts, although often greedy, were not foolish and Garra would probably be expecting uninvited visitors.  On the other hand, their vehicle for the mission, an LAATi gunship, was fairly sturdy and reasonably fast. In a way that was even more cause for concern, because if the bloated sack of filth could muster up that much firepower, what did he have against ground based assaults? Sayah twirled his DC-15 pistols before replacing them in their holsters, concerned but not panicky.
Back in the barracks, Sayah was suiting up with the rest of Raider Squad. He shoved a new power pack into his DC-17 and was glad to hear the all-too familiar whine of the weapon, which was popular among the elite of the GAR, recharging. He put on the legs first and then the rest of the armour. He paused at the right forearm and decided to leave it off, instead tightening the connection area, as his artificial right forearm had built in, although concealed, weaponry and could probably take as much of a beating as the armour itself. There was some danger of clogging parts and "frozen" joints, so Sayah left the elbow armour intact. Performing a check for carbon scoring on his weapons and limb, Sayah was anticipating an unpleasant struggle. The Hutt probably would have foreseen the arrival of a rescue mission and if  he hired large squads of elite mercenaries, as several of Sayah's bounties had in the past, then things could get hairy. Sayah tightened his fist and was gratified by the "Ka-chunk" noise his artificial arm made, as a small vibro-knuckler slid out. Slowly, he picked up his helmet and listened to the sound of the audio and visual systems booting up. Standing there, in the barracks, Sayah was as close to contentment as he could get outside of combat or flight.

Namyr hated the feeling of sweat rolling down her neck and down her back, particularly during a mission. The Ryloth raise Twi'lek still wasn't use to the almost tropical temperatures that her armour sometimes rose to while they were running. Slinging the rifle to her shoulder Namyr took aim at one of the enemy, and it took a couple shots before she hit it, but she did it, which meant she was getting better at least. A first Namyr had felt betrayed as Darr ordered her to use only blasters during training, due to having the lowest score during the yearly shooting cycle at the blaster range. His reasoning was that she was a Sargent now and had to act the part for the lower ranking soldiers. Begrudgingly, Namyr had done so, at first with silent and jerky movements she had let Darr know that she wasn't happy using a blaster. It was clunky, heavy, and unreliable, but after a while Namyr had started getting use to it, but a blaster could never replace Namyr's loved blades. Particularly since she had made Sargent she had special ordered an expensive pair of Twi'lek Dancing Blades, which had taken her a month to sharpen to perfection under heat and using a special stone only found in the deep caverns of Ryloth.

Namyr threw herself to the ground as Darr's voice yelled into her head-piece, over the softly playing music of her music pod. Another guilty pleasure of hers was modifying her helmet to hold the small device. It played loud enough to hear, though low enough if she needed to speak to someone they couldn't hear her music. Mostly it was for background sound and help calm Namyr's nerves and temper, which Rogueboy often teased her about her 'Twi'lek Temper,' after a bar fight, or even after she punched him after an inappropriate comment.

Namyr climbed to her feet, glancing left and right at Rogueboy was hit, as well as Hard Hardt, who Namyr had started calling HH, for the basic reason that if all the guys could call her Nams, then she could give a nickname to someone else. Though the flurry of curse words she used for Rogueboy's nickname didn't count. Namyr fired a couple more shot, missing everyone before she heard a faint whistle and looked up in time to see the mortar. She let out a single curse before the program ended with a blur of colors. Namyr felt her stomach churns as she fought to keep her breakfast.

"Damn, that came out of nowhere." Leon grumbled, "We were going to win that one, I guarantee, if that damn mortar hadn't picked us off," Namyr managed a pale chuckle as she took deep breaths and pulled off her helmet, glad to have a cool breeze against her red skin and Lekku. She then stood up straight and looked at Darr who appeared to be speaking on the comlink as the squad was walking away from the training room. Namyr stretched her arms towards the ceiling and figured it was another mission. She wasn't too worried, Darr would tell them once he got all the information.

"Alright Squad meet back here at 1500, we have a mission at the Vast Empire Intelligence office, don't be late or you'll be scrubbing toilets for the next year," Darr said and Namyr had to smirk as she headed off to her apartment to get ready.

A couple hours later Namyr found herself sitting on an uncomfortable bench in between Rogueboy and Leon, her arms crossed and her helmet settled on her lap as she listened to instructions. Suddenly Namyr body tensed as she heard the name and saw the face of thier target, "This is Garra the Hutt," the Intel guy spoke. Namyr hands were clenched into fists as she recognized the Hutt. The scar over the beast's eye was all to familiar to Namyr as she recalled the rectched worm as he came to collect her sister Cerine because of her parents debt to him. Namyr hadn't seen or hear from her sister in years, but she still felt the anger of the day Cerine had been taken away, screaming for help and her parents not lifting a hand, even holding back Namyr herself to keep her from trying to help her sister. Then again she could be grateful that they weren't sending her in as a decoy to open the door. Namyr smirked slightly, she was glad that she had always been taken seriously as a solider and not some pretty distraction, well except maybe to Rogueboy, but he was an odd case anyway.

Namyr closed her eyes to hold back the rage and tried to pay attention to the instructions that were being told. Go in kill the Hutt, his council, anyone who got in their way, and rescue the operatives. Perhaps enough time to find her sister, if she had the chance. Though Darr wasn't the type of guy just to let a Raider go off on their own for personal reasons. Namyr would make do, and stood up as the meeting ended and flexed her fingers. Her cheeks were still dark red as she struggled to get her anger under control, but she hid it by shaking her head a few times. Anyone who knew her could tell she was agitated by her rigid posture and constant flexing of her muscles. As Darr released them until the next day, Namyr grabbed Rogueboy's arm and pulled him behind everyone else leaving. She had a vague idea of Rogue's past, something that dealt with the Hutts, but neither of them were the type of people to preach their past to just anyone.

"That's one of the Hutts that took one of my sisters," Namyr murmured into Rogueboy's ear as they walked so no one could hear them, "Her name is Cerine," she added looking around, this was the most she had ever told Rogueboy about her past and she wanted only him to hear, "So, for the most part I have unfinished business with this Hutt if you get my drift," she added darkly. Namyr wasn't the type of solider to take risks, but if she got the chance to kill the Hutt herself she would do it without question. Namyr looked up at Rogueboy for a moment and figured if she was going to do something outside the norm, then he was the best person to talk to.

Namyr grabbed Rogue's arm and he gave a slight jerk, the meeting had put him to sleep again lately he had been tired and weak through a combination of working hard, lack of sleep, and studying for his officer's exams. Lately all he did was go home, study, and sleep maybe eat; he knew this habit wasn't healthy but it was only temporary at least until he passed his exam or died whichever came first. Namyr began whispering to Rogueboy about how her sister ended up with some gangster Hutt, Rogue looked up and saw a holopic of aforementioned loser and a little blurb on him.

Garra The Hutt

Armed Robbery
Prostitution
Pirating
Extortion
Kidnapper
Blackmail
Slavery

The last one caught Rogue's eye as he himself used to be a slave and he felt red-hot rage slip through him. Control yourself, breathe in and out and remember keep a cool head while doing the mission, Rogue let the rage slide out of him, it would be foolish to keep it in him and might cause him to act foolish, more foolish Rogue amended.

Rogueboy walked outside of the building with Namyr and together they went to his apartment to discuss how they could do the primary objective of the mission and the secondary as well as save Namyr's sister.

"Cerine is probably with the other prisoners." Rogue said as he stared at his bedroom door longingly.

"Never assume anything, plus these prisoners will most likely be kept in a different place then the slaves, they have more value." Namyr replied as she sensed Rogue's fatigue. "What's wrong?"

"I'm exhausted and I have so much stuff to do, but I really want to get this plan down, and I don't think we can approach Darr about it, he is a loyal commander and he understands the mission objectives are more important." An idea entered Rogue's head. "So what we do is change the mission objectives."

"I'm not getting you." Namyr replied, puzzled.

"We will be either be given a map of Garra's compound or will steal one while there, we simply edit where we think the prisoners are to where your sister is most likely." Rogue laid out the plan.

"And how are we going to do that?" Namyr asked with an eyebrow raised.
"Simple, we use Patch he is considered my property rather then Raiders, and he will do as I say." The droid beeped questioningly from a nearby room at the mention of its name.

"I like it, but what if we get caught?"

"I blame Patch is malfunctioning and I have him memory wiped and he goes under examination, which he will pass and I will restore his old memory because I keep a copy of it." Rogue sighed as he picked up his datapad, he had a new message from Darr.

Hey Rogue,
Listen up, I want your input on the location of Raider Manor. Can you meet me at the restaurant on the corner of Av. Palpatine?

Darr-Rann

"Sorry Namyr, I gotta go to a meeting with Darr." Rogue got up to leave. "Oh before I forget, I wanted to give you this." Rogue handed Namyr a keycard. "This is for my apartment, you're here often enough."

"Thanks&" Namyr said to an empty room. "How did the bastard do that?"

Hard Hardt jumped out of the trench and ran towards the bunker, letting of shots every couple of seconds. He heard a cry of pain as one of his shots found it's mark. He cursed as a bolt contacted his pouldron. Luckily it did not penetrate his armour. He jumped into a trench and saw a soldier shouting and pointing up at something in the sky. Hard Hardt looked up to see a blur come crashing down in the trench where he and the squad where. It was a mortar shell. It hit the ground and exploded. He tried to jump outside the blast radius, but too late several pieces of shrapnel hit and penetrated his helmet.

* * * * *

Hard Hardt pulled of his helmet, sweat rolling down his forehead. He brushed his hair back and followed the squad out of the training room. Instead of heading back to their rooms they walked into a briefing room. He went and sat down in the corner and faced the Lieutenant. When the Lieutenant told them about Garra Hard thought "Great, just what I ned, another Hutt to worry about." Thinking about the Hutt brought memories of his past life. This Hutt was even fatter and uglier then Spadda (his former master). As he walked back to his room he thought "that lieutenant didn't say it would be any easier getting in on foot then in the air, I'd better get the blades out for this one." He pulled his kererthorr blades from a box under his bed labeled Mevance 'Hard' Hardt. He brought them over to the bench in front of the window. He took a good long look outside. There wasn't much to see but it was a good place to go if you just wanted to sit and think. He started sharpening the blades thinking all the while about how he was going to gut Garra with them. A sense of dread and foreboding came over as he thought about what might happen the next day. He knew what Hutts were capable of. They usually had a hell of a lot of credits and credits were power. He hoped he wouldn't run into any of the bounty hunters that had been after the bounty put on him by Spadda. "Anyway" he thought, as he stowed his blades back in the box, "most of the bounty hunters on Rinn couldn't even afford a ship, but I'm sure they've found some way around that." With that last thought put aside he stood up and headed of to bed.

