At the start of the ESC, I said I would sit on the sidelines and simply watch and score. However, the ESC is a very exciting time and simply sitting on the sidelines gets tiring after a while :P Therefore, I submit three proposals to the members of the navy and will live with their decision.
1. I become an active pilot in the competition for my squadron (which is Nazgul).
2. I become an active pilot in the competition but not for a particular squadron.
3. I remain a non-participant.
If options 1 or 2 is selected by the navy members then I will arrange for hopefully Rizzit to score any of my creativity submissions as I do not believe that I should be allowed to grade my own creativity.

Art would not be aloud to send in things for creativity unless they were judged by Rizz or Japheth, I beleive he said- thus, things would not change. He would not be creating any bias by helping our squadron out in his writing and enjoying the ESC for himself. In fact, if we're talkin Art here, he'd probably be more harsh on us than anyone else to keep himself from looking bias- get to know the guy and you'll see first hand what I mean.
Other than personal worries about how 'fair' things are, I'm going to say that he actually deserves to be here as much as any one of us. If you'd like to see what he was put through to try and keep Nazgul alive before it's early demise, you can go to our website and check it out in our record, otherwise I suppose a lot of self-sacrifice and personal disappointment with the rest of the VEN will do. He's fought long and hard to see this day and I for one do not want to see it squandered before him of all people- he will not be bias and if you believe there is any point at all where he is becoming so: let it be known and it will be dealt with. Thats my two cents. -----------------------

Sorry Art. I really dont mean to sound like I'm trying to go against you. My interest is mearly in keeping the ESC balanced. Option number two (Joining as an independent) might be the best option. Nazgul is currently in the most favourable situation for members, adding one more to the squadron wouldnt make be fair to Kaph or Aegis. -----------------------

Thank you for all your feedback and indeed I know that Demonic and DJ have a very good point. It is because of that that I undertook this course to get the navy's feedback on this. Factoring out my own squadron, it is fairly evenly split between option 1 and 2. I will give this some thought and come back with my response. In the meantime, my laptop's demise means I lost the scoring system so unless Shaz sends me the copy I sent him I have to make it all over again. Even if he still has it, I have to re-enter all the data so my participation will be delayed.

I have decided to compete as an independent. Should I produce any creativity, which is unlikely, arrangements will be made for someone impartial to grade my work. This will not affect my administration of the ESC in anyway. While I will be an independent, I will write as a member of Nazgul as that is my squadron. My posts will not count for their total or score. -----------------------
