I got $70 Dollars and im lookin for a good MMORPG. (Not WoW)[Dont got the money for monthly]

The Guild Wars game play is somewhat similar to most MMOs, though this is one MMO that has a story line that one can progress through. When the story is done you can just do other quests or you don't even have to do the story at all.
Also, When one leaves a city or town they are in their own personal instance that nobody else can enter, but a group of players can enter the same instance if they are in the same party. From there friends can quest together and adventure.
I would just like to say that this description doesn't exactly give justice to the game. It is far to brief and there is far more to it.
On another note, currently Rizzit, Yillis, and myself are in the Prophecies game. That way you can hang with us. -----------------------

I used to be a heavy heavy GuildWars gamer. There are two aspects of GuildWars you must consider before you get the game:
1) GuildWars does have a good storyline, and you can put in many hours trying to just complete the first GuildWars game storyline by itself, not to mention Factions (which has a considerably shorter storyline), and then the new and second addition: GuildWars - Nightfall. All in all, the storyline is really good. My opinion. So, if you're in it for the storyline, you're good to go here.
2) GuildWars has grown to be a very competitive PvP game. I spent most of my time in the RPG stages and then later transferred all of my attention to PvP. I used to be in a top 35 guild (Section One [One]), but ended up having to stop playing with them because I couldn't commit to the weekly scheduled gameplay times.
In regards to PvP - if you're this type of gamer, I suggest thinking about whether or not to purchase GuildWars. If you are a hardcore PvP player, it will be necessary for you to purchase the original GuildWars, GuildWars: Factions, and the new GuildWars: Nightfall that will be coming out. If you are without any of these titles (together at the same time), the competitive guilds will not let you join, or you will have a difficult time trying to join a competitive guild. With every competitive guild I've been in, we've made it a requirement for those wanting to join to have all expansions and all skills/runes/mods unlocked, or at least a good 90% of them unlocked for all classes.
PvP gamers will have to unlock all skills, runes, and mods for every single class (Or you can probably play $70 and unlock all skills for Warrior, Ranger, Necromancer, Ritualist, Assassin, Mesmer, Elementalist, Monk). Along with this, you will most definately also need to unlock all skills, etc., for the new classes: Paragon and Dervish. There are already new builds that incorporate the new class skills, and those without Nightfall and its skills will be at a definate disadvantage when it comes to GvG battles.
From my experience, those that get in the high standings on the ladder are those that exploit the power and combos of the new skills right from the get-go. It's easy to get top - the challenge is defending your title. -----------------------

Question:
Is the game worth getting? I have a few spare bucks (grandparents are coming) and I want to get a good game that will last me a good amount of time. And if it is worth buying, should I just get the first one, or the first one, Factions, and the soon to be released Nightfall (meaning all three of them)? -----------------------

Aphamos, if you want to get GuildWars, you'll certainly have to get the original first. Although each "expansion" is an independent game of its own, they all have the same theme and characters from a previous version appear in the new ones. I quote 'expansion' because the games are not really expansions in themselves. One does not follow the other in a storyline sense.
I would get the original, though, and start buying the next versions as you go on. I say this mainly because each version (although there are some skills that have been cloned/duplicated) has a list of skills, and I've noticed that there are several skills in the original that do not appear (have the same affect/description) as those in the newer versions. And honestly, some of the older skills are a lot better than the new ones. -----------------------

Notice how in both system requirements it requires a somewhat decent ATI Radeon or GeForce graphics card. I have a Radeon x700 Pro (about $175), and that'll pretty much keep me up to date for "most" games. If your computer has the standard Intel graphics card or whatever, your graphics in-game will look like a Picasso piece. -----------------------

Dont buy it at wall mart it is $10 over priced.