Namyr walked into Rogueboy's apartment and let out a sigh or relief, the last time she had been to his apartment Patch hadn't taken some of Rogueboy undergarments to the cleaners, and Namyr had found out, much to her disgust that Rogueboy preferred boxers over briefs. Luckily this time she was spared the embarrassment and looked around to see the apartment mostly clean. Namyr went over to the rather crispy looking plant and went to the kitchen and brought a cup of water for the poor plant.

"Cerine is probably with the other prisoners," Rogueboy said after a few minutes of silence as Namyr poured the water onto the plant.

Namyr was silent for a moment, remembering her older sister Cerine, sweet, kind, and had a beautiful singing voice. She wouldn't be kept with the other slaves, most like that her blue-skinned sister would be kept close to Garra. "Never assume anything, plus these prisoners will most likely be kept in a different place then the slaves, they have more value." Namyr said turning and looking at Rogueboy in time to see him gazing at his bedroom door. She took a deep breath through her mouth and tasted the dull, metallic taste of exhaustion on her tongue and frowned. She had known that Rogueboy had been pushing his mind and body pretty hard for his officer's exam. But he looked so tired now that she worried about him. She no longer carried him home from a drunken night out. But instead carried him home from the Archives after a long night of study. She didn't know how much longer he could last like this, and Rogueboy was her closet friend, she would die if something happened to him, "What's wrong?" she finally asked wondering if Rogueboy wanted to get the pressure of the Officer's test off his chest. at least she could help a little that way.

"I'm exhausted and I have so much stuff to do, but I really want to get this plan down, and I don't think we can approach Darr about it, he is a loyal commander and he understands the mission objectives are more important," A Look of revelation passed over Rogueboy's features as his mind flickered to another subject. Namyr wondered if she would ever get use to his constantly changing tracked mind, "So what we do is change the mission objectives."

"I don't follow," Namyr said and actually meant it. How could they change the objectives without being caught. Wouldn't after it was all said and done with, Darr would make the connection between Namyr and Cerine, then piece together Namyr and Rogueboy. Then charge them with who knows what, probably treason and disobeying the orders of a superior. Namyr let out a sigh and sat down beside Rogueboy, crossing her arms she frowned. If there was a chance they could get away with rescuing her sister she would take it. She just hoped that her sister was still alive.

"We will be either be given a map of Garra's compound or will steal one while there, we simply edit where we think the prisoners are to where your sister is most likely," Rogue said letting Namyr in on his plan. Namyr leaned towards him to get every detail, she would have to actually pay attention to this plan, not like the general company missions where she usually followed everyone else and kicked booty wherever she needed to.

"And how are we going to do that?" Namyr asked raising an eyebrow, a look she often gave Rogueboy after a long night of drinking, and him suggesting they go ahead and follow one of his hair brain ideas. Like last time when they went tipping trashcans. That is until the police showed up and they had sprinted away to hide in Namyr's apartment for a few days. Luckily, they hadn't been caught and both of them ended up crashing on the couch, sleeping away their hangover.

"Simple, we use Patch he is considered my property rather then Raiders, and he will do as I say." The droid beeped questioningly from a nearby room at the mention of its name. Namyr chuckled, grinning at Patch, she liked the little droid. He didn't really say much she could understand, but he had a great personality. Rogueboy often said the little droid had a lot to say, but Namyr just took his word for it.

"I like it, but what if we get caught?" Namyr questioned looking back at Rogueboy, her eyes dark with thought, counting the hundreds or ways this plan could go wrong. the first being that Rogueboy was thinking of the plan for a change.

"I blame Patch is malfunctioning and I have him memory wiped and he goes under examination, which he will pass and I will restore his old memory because I keep a copy of it." Rogue sighed and picked up his datapad. Namyr frowned again, the poor guy got more messages then the commanding officer himself. There had been several times that Namyr had been nice enough to make Rogueboy a decent meal, then his usual bachelor food, anything take out that didn't move. And he had been called away for one thing or another. A crease appeared on Namyr's forehead, something that only happened when she was extreme agitated or concerned.

"Sorry Namyr, I gotta go to a meeting with Darr," Rogueboy said getting up from the couch, and strangely Namyr felt a flutter of disappointment that he was leaving once again, "Oh before I forget, I wanted to give you this," Rogueboy added turning back to Namyr and handing her a card key. she stared at it in confusement. Why was he giving this to her? "This is for my apartment, you're here often enough," A key yo his apartment? This was all to weird, Namyr felt her heart beat heavily in her chest and her skin broke out in a blush. Why was he giving her a key to his apartment. She was sure that it was because he somewhat trusted her. But she hadn't given him a key to her apartment, was it common courtesy now that she give him a key to her apartment as well?

"Erm, thanks?" Namyr managed to croak out and looked up to see if she couldn't get one last look at his lime eyes. But she found herself speaking to no one. "How did the bastard do that?" She asked Patch as the droid rolled out of the room, "I shouldn't have taught him to Stealth Walk, now he uses it against me. I mean I almost peed myself when he snuck up on me at the Archives the other day," Namyr said her temper flaring slightly as she got to her feet and stretched out her limbs.

"Geez Patch, what am I suppose to do with this key, Rogue should know I'm not the type of person just to go into someone's apartment uncalled just because I have a key," Namyr said walking towards the door, "Perhaps that's why he gave me one, either way I'll ask him when I see him tonight. I'm going to make sure he gets a decent night sleep tonight. The last time I went on a mission with him while he was tired he couldn't shoot worth a crud, and was snappy. Not my usual Rogueboy," Namyr's mouth snapped shut and she covered her mouth. Had she just called Rogueboy her's? What type of crazy talk was that? She was going insane and needed to get out of there.

"Well see you later Patch," Namyr said quickly waving to the droid and left the apartment. Once out onto the street, Namyr called to a cab. She climbed in, giving the cabdriver directions before she settled into the backseat. She supposed she had been foolish to try to quell the obvious emotions she felt around Rogueboy. She usually brushed it off as one of the only male species she could stand for any length of time. But she had started to notice that more and more often it was getting difficult to push away from Rogueboy. How many times had they shared drunken kisses and her out of anyone had actually enjoyed it through her drunken state, let alone let it happen. Namyr was just felt lucky that she had very blurry memories on the subject. But she couldn't ignore how much more she smiled when she was near Rogueboy, or the fact that she enjoyed Blade lessons with him, even if it was merely for his silly humor. She would think about this another time. Namyr's cab pulled up to her apartment. She got out and paid the cab driver, tipping him well and walked up to her apartment door and went inside.

Namyr looked around her apartment, she didn't really need to pack, she always had a bag filled with the essentials next to the door just in case of an unexpected mission. She felt restless as she always did before a mission. She wished that they were leaving that night instead of the next day. But that was just hopeful thinking, even if she did believe that the higher ups gave them too much time to get ready. Namyr stripped down to her tank top and leggings as she made her way to the extra room in her apartment that she had made into a small training room. She stepped inside and shut the door. She walked around in the dark before she found a lighter and lit a few candles and settled in front of a small shrine she had set up to the gods and goddess. She said a quick prayer of protection and guidance before getting to her feet. In front of her was her twin Twi'lek, poison, spinning blades. Without a word she gathered her blades from their small altar and left the room. Namyr gathered up her bag, and left her apartment. She headed back to Rogueboy's apartment to wait for him. If he wasn't going to take care of himself, then she would have to bully him into it. When she arrived back at his apartment, she unlocked it with the key card for the first time, and a flush appeared on her cheeks before she stepped inside. She said a brief greeting to Patch before crashing onto the couch and turning on the television. but before she knew it, she felt her eyes go heavy and she fell asleep.

Rogue parked his speeder on the corner of Palpatine and fed the meter a couple of ICs and walked the few blocks to the restaurant called "Faze" A waiter was standing behind a counter.

"Good afternoon, will you be joining us for lunch? If so how many?" The waiter was young and was dressed in the universal black and white of classy joints.

"I'm meeting someone." Rogue said as he looked around and spotted Darr who had a seat facing the door. Rogue excused himself from the waiter and made his way over to see Darr. "Getting a little paranoid Darr?" Rogue asked acknowledging frontal view of the door was not lost on him.

"Making sure you don't walk by and go to the whorehouse a few doors down." Darr replied with just a hint of a grin on his face.

"You poodoo." Rogue said as he sat down across from Darr and placed the napkin on his lap. A waiter gave them two menus each and poured them two glasses of water. "So what is it you wanted to talk about?"

Darr let out a heavy sigh. "We can't construct Raider Manor." He said bluntly.

"How come?" Rogue asked as he breathed deeply to let out the frustration.

"There are many restrictions and laws on owning such a complex, as well as the higher ups disapprove. It's the damn bureaucracy." Darr said clearly frustrated with having all his efforts come to naught.

The waiter came by. "Ready to place your orders?" He said looking at Darr.

"I'll have my usual." The Squad Leader replied.

"Excellent, and you sir?" The waiter said as he punched in some keys for his datapad.

Rogue looked at the menu; it had a bunch of fancy words and dishes that he had no idea what they meant. Usually the restaurants he goes to have a lineup and the menu is behind the counter.

"I'll take a...rack of Needra." Rogue said, as the waiter typed it in and walked away.

Darr and Rogue talked until lunch was over, neither of them had dessert and when it came time to part ways they knew they would be seeing each other in an hour, tops.

Rogue opened his apartment door and knew something was not normal, he put his hand on the grip of his blaster which was in a holster under his jacket, and slowly started surveilling the apartment. The TV was on and a lump was on the couch, Rogue let out his breath as he remembered he gave Namyr a key. "Wake up sleeping beauty." Rogue said tenderly as he gently stroked Namyr's lekku.

She let out a soft groan and in a sleepy voice said. "Go away."

"hehe which I could." Rogue said while chuckling. "But we need to get ready for the mission and Cerine." he got up and went to his room to prepare the necessities for the mission, as well as some non-necessities for example his Music Pod. "I'll need to stop by the armoury later, I stopped keeping all my big toys here."

Namyr's eyes twitched behind her eyelids as she slept on the couch. Within her sleeping state she was plagued with hellish nightmares. Namyr found herself in a large room, the edges blurry from detail. She tried to lift her hands to rub her eyes to clear her vision, but found them heavy, almost to heavy to lift. Namyr looked down to see her heavily shackled and chained hands that connected to an iron collar around her neck with more heavy chains. Namyr looked around and saw that the chains led to a metal ring that allowed her some movement, but not enough to escape.

"Hello my little turtledove," a voice echoed around Namyr, causing her blood to turn cold then boil in anger as a purple, male, Twi'lek appeared in the haziness. Namyr let out a shout of anger as she forgot about the chains and lept forward to kill the Twi'lek, only to be burdened by the chains and crash to the floor. She tried to struggle to her feet, but the chains held her down. Namyr gritted her teeth as she felt a sharp stab of the Twi'lek's boot to her side.

