I'm not such a big fan of Bay as a director. Most of his movies haven't been that great in my opinion. However, I have always been a fan of the Transformers, for as long as I can remember. It is my hope that the movie stays true to the original cartoon/toy series and doesn't get too 'out there' as far as everything else. I'm hoping for good, clean special effects that are highly believable and the classic good-vs-evil plot that we've all come to expect from the Transformers.

Trailer doesn't show or say much. The footage brought back from Mars revealed their presence there. Doesn't mean that's their origin.

Probably uses Mars because that's the farthest we've been able to effectively go and take photographs.

Although of course that wouldnt have been so interesting . . .

Also the beagle 2 wasn't a rover, it was a stationary package of experiments, also it was capable of taking images, not sending back movies. But hey, this film already looks so awful it could do with some poetic liscense

I love transformers, and if michael bay doesn't mess this up, we're going to have a very awesome good vs evil movie.

I am not so sure about this being made into a live action feature length film. It would take one heck of a good director to make this worthwhile. You figure the original Transformer fans are in their late 20's now... plus you have the younger fans that have rediscovered the coolness.  That is a large crowd to not piss off.

At comic con one of the first limited edition items to sell out were the transformer trucks. I was standing in line for 30 min to pick up mine and I only grabbed one thinking they would still be there the next day. Course I grabbed two of the Star wars limited editions (there were two this year). They didn't sell out, Transformers however did.

Very dangerous ground to tread on. I am interested to see what happens unfortunately I am pretty set for disappointment. I really hope I am wrong.  I remember when I was knee high to a grass hopper my mom bought me the whole series on tape *sigh* back in the day when the toys were still made of metal.

There's going to be some stupid romantic storyline like all his movies, with cheap action scenes and headshots of all the pretty people.

Most people make the common misconception that the movie is about the attack on Pearl Harbor, when in fact, it is about Ben Afflect's face.
