If not, try jIRC, it might actaully be able to connect you to holonet after it tries the reguar servers. If that is the case, you might have something wrong with the way the holonet server is set up on the IRC client. If you are unable, then it is the network you are on that might prevent you from connecting.

Alan, if you really want to get on IRC. Use javaChat (even thoug hit may not be your too lof choice)
It'll take a minute or two to connect, as it has to find a working server. it's uch slower than usaul. But you can get on that way.

We decided to go ahead and setup a new IRC server. With the old IRC server being highly unstable and now that it looks like the hosting company is off the map, we thought it would be a good time to do that as Talon is away for a few months.
The new IRC server IP address is the following:
72.20.28.232
The following host names have been configured to work with the new IRC server:
irc.imperialnetwork.com
irc.vastempire.com
It might take 12-24 hours for the host names to be fully converted over to the new IP address. So for the time being, you can just use the IP address of the IRC server until the DNS server changes have been fully propagated through the networks.