'You're still trying to escape me aren't you?" the male Twi'lek asked humour in his voice, "Seems like you don't get it, and you never will, you belong to me, and you always will, no matter how much you try to run. Or attach yourself to some human because he treats you like an equal. You are mine, don't you forget!" he growled the humour in his voice disappearing and dug his foot more into Namyr's side as Namyr tried to escape from the chains.

Suddenly the digging stopped and Namyr felt a soft touch on her Lekku and she looked up with blurred eyes to see Rogueboy. "Wake up sleeping beauty," he said softly, Namyr shivered slightly and realized she was dreaming. She waved a hand at Rogueboy to give her a moment to get her head together.

"Go away," she then said remembering the stinging words of the purple Twi'lek. Was it true that she merely attached herself to Rogueboy because he treated her like an equal and not some pretty face to be taken advantage of. She didn't know, and maybe that's why she hadn't been more foreword in her actions, and maybe that was his reasoning too, who knew.

"hehe which I could." Rogue said chuckling, breaking Namyr's thought patterns, "But we need to get ready for the mission and Cerine," Namyr blinked a few times and then remembered the situation with Cerine and got up from the couch. She followed Rogueboy into the bed room and leaned against the door, still thinking about her sister. Cerine would be what, twenty-nine by now, most women her age would be married and have children. Namyr doubted that Cerine would have gotten that far, if she was still alive.

"I'll need to stop by the armoury later, I stopped keeping all my big toys here," Rogueboy added throwing his music pod into his bag. Namyr looked up in time to see him pulling off his shirt to change it to a new one for the mission. Namyr's eyes grew large as she got an eye full of Rogueboy's chest, scars and all, before she coughed and turned away.

"Jessums Rogue, give a girl warning!" she managed to stutter her cheeks growing dark red.

"What?" Rogueboy asked pulling on the clean shirt and looked at Namyr with a confused, hair tousled look, before he realized what was going on a gave Namyr a humorous crooked grin, "What no other girls have complained when I've taken off my shirt," he stated.

"Yeah and they've probably been lured into your bedroom drunk," Namyr whipped back with her own crooked grin.

"But they didn't say no, isn't that the point?" Rogueboy shot back.

"Alcohol makes you see a lot of imaginary things," Namyr added with a roll of her eyes as she waited for Rogueboy to pick up his back and followed him to the door, where she picked up her own bag. Outside they called for a cab, both of them exchanging playful insults until they got to the Base Hanger.

"Well here we are, I just hope my nose doesn't get bashed in again," Namyr murmured as her and Rogue headed for their ship.

Darr-Rann stepped up the ramp of the transport ship "N35-24". The craft was just out of the production line, yet to even have been named. It carried an LAAT, and had enough passenger space for four squads of stormtroopers to be transported comfortably. He threw his pack with that of the others in the squad, then headed towards the cramped lounge area. The rest of the squad was gathered around, playing cards and talking to one another, awaiting liftoff.

"It looks like everyone is here." The Squad leader said, looking over the troopers before him. He clicked a button mounted on the wall beside the doorframe, and leaned in towards the microphone.

"All squad members are aboard. What's the status supplies?" Darr-Rann asked. There was a pause, then a response sounded out on the small speaker mounted onto the wall.

"Everything is loaded up. If you want, we can depart now." The pilot replied.

Darr-Rann looked to the squad. "You all ready to go?" He asked. They all replied in the positive, so Darr-Rann keyed the mic again. "It's time for takeoff then."

The ships ion engines rumbled to life, and the ship began to slowly move forward, pulling out of the hangar and angling itself towards the sky.

"Well, we're on our way." Darr-Rann said, sitting down with the others. "So, you guys looking forward to camping?"

"Camping?" Leon asked, a confused look covering his face. Rogueboy shook his head and sighed.

"Pay more attention next time we have a briefing. We're going to be walking about twenty five hours worth the travel - We wont be able to cover that continously. We're going to be camping out in the desert."

"In the middle of enemy territory." Namyr added.

"Oh. Sounds like fun." Leon said, picking up the Sabaac cards that lay on the table between them, shuffling them together, then dealing them out for a new game. The ship silently entered hyerspace, and they were on their way.

Meh, I had to go, I'm going to add some stuff in to the beginning (personal char dev). We're on our way, let's get to work!

Leon sighed as he pulled another bad hand of cards from the deck. Not once had he won, and the frustration was finally settling in. "Alright you guys, I'm out. Gonna go get some R and R, we have a long journey ahead of us," Leon said while smacking the cards face up on the table.

"Wow, you really do have bad luck," said Rogue examining Leon's face up cards. "Lets just hope you don't have that same luck when were down on the field."

Leon ignored the comment, but the thought of having bad luck down on the field was pretty nerve racking. This reminded Leon of the previous training simulation they had just been in. It ended with a bang, and definitely not a good one. Unfortunately for Leon, there was nothing he could do about it, if he died, so be it. No don't think like that Leon. You still have to find out about your past...

That was the only thing right about now that kept Leon going. He didn't have to be here if he didn't want to, but this would be the only way he could find out about his life before he had lost his memory. This was the only thing keeping Leon from leaving the army, and going out into the galaxy to do who knows what. That was another thing that bugged Leon, if he left the army, where would he go? What would he do? If he needed help, who would he turn to? So that meant Leon's only option was to stay in the army, and do what he does best... kill people.

Leon new he was good at that. The way he fought, and planned things in his mind, it was all so smooth and easy. But the situation changes when you have squad mates to watch over and protect. Its a whole new ball game, and one Leon wasn't used to.  Leon thought of the beer raid, he had done a horrible job of leading the squad, if it wasn't for Namyr and Rogue, they all would have been goners. But that was the past and this was the present. Hopefully, if it comes to what had happened last time, Leon would do a better job of leading the squad.

As Leon was about to lie down on one of the couches, a sudden realization hit him... He had to go pee. Leon quickly got up from his seat and walked over to the bathroom. He opened the door, shut it, locked it, and then did his business. With a sigh, Leon zipped up his pants, and turned over to the sink. As Leon was about to leave, he saw his reflection in the mirror, and stopped. He looked at himself, examining his facial features, and for some reason he smiled. After a couple of seconds of just staring at himself, Leon left the bathroom, and went to go get some sleep.

Darr-Rann pulled on the white gauntlet, the white plasteel sliding smoothly over the black undersuit before locking in place. He attached the white pauldron above, which was striped with a black line to indicate his squad leadership position. He had taken his leave from the card table to prepare for the mission, despite the fact they still had a bit of a wait until they arrived.

The armor was similar to the stormtrooper armor that they regularly wore, with a few minor exceptions. Including the rank pauldron, a higher quality of air filters and a higher quality of protection for the eyes.

He picked up his A280, weatherworn from previous missions, but kept in good  condition. After a quick examination of the weapon, he picked up a blaster-pack from the table and slapped it into the ammunition slot and pulling back the switch to confirm. The blaster's ammunition indicator switched on, a one hundred percent charge displaying the on the small screen.

He switched on the safety feature, then placed the weapon back on the table. He examined his suit, making sure everything was locked up, then nodded with satisfaction. He left his helmet sitting on the table, preferring to leave it off until landing time. He walked out of the room, heading back towards the lounge. He walked in, sitting down at the table and motioning to Rogueboy (who took over the deck after Leon left) to deal him in.

"So, you think this mission's going to be tough?" Rayden asked, taking a look at his hand before meeting the stake. "I mean, we've got to basically sneak through an enemy-infested desert, Infiltrate the enemy-infested compound of a Hutt, cut off their anti-air, find the targets, kill the Hutt if we can, and get the hell out of there."

"All in a days work." Rogueboy muttered, folding his hand. "Nobody said Stormtrooping would be easy when we signed up."

"We're Raiders." Rayden said, "We're badass. We can handle it."

Darr-Rann grinned. "Just a walk in the park for us." He looked down at his hand, then back up. "As long as there arent any major complications this time, we should be fine." He was referring to the last mission, and the turn it took. Luckily, investigation hadn't been pressed - The NR had apparently found evidence of corruption within the brewery, and were looking inward for culprits.

He looked around the table, and noticed a flash of guilt on his face, quick enough that he nearly missed it. Darr-Rann assumed it was over the error he and Namyr had made during the mission. He took the blame for everything, but Darr-Rann still had the gut feeling that Rogueboy had done it out of some sort of need to protect her. He inwardly sighed - Inter-squad relationships could make things complicated - especially when one of participants has a position of command, even subcommand. He'd have to talk to the Sergeant after this mission was completed.

This train of thought brought him another - His own relationship with Dawn. She was squad leader of Manticore now, and since both squads were being frequently drawn into service, they had less and less time to spend together. He had seen her only a few hours ago, but he already missed her.

He folded his hand and sat back, lost in thought...

Leon stared up at the metallic ceiling, inhaling and exhaling very slowly. In a couple of minutes, Leon's
eyelids began to grow heavy, and before he new it he was fast asleep. A black void enveloped him, and then a bright, blinding light, flooded his eyes. It took a couple of seconds for his eyes to adjust, and when they did, Leon's jaw dropped. All around him, he was surrounded by towering dunes of sand. It was a never ending sea of gold mountains, and not an end in sight.

This must be a dream, Leon thought as he took a couple of steps forward. But it all felt and looked so real. There was even a warm breeze accompanying the hot weather. Just to make sure though, Leon knelt down on one knee, and ran his hand through the sand. It felt smooth, and ruff at the same time.

"Is this really a dream?" Leon asked himself aloud.

"Yes, it is," said another voice from behind Leon. This, took Leon by surprise, causing him to quickly jump to his left, and then reel around, ready to fight. Once again, Leon was in shock. A replica of himself, stood before him. But there was something different about this copy of Leon, something very different. His eyes, they weren't normal eyes, at least to Leon they didn't look normal. They had a crazed look about them; wild eyes. "What, is there something wrong Leon? You don't remember me?"

Leon stood stock still, and then answered. "What do you mean remember you? You're me!"

"Yes, I am you, but I'm different. I'm pretty sure you noticed my eyes, there not right are they?"

"No, they aren't."

The thing let out a half toothed grin. "Intimidating aren't I? Don't worry though, I wont harm you, and even if I wanted to I wouldn't be able to. Now about my eyes, these are the eyes of a murderer."

"And your point is?" Replied Leon impatiently.

"That makes you a murderer."

"What? I don't get what your trying to say," replied the confused Leon.

"Well let me put it this way. In your past, you killed many people. You know why you did it? Because you were angry, you were angry at the world. And now your wondering why you were angry? Well its because someone very dear to you had been murdered. And that person was your brother."

"You know about my past?" Leon asked in surprise.

"Yes, I do. But I will only tell you about it if you make a deal with me." Said the thing.

"Alright, tell me what I have to do..."

Ten Minutes Later

Leon woke up with a start, drenched in sweat. A smile slowly snaked across his face, knowing that he would soon find out bits and pieces of his past. But little did he know, he had just did something that would haunt him forever.

Namyr let out a chuckle and grinned as Leon pulled out a pack of cards. She loved playing cards with the rest of the squad, what suckers they were they never even realized she always had an extra pack of cards down her shirt or on the inside of her breastplate, allowing her to easily have the best hands and take off with the guy's credits. She decided with this weeks winnings she'd get a new couch, the old one was sagging in several places and threatened to make anyone sterile who sat in the wrong place.

Namyr pulled up a chair and turned it around so she could sit in it backwards. Her armour made a dull thud as her breastplate hit against the back of the chair. Stupid, armor obviously made more for a guy then a woman. Then again this was the hundreth time Namyr cursed her female figure, but quickly forgot about it as she was dealt the cards. Her cards were alright, but they could be better, with a slip of her hand Namyr quickly changed up card, and grinned even more as everyone dealt in their bets then showed their cards. Namyr quickly went and began counting cards, making sure to get her cards back from the deck, and so she didn't have more aces in her hand then what was dealt from the deck. It was almost too easy, the two new Privates had yet to know her prowess with cards, and the rest of her teammates were too busy talking to one another to pay attention to her. She chuckled again about an hour later as she stowed the won credits in her pocket and grinned even more as Leon let her deal.

She glanced up at Rayden as he spoke, 'Do you think this mission will be tough?" Namyr smirked, since her first mission she had gotten use to thinking that every mission would be tough, it prepared her for the unexpected. Plus, Rogueboy wouldn't be around all the time to reset her nose, which since that mission Namyr had grown rather fond of.

"As long as there aren't any major complications this time, we should be fine," Darr then said causing Namyr to look up and blink. Her cheeks turned a darker red, slightly in anger. When they had gotten back to the base Rogueboy had managed to talk to Darr first, taking all of the blame, when she had requested that she should take it. Out of anger Namyr had confronted Rogueboy about it and he was his usual annoying self that Namyr's temper had gotten the better of herself. Next thing she knew the two of them were laying on the floor, Namyr had Rogueboy's neck in a grip lock, and Rogueboy was thrashing around trying to escape. then Leon had walked in on the two of them, taken one look then walked out again, Namyr couldn't help wondering that Leon was thinking particularly when Rogueboy was shouting, 'You're boob is touching my head," over and over again to try to make her let got.

Since the last mission though, Namyr had the suspicion that Darr thought that there was something going on between her and Rogueboy. Namyr shook her head, though the attraction was sometimes there, her and Rogueboy had nothing but the Corps, and nowhere to go if they were booted out. Not to mention the Raiders were their lives. Namyr couldn't imagine herself on any other squad and didn't want to be on any other squad. Namyr let out a sigh and a small chuckle, what did Darr know anyway? Rogueboy was just a close friend and nothing more.

"We're about half an hour from our destination" The pilot announced over the intercom. "Once we're at the launch zone, I'll open up the hanger for you guys." He switched off the intercom, then sighed. He turned to his copilot, who was watching their astrogation computer.

"Damn, I hate doing this. I mean, he could have at least told them, couldn't he?" He said. The copilot shook his head.

"Would you go through with this mission if you knew? Personally, I'm not one of those "Die for my empire" types. Fight, sure, but die?"

The pilot shook his head. "I dunno, these are Phoenix Stormtroopers. They're soldiers to the bone - I really wouldn't be shocked if they'd have accepted the mission anyways."

"Come on, man. We're VEI - You've seen shit worse then this." The copilot said, typing in a few course adjustments then turning away from the computer.

"I know." The pilot said, "But still, those time's it wasn't our own people we were sending to hell, and they certainly weren't stormies."

"It's the greater good." The copilot said, "You know that. Their deaths won't be for nothing."

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Darr-Rann was back at Coronet city. They were in the lower levels, the slums, in a firefight. Smoke from the enemy grenades filled the streets, and the only thing visible from the other end was the flashes of the enemy's rifles. Around him, men and women called out in defiance and returned fire, filling the cloud with energy. Darr-Rann heard a scream, and he turned to see the boy who had been standing beside him fall with a burning hole in his chest. The boy was only fourteen...

Darr-Rann found himself back on the ship, his body shaking slightly. The eyes of all who sat at the table were focused on him, concerned. He shook his head and got up.

"I must have slipped off. A bad dream, nothing more." He said. "I'm going to take a quick walk-around to wake up. Any announcements?"

Rogueboy replied. "They said we're going to be there in about half an hour."

"We'd better be ready then." He said. "Stow those cards, get any equipment you dont have ready packed up. We're going to be deploying as soon as we can."

Darr-Rann walked down the hallway, then into the small bathroom, closing and locking the door behind him. He gripped the sink tightly and forced his quivering body under control, taking slow deep breaths in an effort to calm himself.

It's all in the past. He told himself, I wont let it haunt me. He stood up strait, took one more breath, then opened up the door and walked out. He had a mission to deal with - He could let his own problems wait until he had time for them.

Rogue was pumped up, ready to juke and jive through enemy fire, ready to kill, ready to&wait a second&he was sober. This was fine with Rogueboy since his last mission where he perhaps had one too many he decided to no longer drink prior to a mission, which he found out greatly increased his accuracy and command abilities. A new recruit Hard Hardt did not join the rest of the squad in the Sabaac game and was sitting by himself in one of the seats.

"Hard Hardt get your chunky rear end down here and give your money to his beautiful red Twi'lek." Rogue said with just a hint of a grin. The look Namyr gave Rogue was pure venom and he half expected her to kill him.

Hard Hardt didn't respond, but Rogueboy understood the importance of squad familiarity and comradeship and in his gruffest voice. "That's an order trooper!"

The aforementioned trooper quickly made his way over to the Sabaac table and picked up his hand.

Many hands later Rogue stood up. "I think I'm gonna go check up on my equipment and have a smoke."

Rogue walked around looking for an area in which he was able to smoke, but was unable to find any, but what he did find was a lonesome figure stargazing outside one of the viewports. Rogue slowly and quietly made his way over, using the stealthwalk that Namyr taught him as he closed the gap between he quickly grabbed Darr's shoulder and screamed. "Boo!"

Darr's elbow extended and caught Rogue square in the jaw, his head titled back with the force and his knees gave out as he crashed to the floor.

"Alex?" A voice asked from the foggy darkness that was Rogue's mind.

"What?"

"Where are you?" The voice was almost feline.

"Over here! Wherever here is." The tone of unknown fears in his voice, his worst enemy was his mind as well as his secret weapon.

A light turned on and illuminated the blackness that sheltered unknown terrors, a figure emerged and Rogue woke up.

"Rogue you alright?" A concerned Darr asked as he gave the knocked out ASL a few slaps on the cheeks.

"I'm up, I'm up." Responded a weary Rogue as he sat up.

"Well I got some good news." A grinning Darr replied. "We touched down and made contact with our reinforcements."

"We were supposed to get reinforcements?" Asked a wide-eyed Rogue.

"That's what I said, it's Aphamos."

"Holy Poodoo, really?"

"Yeah, and he has some more supplies for the mission, the desert is exceptionally hot this time of the year, so he has extra water and other supplies, and we got a message from HC saying he is now part of the squad." Darr was ecstatic as he announced Aph's return.

"Wow." Was the only word that could describe the amazement that Rogue felt.

"Well you better gear up, we got a lot of marching to do, as well as some heavy stuff to carry."

"Darr, did I ever tell you I hate you?" Rogue said jokingly.

"Yeah you did, just get one of the rookies to do the heavy lifting." Darr said as he left the room.

Like hell I would make a rookie think I'm dainty. "Bring on the gear."

Darr-Rann looked out at the desert, taking a moment to absorb the endless sea of dunes, sprawling out into the distance. Every time he went to a place like this, it was a bit of a shock. For most of his life, he had lived in Coronet city, a maze of skyscrapers that blocked out the rest of the world from view of those who lived there. Places like this, so open, so endless... It was different.

"Everyone ready to move?" Darr-Rann said, shouldering the heavy supply pack, which also included his communications gear. The pack covered the back holster which held his rifle, so he decided it wise to carry the weapon in his hands instead. "Sayah, Rogue, your out front. Namyr, Hard Hardt, you've got the rear. Everyone in the center, your taking heavy packs." The squad leader ordered. This was met by a few groans. Muling supplies was never a favorite duty among the troopers. He picked up his helmet, tapped it twice, then put it on, the others taking the signal and following suite.

The mission had begun.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Darr-Rann adjusted his pack as he walked, then clicked on his comlink. He set it for a private channel with Aphamos. "Hey." He said.

"Hey Darr." Aphamos replied.

"Welcome back to the squad." Darr-Rann said. It was only a mission's length, but Aphamos' absence had been noticeable. He was happy to have the trooper back in his squad.

"It's good to be back. Although it's changed a bit." Aphamos replied. Darr-Rann took a moment to think about this - The squad had taken a change since the Corporal's last mission. He reflected on the roster - It was quite different then the old days. There was still a couple of old faces, but many of them were new.

"Yeah, it has." The squad leader said in return. Time certainly has flown.

Suddenly an indicator flashed on his heads-up display. Rogueboy was signaling for them to halt, and Darr-Rann backed up the order by punching his hand up in the air and making a stopping gesture. Up ahead, Rogueboy dropped to the ground, Sayah following a moment later. The rest of the squad followed suite, flattening themsleves into the sand so that the desert mods of their armor would blend in.

"Rogue, get me a video feed." Darr-Rann said. A moment later, the connection was established, and the visual of Rogueboy's mini-camera projected on his HUD. Four sentients of various species, clothed in desert wear and carrying slughtrower, rode by on dewback. One of them paused, swept the area with his binoculars, then put them away, making a motion to continue. Only once they had passed did the Raiders get to their feet.

"Alright, move out." Darr-Rann said. The squad continued on, more silently then before. This is going to be great fun. The Senior Sergeant thought, brushing sand off of his armor. They pressed on...

"Wow, this place is... huge," said Leon as he stared in awe at the surrounding ocean of sand. It was nothing like Leon had ever seen before. But wait, he had seen a place like this, in fact, he used to live in a place like this. Thats what The Thing told him. The sudden thought of that turned Leon's awe struck face into one of total seriousness.

Seconds later, Leon saw Darr give the signal to move out. Unfortunately for Leon, he was  one of the troopers that were assigned to carry the equipment. Leon hesitated before picking up the large dessert colored sack. He wanted to protest, but after thinking about it, held himself back. Leon just didn't like the fact that he was being treated like a little boy who took care of the equipment. Why couldn't he be up front or down back watching out for hostiles? He was probably more suited for the job then any of these people. But Leon did as he was told, and managed to calm down.

I can't get jealous. Just calm down, you'll get some action soon, Leon told himself as he trudged through the sand. But half an hour later, nothing had happened. The pack was also starting to get a little to heavy for Leon's taste. The sand made it worse to, it wasn't like walking on Dura-crete or anything of the like. Your feet would get sucked in, taking twice the effort it normally does when walking. It felt like it was never going to end, until Leon saw a quick movement up ahead. Darr had raised his hand signaling the squad to stop. Moments later, Rogue dropped to the ground, the rest of the squad following his lead. Leon quickly dropped his pack to the ground and then dropped- his rifle cradled in his arms.

Leon quickly scanned the dune sea, and his eyes soon fell upon what looked like four human like figures, riding on some type of animals. Leon fingered his trigger, a bad habit he had. It meant that he was anxious, he wanted to fight already. This was to boring and exhausting- he wanted to feel the adrenaline flow through his veins, and the excitement of a fight. But it wouldn't happen yet, they couldn't blow there cover.

A couple of minutes of later, the hostiles were well out of sight, and Darr-Rann signaled for the squad to move out. "So Darr-Rann, you know when were going to trade spots with each other? This pack is starting to get a little to heavy for my own taste," said Leon breaking the silence that had over came the squad.

"Not anytime soon, and I can guarantee you that. You know that patrol group we saw? Well, in about an hour or two they'll be on there way back, and if they see us hanging around, and taking a little rest, they'll catch us by surprise. But not with a group of four, they won't even bother starting a fire fight with us. They'll just bomb the crap out of us," said Darr, pausing to catch his breath. "So you still want to stop?"

"Nah its alright, these packs don't weigh a thing," said Leon sarcastically while shrugging the pack as if it were a small back pack. He was then accompanied by some painful moans from the other pack carriers.

"Ahhh, the privileges of being a lady," said Namyr with a huge grin.

"That doesn't mean a thing Namyr. I'm gonna make sure you do some muling later to," said Rogue in total seriousness. Namyr and Rogue then threw some insults at each other, and were silenced by Darr-Rann.

Leon smiled at the two child like adults, but on the inside, he still had a frown.

Namyr let out a sigh as the next time she saw Rogueboy she was checking his jaw for any breaks or fractures. Already where Darr had hit him was beginning to bruise, "You really should have known better," she murmured to Rogueboy as she handed him an icepack from the medic bag.

'It was a joke how was I suppose to know he'd do that," Rogueboy complained, wincing as he put the ice against the back of his head.

"Luckily he didn't hit you any harder, or he would have snapped your jaw, and you would have been sipping your meals through a straw for the next six months," Namyr said gently applying salve to the bruise to keep the swelling down on Rogueboy's face. She then put everything back into her medic bag and was silent. Was Cerine even alive? Namyr had been wondering to herself. For all she knew her sister had been killed a long time ago. Namyr's small hands gripped her medic bag for a moment as she stared into space.

'Hey don't worry you're sister will be fine, if I have to tear that place apart we'll find her," Rogueboy said and Namyr looked at him wishing she could believe as much as he did that it would be that easy, but she did return his crooked smile with her own. They both looked up as the ship landed heavily on the planet.

"Well let's get going," Namyr said slinging the medic bag over her shoulder.

"Yeah, bout time we got a challenging mission, I've been getting stir crazy," Rogueboy said crackling his knuckles as him and Namyr walked out of the ship.

Namyr putt her hands on her hips and looked around. Everything was so dry, hot, and well, sandy. It reminded her back home on Ryloth, on the part of the planet that was light all the time. How many times had she and a group of her dancer friends gone to the surface to race along the surface, taking in the dangers. too many times for her to count. Namyr almost missed those carefree days, but didn't think on it too much as she took her position in the back of the formation, taking the left side as HH took the right. Both of them kept a constant eye out and the back of the line. Softly in Namyr's helmet, classical Twi'lek music played helping her not to become twitchy as they walked. suddenly she saw a signal from the corner of her eye and dropped down to the ground. Namyr had found out early on it was best to keep quiet during their marches, to save energy and in case something was up she could be more aware.

"So Darr-Rann, you know when were going to trade spots with each other? This pack is starting to get a little to heavy for my own taste," Leon asked over the open link and Namyr let out a chuckle, yes the med pack was heavy, but not as bad as the packs some of her squad mates were carrying.

They'll just bomb the crap out of us," Darr told Leon and Namyr made a note to keep her eyes a little more open to see if anyone was following her. Last thing the squad needed was to be ambushed from behind.

"Nah its alright, these packs don't weigh a thing," Leon replied as her easily swung the pack onto his back. Namyr chuckled as Sayah and HH groaned for the pack's weight.

"Ahhh, the privileges of being a lady," Namyr joked with a grin as she picked her feet out of the sand to keep them from sinking more.

"That doesn't mean a thing Namyr. I'm gonna make sure you do some muling later to," Rogueboy told Namyr and she could almost hear an ounce of smugness to his voice.

"Yes Rogueboy because I know if we get attacked and someone gets injured, getting to my medbag will be a little difficult consider I have an even heavier pack on my back," she growled. How could Rogueboy even think that she'd try to get out of carrying the packs on the bases she was a woman. That was the type of sexist behavior she was trying to avoid.

"Well Nams, you'll have to make due," Rogueboy replied, 'Everyone carries their share around here even the medics," he said, Namyr's point going right over his smug head. Instantly, Namyr's fingers began flexing, a bad sign.

"Fine, I'll do my share," she growled and roughly pulled off the pack from Rogueboy's back and slung it onto her shoulder. It was heavy, but bearable, good thing Namyr had been focusing on her upper body strength lately, "Can we go now?" Namyr hissed darkly heading back to the end of the line.

"Wait you didn't," Rogueboy began only to be silenced by Darr.

"Come on let's get moving," Darr spoke, a slight humorous edge to his voice as they started moving again.

The squad continued their march for the majority of the day and took a ten minute breather while relaxing in the shade of a nearby rock. Rogue elected himself for guard duty as the squad took a break and he watched the nearby hills with his macrobinoculars.

As he lowered them out of the corner of his eyes he captured some movement that hid behind a corner of the rock. He turned on his comlink and made a squad broadcast "This is Rogue I caught some movement at rest point A, going to investigate." Rogue closed the gap to the corner and as quietly as he made the turn. Immediately a figure jumped onto Rogue bringing his rifle upwards where he instinctively held the trigger firing futilely up into the sky. Rogue dropped his rifle as his training came into play, it would be useless at this range. The creature on top of him had bulging eyes, and a protruding jaw, Rogue smashed its jaw as hard he could with his fist but it opened its mouth and swallowed Rogue's fist, but it was unable to chew its way through the plastoid armour.

The ASL was lying on his back, a fist in the mouth of his assailant, and with Darr screaming into his ear to report. Rogue rolled over and came on top of the scuffle, but the creature refused to give him back the use of his arm. The VE trooper then head butted the creature; blinding it in one eye and momentarily stunning it, which he used to his advantage by using his left fist to smash it repeatedly in the head. The creature stopped moving, Rogue sighed and as he stood up (with his fist still stuck in the throat of the demon)

Two figures turned the corner and the Rogue was staring down the business end of two blaster rifles. "You guys want to lower those before I get a heart attack?" Said a slightly disturbed trooper.

"Holy craps, Rogue are you alright? That thing swallowed your fist." If Leon was not wearing his helmet Rogue would be able to see the wide-eyed surprised look.

"Does it look like I'm alright, I swear to the Force I think rigor mortis already set into this thing's jaw I can't pry it open. Slide the tip of your rifle into its mouth and use it as leverage."

Leon did as he was told and pushed down with all his strength and the animal's mouth opened with a loud wet crack as it was opened too wide. Rogue pulled out his arm and looked over the plastoid armour, there were indents along the wrist but the armour was not pierced.

"What kind of animal is that anyways?" Rogue asked, intent to know what was foolhardy enough to attack a group of armed soldiers.

Darr appeared seemingly out of nowhere. "It's a Bubo, those things wouldn't attack us without having something up its sleeve, make sure its dead." And Rogue did.

Namyr's back ached and she was glad to take a short rest. She had refused HH's offer to carry the pack three times already. but the heavy pack and the sand were taking their toll on Namyr. She was tired, she let out a small yawn and closed her eyes for a moment. Namyr's body tensed as Rogueboy's radio clicked on, "This is Rogue I caught some movement at rest point A, going to investigate," Namyr's eyes snapped open and she was quiet, barely breathing as she waited. As soon as Namyr heard shots fired, she was up, shouldering the packs, blades out and spinning as her and the rest of the squad headed over to where the shots were fired.

"Rogue, report are you alright?" Namyr vaguely heard Darr yelling through the radio. Namyr rounded the corner, only to skid to a halt as she looked from Rogue to the Bubo that was hanging off his fist. She let out a snort and had to turn away to get herself in control of her laughter. She had been worried over a Bubo, here she had thought it have been something else like a Lylek that inhabited the Bright Lands on Ryloth. With a small chuckle as she watched Leon struggle to pry the Bubo's mouth open, Namyr sheathed her blades and leaned against a wall.

"Might have been guarding something, or who knows maybe it was just a pet of one of the patrols," Namyr said and bit her lip. The pet of the patrol was a long shot, from what she knew of Hutts they were crazy over the ugly Bubo's and kept them as guard dogs and pets that hardly left their sides.

"Maybe it's a runaway," Namyr added a slight tinge of darkness to her voice as she crouched over the beast and used one of her blades to stab it in the skull.

I hate this place, thought Leon to himself as the squad trudged further on into enemy territory. Leon also happened to notice that the sun was beginning to set, and with it, the light started to get dimmer and dimmer. That definitely didn't do anything to raise Leon's mood.

One hour later

"Alright, I think its time for a little rest. What do you all say to that?" Said Darr-Rann, his voice breaking the silence and causing Leon to jump.

"Yea, a little rest wouldn't be to bad," said Sayah wearily.

Thank god, thought Leon as the squad trudged over to a nearby dune. Leon hastily took off the pack, and let it drop to the floor. The motion was a bit over exaggerated, but he just wanted to let everyone know how he felt. He then plopped his but onto the sand, and laid back. This was the first time he had the chance to relax all day, and he was going to take as much advantage as possible.

"Hey Leon, don't get to comfy. Two people have got to stay on guard duty, and I chose you and Aphamos for the first shift," said Darr, his voice breaking the silence.

Leon didn't let any emotion show when his squad leader gave him this assignment, but on the inside he was going nuts. Just when he had  managed to get some rest, he was sent back out on guard duty. Just my luck... Just my frikin luck Leon thought sarcastically to himself. He quickly got up from his position, took his rifle and a blanket, and moved out to the edge of camp. When he was done digging his sentry hole, he hopped in, turned his night vision on, and began scanning the dune seas.

It was just as plain and boring as it was during the day. It was just a bunch of sand, and the more Leon thought about it, the heavier his eyelids started to become.

Half an hour later

Nothing had changed, not a single sound could be heard, and not a single thing could be seen other then sand. Sand... Wow, I never realized how much I hated sand, thought Leon as he scanned the surroundings for what seemed like the sixth hundredth time. He was on the verge of going to sleep, but he had to fight it. He couldn't risk putting the squad at risk to any hidden dangers, and he didn't want to be the cause of that either. So Leon started to scan the horizon again, and this time something caught his eye. It was barely noticeable, but Leon new there was something moving under the sand.

"Aphamos, make your way over to my position. Bring your rifle to, I want you to see what I'm seeing,"
said Leon as quietly as he could. Seconds later his squad mate had arrived at his position. "You see that lump sticking out of the sand? Tell me if its moving," said Leon while pointing out the location of the moving lump.

Aphamos brought his rifle up to eye level, and zoomed in on the moving lump of sand. After a few seconds, he slowly turned his head to Leon. "Leon, theres more then one... I think we got a problem..."

Rogue pulled out the sword from his scabbard from under his bedroll and pointed it at his assailant's throat. The assailant's white helm seemed not to move as it stood facing the blade. "Rogue, we spotted some movement out in the dunes, we have reason to believe it's an enemy patrol."

The ASL rubbed his eyes trying to get the sand out of them. The Raiders had set up the tents beneath a rock that would offer some protection against freak sandstorms and and would make any viewers have to look twice in order to spot the three tents. "Did you rouse Darr from his slumber?" Rogue asked sleepily.

"Yes we did, he says we should prepare for a little ambush&"

Kegtua'Nballah was a Devaron whose skin shown like bronze as he and his squad patrolled the outskirts of Garra the Hutt's holdings. The job was boring but that's what happens when you gamble and owe people favours, the squad leader signalled that he saw something up ahead and that the team would go investigate it. How the SL was able to see anything in this mountain of sand he would never know. When they arrived at the tents the squad slowly crept their way up in an attempt to sneak up on the unsuspecting tentees.

Kegtua'Nballah had cleared out a tent and they squad met up in the middle of the camp, the place was deserted all three tents empty, there was no campfire so it would be hard to determine how old the camp is. Kegtua looked at the tracks it would appear that eight bipedal walkers arrived at the camp within the past two days, as there was a heavy sandstorm two days ago and the tracks would be covered up. Then the eight people disappeared as if by magic Kegtua began looking all over the camp for clues finally he stumbled upon something, as he took a step he heard the sound of his bootheel crushing something that was not sand. He quickly jumped off of it and bent down to investigate it when there was a slight hiss as something fast moved from a narrow hole and Kegtua's body crumpled to the floor.

The Raiders sprung into action, quickly throwing sand off of themselves and laying waste as quickly as they could to the five man scout team, the silenced slugthrower shells landed on the soft sand as Roguebot quickly gunned down another target. The battle was over in an instant as they were all killed with hardly any harm done to the Raiders.

Namyr's eyes instantly snapped open as she heard Leon come into the tent, and even from her spot on the far side of the tent she could taste his nervousness. She rolled to her feet and reached for her helmet, she quickly shoved it on her head, wincing as the sand scrapped against her Lekku. Namyr listened to Leon and then stepped out of the tent. Instantly she was handed a pair of binoculars from Aphamos and she took a look at the oncoming sentry. She then took a quick count, ten, outnumbered by two.

"How many?" Darr asked coming out of the tent, putting on his helmet as he went.

"Five, all of them riding Nexu's," Namyr murmured darkly. She had only seen Nexu in pictures but even then they still sent shivers up her spine.

Darr let out a string of curses, "Alright everyone grab a shovel, we're going to try and hid this out, and attack only if we have a chance," Darr said throwing shovel to each one of the Raiders.

"Tell you what, Garra must be pretty rich to get someone to train Nexu as guard dog," Rogueboy murmured as the squad began digging as fast as they could. He shook his head trying to forget in the Gladiator Arena seeing several people ripped apart by Nexu. They weren't a creature to mess around with.

"No offense but I'd take Nexu over Lyleks," Namyr said throwing a shovel full of sand over her shoulder, "One time one broke into the city. It-it was bad just believe me," Namyr said and went quiet and concentrated on shoveling. Her arms and back ached from carrying the pack for most of the day, but this wasn't time to complain about it.

After they had dug the hole, the squad took refuge in it, Darr was the last one it, spreading a sand colored tarp over the hole, but leaving enough room for the squad to look out.

"Think the Nexu will be able to smell us," Leon asked.

"Hope not, I'm really too pretty to be cut in half," Rogueboy murmured with a smirk as Namyr elbowed him to be serious. The squad waited in silence until they saw a boot pass by. Namyr held her breath as the boot stopped as it stepped on the tap making a slight crunching noise. Sweat started forming on Namyr's brow as the boot dropped down to a knee as she looked into the eyes of the sentry. Then a shot was fired right past her ear, Namyr turned and saw the shot was made by Leon. The sentry dropped heavily, instantly Namyr was caught up with the rest of the squad as they threw off the tarp and lept out of the hole.

"Leon, Aphamos, and me, get the guards, Rogue, Namyr, Sayah, Hard Hart, take care of the Nexu," Darr yelled over the radiolink.

"Hey Rogue think Darr will let us keep a Nexu as a pet," Namyr chuckled drawing out her blades as she ran towards the five beasts.

"Depends, you'll probably keep it in your apartment," Rogueboy joked back.

"Yeah I'm sure my landlord would enjoy that," Namyr said skidding to a halt and ducking to the side in time to miss the Nexu's claws. She spun around, blocking the other claw with one of her blades, as the other one came up impaling the creature in the throat. Namyr turned and saw the other Nexu had been taken care of and let out a breath of relief.

"Ugly devil," Leon said coming over to where HH, Rogue, Sayah, and Namyr were dragging the bodies to cover in sand. Last thing they needed was them to be found.

"Yeah only a face their mother could love," Rogueboy said and the squad looked up as Darr came over.

"No use moving tonight, there's too many dangers for us to get into," Darr said inspecting the campsite, "We'll leave the camp as a distraction move South," he said and everyone began packing what they needed and moved a half mile away from the original campsite.

"Right, Rogueboy, Sayah you have next watch, everyone else, keep an eye open when you sleep, you never know if they might send more people," Darr said as everyone settled down on their ground mats. After a while Namyr found herself still wide awake long after the snores of her rest of her squad echoed around their make-shift camp. Slowly she got up and tipped toed around her squad mates and headed to over where Rogueboy was sitting.

"Hey need some company, couldn't sleep," Namyr said sitting down before Rogueboy had a chance to say anything.

"Sure sit down on the sand castle I was making," Rogueboy said and grinned, "So what's up?"

"Nothing, just too much tension around, it's driving my senses batty," Namyr said, even as the people in her squad slept she could sill taste their emotions. Which explained why she never got any sleep when they were on missions.

"Oh yeah the whole taste thing, I forget sometimes," Rogueboy said scanning the area for any enemies. One night out drinking Namyr had tried to explain to Rogueboy how her sixth sense worked, but she had a feeling he didn't really get it or the explanation went over his head. Either way he sometimes abused her sixth sense to see if a nearby girl was into him while they were at the bars and clubs.

"You know Cerine, she was the nice sibling, the one that always tried to stop us from fighting, really stood next to my mother and father," Namyr said bringing up the subject that had been on her mind since the ship had landed. "I mean she was even able to keep my younger sisters Beatrice and Jeanie in line, and they were the family's black sheep. Beatrice and Jeanie are Bounty Hunters now, they took off once Cerine had been sold. the family sort of fell apart after she was gone. I guess I stayed around trying to replace Cerine, then once my parents tired to sell me I took off, i would be taken like her. I had escaped being a slave once, I wasn't going back to that life. That's how I got the tattoos, the guy I was sold to liked to brand his slaves so everyone knew they were his. Underneath my tattoos are my former master's emblem. I tatooed them over once I escaped," Namyr said feeling uncomfortable by Rogueboy's stares as she went into a little bit of her past, something she hardly did ever. Namyr looked down at the sand as she picked up a handful and watched is flow through her fingers.

"That's some pretty screwed up poodoo," Rogueboy murmured looking over the landscape as small ribbons of light began to sparkle over the horizon.

"Yeah, that's why I hated you when I first came to the squad, I thought that you were a former-slaver, or maybe a slaver in diguise, when you spoke Huttese. Mainly because the only people I knew who spoke huttese were slavers, so I made assumptions" Namyr said, Rogueboy's shock registering on her tongue, "You have to understand I was pretty paranoid, you would be too if you were consitered a gold mine to the slaver's market. So I just want to apologize for that. I mean you're a great friend Rogueboy," Namyr said her cheeks flushing dark red and she turned her head as Darr walked up to them.

"Ready to roll out?" Darr asked.

Namyr's history surprised Rogueboy he had never suspected that she would of lived such a harsh life, as a matter of fact he thought she was running from an arranged marriage or something. Now that the truth has unfolded it explained many things such as; why Namyr was so reluctant to trust anyone, naturally Rogue thought it was because she was such a beautiful girl. In order for her parents to try to sell her that must be a serious blow.  Darr came upon the duo. "Ready to roll out?" The SL asked.

"Always, sergeant." The ASL said.

Darr walked away and Namyr turned to Rogue. "You know you're a sergeant as well right?" She pointed out.

"I may be a sergeant but he will always be The Sergeant." Rogue responded back. "Namyr there is something I've been meaning to tell you, I uh& uh& used to be a slave as well." Namyr's eyes widened at this. "I was owned by Zorba the Hutt since I was fourteen; I was raised to be a gladiator. I killed a lot of people enough that I someday earned my freedom by making a deal with Zorba." Rogue suddenly felt ashamed, he didn't know why it's not as if he could have done anything different under those circumstances.

"Hey, don't worry about it," Namyr said as she put her hand on Rogue's shoulder. "We do what we have to, to live."

"Sometimes dying seems a more attractive option." He responded as a shiver seemed to roll through him. "Let's start packing up the gear, this isn't going to get easier playing in the sand." Rogue said a shadow of a grin playing across his features.

Within an hour the squad was ready to move out; the bodies were buried, the tents were packed up and awaiting carriers, and the campsite was dusted to cover any tracks that showed where we were. Rogue looked at the former campsite and carefully looked for traces of habitation; none were evident.

The squad was trudging through the snow Aphamos had taken point with his trust sniper rifle, Leon had taken the rearguard and was also in charge of covering the squads tracks. Which he used a handy tool called the Hide-away deluxe, which was an extendable broom the majority of troopers joking associatted with something else that was extendable.

Sayah was grinning while staring at Rogue, "Sayah you have a problem?" Rogue said in a menacing tone to signal that any response other then a negative one would have serious repercussions.

"No, Sir." Sayah replied snappishly.

"Then wipe that grin off of your face while you still have control over it." The ASL said without a hint of humour in his voice, while he did get into a fist fight with a trooper Darr punished him by putting him back in basic for a week. It was torture.

The squad marched away in the morning sun which seemed to reflect off the sand and made the journey that much more unbearable.

Steady... C'mon Leon, you got this, just hold for a second, Leon told himself as the enemy trooper drew nearer to Namyrs position.  He wanted to get rid of the trooper already, he wanted action, and he wanted it now. But it was still to early to give away the squads position. Leon watched as the hesitant trooper took cautious steps, constantly scanning his surroundings. Leon had to calm himself, and started to take deep, slow breaths. It helped a little bit and calmed his nerves.

NOW! Just as the trooper was about to step onto Namyrs fox hole Leon pulled the trigger. A streak of blood red shot out of Leon's barrel, and went clean through the enemy troopers head.  Followed by Leon's shot, the rest of the squad jumped out of there hiding spots, and started to rain down hell on the enemy. It was over in a matter of seconds- the small patrol group didn't even put up a fight.

A brief wave of satisfaction swept over Leon. The strong craving inside of him for a fight was filled just a little bit, but that little bit would keep Leon going. For the first time during the mission, he was excited. He wasn't in a down mood either- more fights were to come, and they were coming soon.

Ten Minutes Later

The squad had finished packing, and Leon had received a new code name- The Sweeper. Rogue had told him that it was his job to make sure that there tracks were wiped clean, and Leon would excel at this small task. He would excel at everything he was assigned to do, even if it was as simple as sweeping sand. Another thing that made him somewhat happy was that he was placed in the rear guard, no longer serving as a mule.

Leon toyed with the extendable broom, and made perverted gestures that made some of his fellow squad mates crack up. He was soon told to stop though by his squad leader Darr-Rann.

"Alright Raiders, lets get moving," said the squad leader.

This was also the signal for Leon to begin sweeping, and he swept. He was doing a damn good job to. Leon made sure every step, was swept clean of the sand. But he didn't make it seem to suspicious either- He had to keep in mind that if it were to neat, it would be to suspicious, and that if it were to light a sweep, a hint of a boot mark might still be there. So he had to make it blend in. Leon would just sweep in all directions, that way there wouldn't be a specific pattern.

Leon had to admit, he enjoyed being called "The Sweeper."

Namyr bit her lip and picked up her helmet on as she stood up to get ready to march. Already the sun was starting to beat on them, and Namyr felt on edge already from the combination of heat and thirst. "You know you're a sergeant as well right?" Namyr asked Rogueboy after overhearing the conversation between him and Darr. Delicately she tucked her Lekku around her neck to allow her to put her helmet on comfortably.

"I may be a sergeant but he will always be The Sergeant." Rogue responded back. "Namyr there is something I've been meaning to tell you, I uh& uh& used to be a slave as well," Namyr tired to keep her face expressionless but she noticed Rogueboy watching her face and without wanting to her eyes went wide. "I was owned by Zorba the Hutt since I was fourteen; I was raised to be a gladiator. I killed a lot of people enough that I someday earned my freedom by making a deal with Zorba," Namyr was surprised, not shocked, but pretty surprised. She had always figured that Rogue had, perhaps been a slave and escaped just like she had. She had seen him without a shirt enough times to see the scars, and everytime she did she winced. she couldn't help it, she had felt the stinging blows from a cruel master as well, and she wanted to reach out and help Rogueboy, but always held back, it just didn't seem right. To be a slave, basically meant being alone for the rest of your life. It just how it was, it was so hard to trust anyone after being a slave. To be a slave was to suspect anyone who would rat on you for a piece of bread, or make up lies for the Master's approval. Namyr had seen people try to have families as Slaves, she saw no point, they only ended up being ripped apart in the end.

"Hey, don't worry about it," Namyr said putting a hand on Rogueboy's shoulder, it was the only way she could think of comforting him. Namyr looked up and frowned as she saw Sayah looking at the both of them and grinning at her and Rogueboy. Namyr sneered at him until he looked away. Then Namyr turned back to Rogue, "We do what we have to, to live," and Namyr knew for a fact that was true.

"Sometimes dying seems a more attractive option." Rogueboy replied and Namyr felt him shiver through her hand on his shoulder. She took her hand away and looked around, the sun was higher and everyone was packing the equipment, they would roll out soon, "Let's start packing up the gear, this isn't going to get easier playing in the sand," Rogueboy said a slight grin on his face which Namyr returned before she set to work packing her things.

Namyr quickly put together the packs, it was easy enough, the heavier things near the middle of the back, everything else crammed into them. When she looked up from her task as she shouldered one of the pack despite her sore body from the day before, everyone was ready to roll out. Namyr smirked as Leon held the expendable broom in his hand.

"So Leon," Namyr said crossing her arms and watched as Leon extended the broom slightly below the belt, "Happy to see me."

"Ha, Ha, Nams," Leon chuckled as he began sweeping, 'You know this would be awkward if you were giving sweeping detail."

"Yeah, but I'm better served as a pack mule, you know see the galaxy, carry a pack twice your weight, that's what got me to sign on to the Empire."

"Isn't that the truth," Leon said with a smirk.

"So Sargent, do you like watching...Squad..use the broom," Namyr looked up only catching few words of what Sayah was murmuring from a few people up the line. She frowned, she must have heard wrong, even if Sayah was glancing back with a cocky grin on his face. The heat had to be getting to Namyr, after all she was really thirsty, and it had been years since she had been under this type of terrain. She turned her head away from Sayah's grinning face to look at her feet as she walked. It was going to take her months to get rid of all the sand in her uniform, maybe she should just purchase a new one...

Namyr looked up again and sighed in relief, Sayah had stopped looking at her. She didn't know what his problem was, she had a suspicion it was due to being a woman, or even being a higher rank and considered beautiful. Heck maybe it was because she never gave him the time of day, who knew, human males were strange when it came to Twi'lek women, Rogueboy including. Namyr couldn't count how many times when they were out drinking that Rogueboy had 'addicentally,' tripped into her to take a grab at her chest, no matter how many times Namyr had bent his hand back to remind him not to touch, and everytime he would just give her his charming smile, until Namyr rolled her eyes and walked away.

"Sayah you have a problem?" Rogueboy's voice suddenly echoed through the comlink. Namyr peered over the person in front of her's shoulder to get a better look at what was going on. She knew that tone that Rogueboy was using, it was the one he used when someone would try to start trouble at the bar.

"No, Sir," Sayah replied snappishly, though the grin was still quivering on Sayah's face.

"Then wipe that grin off of your face while you still have control over it," Rogueboy growled his voice void of the usual humourous tones. Instantly Namyr could feel the tension in the air, she tensed up herself, almost half expecting Rogueboy and Sayah to start brawling right there in formation. But Sayah must have managed to stop grinning and the line went on. Around midday, Namyr was glad to take a breather underneath the shade of rock cropping out of the sand. The pack was shrugged off of her shoulders, Namyr took a long swig of her canteen, a few drops of water dribbling down her chin, which she wiped away with her glove.

'Think it might be hot out today," Rogueboy joked sitting down next to Rogueboy, Leon following and sitting on Namyr's other side.

"Reminds me of the Light Side of Ryloth," Namyr said taking off her helmet and whipping away the sweat on her face with a handkerchief, "As teens we use to steal our parent's cruiser and take it out onto the Bright Lands and see what trouble we could get into. But I don't remember it being this hot," Namyr added taking another sip of her water.

"No kidding get a grill out here and we can have a Bar-B-Q," Leon murmured into his canteen as he settled against the cool rock behind them.

'That's an idea Leon, we can grab some burgers, a couple kegs, have a Bar-B-Que," Rogueboy said perking up at the joke.

"I'll bring the coleslaw and the Rycrit burgers," Namyr volunteered then laughed a little.

"So, 'Sir,' do you always talk nonsense on missions, or is that all the time," Sayah said the cocky grin on his face reappearing.

"That's it, this guy has gotten on my nerves this entire mission," Rogueboy growled leaping to his feet, throwing off his helmet and gloves and rushing forward, only to be halted by Namyr and Leon holding him back.

"Rogue, it's not worth it, you're just tired, let him go," Namyr said struggling to keep Rogueboy from attacking Sayah.

"Yeah he's not worth going to the brig anyway," Leon added his voice strained.

"Besides he's nothing, rise above him Rogue you're better then that," Namyr said and Rogueboy went limp in her and Leon's arms.

"That's right listen to the Twi'lek, if I was getting into her pants I'd listen to her too," Sayah sneered. Namyr's cheeks turned dark, almost purple from anger.

"That's it!" Namyr yelled out charging at Sayah, cursing him in Twi'leki as she tackled him to the ground and punched him square in the nose. Seconds later Rogueboy had followed her and slammed his elbow into Sayah's back when Sayah tried to get up and hit Namyr. Before the fight had even started Namyr felt herself being dragged away by Leon, she glanced over and saw Rogueboy having to be dragged away by both Aphamos and Darr. Namyr brushed herself off, getting back her composure, grinning on the inside at the site of Sayah's bloody nose.

"What in the hell is wrong with you two!" Darr practically screamed at Rogueboy and Namyr.

"Erm, the heat, the heat must be getting to us," Namyr murmured looking ashamed, but didn't really feel it, it had been so good to hit Sayah.

"Yeah, the heat is making us short tempered, sorry Sayah, don't know what came over me," Rogue murmured glancing at Namyr. Namyr glanced at him and gave him a look that told him not to say anything on what Sayah said. Last thing she wanted was for Darr to think there was even more going on between her and Rogueboy, it was awkward enough as it was. Plus, if she was proving to be too much of a distraction for the squad she would be moved, and Namyr loved the Raiders they were her family and she didn't want to give them up for some stupid brawl.

Ok,  this isn't that fun anymore, thought Leon as he kept on sweeping. It started to get boring after the first half an hour, and to make things more entertaining, Leon had even made his own song to the sweeping sounds of the broom. But that also died out, and soon the squad was left again in silence. After another hour or two, impatience, fatigue, and the heat were starting to get to the squads heads. Tempers were rising, and Leon listened as Rogue and Sayah exchanged insults.

Thankfully, and to the squads fortune, the Raiders Squad Leader finally felt they had marched long enough and let the squad have there well deserved break.

"Think it might be hot out today," joked Rogueboy while plopping down on the sand. Leon followed suit, letting his legs collapse from underneath him, and the same with Namyr.

"Reminds me of the light side of Ryloth," said Namyr, taking off her helmet and whipping away the sweat on her face with a hanker chief, "As teens we used to steal our parents cruiser and take it out onto the bright lands and see what trouble we could get into. But I don't remember it being this hot," added Namyr taking another sip from her canteen...

Five minutes later...

"Damnit Namyr calm down!" Shouted Leon as he struggled to pull Namyr off of Sayah. She was a tough cookie, Leon would definitely give her that.

"Whats wrong with you two?!" Shouted Darr-Rann as he made his way over to the brawling squad mates. "You three better start sharpening up, I don't want to be the one to give you guys punishment. Now lets start acting like a real squad, don't let this heat get to you," finished Darr-Rann as he signaled for the squad to move out.

Leon quickly put his helmet on, and bent over to pick up his broom- That broom had just saved Leon's life. A blaster bolt had whizzed directly over his hunched up body. Instinctively, Leon dived out of the way, three more shots just barely missing him. Leon turned his head to the right, but saw nothing.

"Leon move!" Shouted Darr-Rann, followed by fire from his own gun. Again Leon's life was saved, but this time by his squad leader. Another trio of bolts had come from behind Leon this time, and he barely managed to get out of the way- One of the bolts even managing to put a black scorch mark on his desert colored armour.

Leon quickly turned around, looking for the assailants that had nearly taken his life away. He spotted them, and it  turned out to be a patrol group of only twelve bodies- The only difference was that this time they were on Speeders. Leon let off a couple of shots that weren't intended for any of his targets, just warning shots to keep there heads down.

He then sprinted full speed to the boulder that the rest of the squad had hidden behind.

"Keep the fire going while I come up with a plan!" Shouted Darr-Rann over the gun fire.

"Well you better hurry up, because there about to flank us!" Shouted Leon as he let off some more shots.

"Rogue, a word." Darr said his anger hardly in check.

The ASL made his way over to Darr out of earshot from the squad. "Rogue what is your problem? I promote you to ASL and instead of being more responsible you become more reckless. I have no choice but to recommend you for a week in clink."

Rogue was shocked that Darr would throw him in the brig for a small incident like lashing out on a slack mouthed trooper. Rogue's mouth was dry as he spoke. "Why Darr?"

"Because someone needs to keep you in line believe me this is for your own good." Darr said.

"Would you put a dog down and tell him its for its own go&" A blaster bolt that missed Leon by inches interrupted Rogue.

The ASL ran for cover behind a rock and met up with the rest of the Raiders. "How many of them are there?" He asked through the comlink.

"About fifteen on speeder bikes." Leon said.

"I'm jamming their comlinks." Darr said as he played with the technical aspect of battle.

A slight humming filled the air as the enemy began closing the angles on their would-be prey. Namyr pulled the pin off a grenade and sent it around the corner; there was an explosion and the front end of a speeder bike flew by nearly removing Rogue's outstretched head.

"Fourteen left." Rogue said as enemy fire ripped into the rock destroying it pebble by pebble.

1&2&3 GO Rogue slowly counted in his head as he turned around the corner and fired a barrage from his A280 armour piercing rifle hoping to hit any enemy unlucky enough to get in its way. Sure enough a speeder bike turned the corner spinning wildly out of control the rider jumped off and landed in the sand with a thud pulling out his sidearm. The enemy had all of two seconds to live as half the Raider squad filled him with blaster bolts.

Seeing the death of their compatriots the half of the remaining bikes watched the front end of the rock whilst the rest went to go circle the trapped Raiders. One of the attacking speeders took off heading back from where they came.

"Darr, I just saw an enemy speeder take off going southeast." Aphamos said as he stuck his head around the bend almost losing his life while doing so.

"That's it." Rogueboy said. "I'm tired of us almost losing our lives every time we look around the corner." He pulled his sword from its scabbard; using his filthy gloved hand he removed a piece of chewing gum from his mouth. "Namyr gimme your handheld mirror." The Twi'lek did what was asked of her. The ASL attached the mirror to the gum and used it as a spotter.

Rogue looked around the corner using his mirrored sword. "There are four of them coming around the corner&NOW!" He yelled as he lifted the sword and swung it at the rider using the flat end of his sword. The mounted enemy combatant flew onto the ground; dazed but unharmed. The ASL quickly jumped on the speeder and took off into pursuit of the escaping enemy. "Darr, I'm going to chase after their messenger boy."

"Alright but be careful two of them broke away from the engagement to chase you." Darr said with a strain in his voice.

"You know I can handle them. I hope." Rogue said as he pushed down on his toe to push the speeder to full throttle in order to catch up.

Leon didn't even think about aiming the rifle at the dazed trooper, his rifle just came up, and fired into the troopers head. Leon turned back around to see Namyr just staring at him, her eye's masked behind the Storm Trooper helm.

"Is there something wrong Namyr?"

"No... no nothing at all. C'mon we gotta take the rest of these guys out," finished Namyr as she stuck her head over the rock to get a better look at the enemy's positions.

Leon did the same, followed by the rest of the squad. From what Leon could see, there were only nine left. Nine improperly trained Speeder Bike Pilots.

"This wasn't as hard as I expected," said Namyr, talking to no one in general, "I thought they would of put up more of a fight, but I guess I was wrong," finished Namyr with a cocky smirk.

"Yea, I guess you were. From the looks of it, it seems to be that there taking a quick break, probably coming up with a plan to try and take us out. Unfortunately for them, I came up with one first," said Darr-Rann over the squad channel. "Leon, you probably don't remember, but before you lost your memory you used to be a little bit... how should I say this... suicidal," Darr-Rann said with some hesitation in his voice. "You would do things such as draw fire to yourself to distract the enemy, and give us time to flank the-"

"So you want me to run about, waving my arms in the air, and shout: 'Shoot me shoot me!' And then you guys will basically flank them and take them out before they can get me," interrupted Leon, already having an idea of what this plan would consist of.

"Well... no, not exactly. Its actually a little bit safer then that. And this time, it consists of two people, and those two people are going to be you, and Namyr."

Namyr turned her head in surprise. "Me? Shouldn't we get Sayah and Hard Hard't to do it? I mean there the newbies, if they die, at least we still have a chance of completing the mission," said Namyr, adding a soft chuckle at the end. She also received warning glances from the two Privates, but ignored them.

"No, I figured I'd let the experienced troopers do it. So basically, Leon is going to take the left side, Namyr, you're going to take the right," Darr-Rann tapped his desert colored armor, "This is when the armor comes in handy. You're going to get as deep in the sand as you can before they begin the attack run. As soon as they pass you two, burst out of the sand and rain down hell on them. And from the looks of it, there not used to real live combat situations, so that most likely means there going to panic. Panic results in disaster, and that will most likely result in there defeat. You two got that?" Darr-Rann asked, and just as Leon and Namyr were going to open there mouths, he interrupted them. "Good, now get going."

Leon keyed a private channel with Namyr as he started sprinting full speed from behind the rock. About fifty yards out in front of the rock, Leon dived and started to squirm into the sand as if he were a giant worm. He then called over to Namyr though the head-set intercom.

"Everything all set over there Nams?"

Namyr took a second to catch her breath, and then replied. "Yea, everything set. I hope this plan works out to our advantage," said Namyr, panting the whole way.

"Heh, yea, I hope so to. Look here they come," said Leon as he spotted the incoming speeders. They were spread out into a wide skirmish line, the three middle speeders falling slightly back. But it didn't look like it would be to hard of a job to handle, and Leon soon became confident.

The Speeder Bikes started to grow larger and larger as they approached the Raiders squad. In a matter of seconds, they would shoot past Leon and Namyr, and the plan would spring into action.

Just breathe Leon... breathe...

Leon slowly closed his eyes, zoning out from the world around him. He took in a deep breath, and then exhaled. Like a Tatooine sand storm, the sounds of the world rushed in around him, and a gust of wind blew his sand cover off of him, signaling that the Speeders had passed.

Leon quickly jumped up from his hiding spot and spun around, his rifle raised and ready to fire. In that split second he had sighted one of the Speeder Pilots, and let fourth a red bolt of lightning from the tip of his barrel. The blaster bolt hit the Pilot square in the back, and came out clean through the other side.

Leon smirked, it was a perfect shot.

Now, it was time to set this baby on full auto. Leon lightly pressed his finger on the trigger, and let blaster bolts spew out of his rifle. The fire from behind did exactly what Darr had wanted it to do, and the enemy were in complete and utter shock. Before they had time to react, three more of them were quickly cut down. One of the kills coming from Namyr, and the other two coming from the other Raiders.

Leon kept his finger pressed on the trigger, sending out red bolts in all directions. Namyr did the same, and the two of them watched as the enemy fell apart. A couple of seconds later, the rest of the Speeder bike Pilots had been cut down.

The only problem was, Rogue hadn't showed up.

Namyr bit her lip as a blaster bolt cut into her shoulder, luckily she rolled behind a rock in time to miss several more blaster shots aimed at her. Her shoulder stung, but a few inches lower the shot would have pierced her heart, killing her. Namyr let out a small growl as she pulled the pin out of grenade and threw it at hard as she could. She smiled in satisfaction as it bounced and exploded one of the speeders. Her arm shot out in time to pull Rogueboy away from the front end of the speeder almost hit his head.

"Fourteen to go," Rogueboy announced while Namyr's fingers itched to use her sword instead she took out her blaster and began returning fire.

"Namyr gimmie your handheld mirror," Rogueboy suddenly cut in, quickly Namyr dug into her medic bag to pull out the mirror she used to make sure people were still breathing and handed it to Rogueboy before going back to shooting.

"Darr, I'm going to chase after their messenger boy," Rogueboy said after he knocked one of the scouts off a speeder, then took off before Namyr could say anything.

"Rogue, don't be a dumbass and get yourself killed," Namyr murmured into a private link before going back and shooting. She took a step back as Leon shot the dazed scout in the face. She stared at Leon a moment never seeing the younger solider so brutal.

"Is there something wrong Namyr?" Leon asked curiously.

"No, no nothing at all, C'mon we gotta take the rest of these guys out,"" Namyr gulped looking around the rock at the rest of the speeders.

Then a few minutes later and a plan made by Darr, Namyr found herself running out into the open, cursing in Twi'lek as she did so. The speeders flew past her and Leon, aiming her blaster Namyr manged to hit on as the rest of them were taken out by the rest of the squad. Namyr and Leon headed back to where the rest of the Raider's were. She looked around a frowned.

"Rogue not back yet?" she questioned and only got people shaking their heads no. Namyr frowned even more, feeling a swell of worry but hid it by leaning against the rock, she chewed on her lip quietly before she headed off to help clean up the bodies.
