Hey, sorry about being inactive. I was ready to do something when I joined but nothing was going on. So i got busy with real life and forgot about it. I just now read an email from Cyanus saying that a series of stories and missions are starting and I needed to post. SO, all I need now is someone to tell me what to do/what is going on. |

There is a reward component to the first mission. I'll try to get Mara to agree to let me promote the most active trooper on the first mission to fire team captain. This means more power than the average trooper. Who wants it?!
I'll also work on mission rewards.

This is my pre-campaign brief/motivational speech.
I wonder if Mara will give one.
We're about to embark on a war of our very own. That means it's time to gear up for increased activity, otherwise known as getting cocked, locked, and ready to rock.
Being active until the mission launches means doing whatever you want (but it better not be nothing!) and noting it in your weekly report, due on Fridays unless you're on leave or you give me a viable excuse.
Once the missions start, you're expected to post, post, and post some more. Make them useful; I hate filler (useless junk) posts. I don't care what other squads' policies are on this, you're not in them.
I won't give quotas; I'll ask for them; however much work you think you can put in that week, indicate that in the Friday report of the week before. I know some people are busier than others, but I do expect that if you say you can only post 2 times this week, you will post 2 times this week. Don't make promises you can't keep, especially to me.
Budding fireteam leaders: being a fireteam leader doesn't just mean bossing around the lower ranking members and getting extra pay. It means leading a group of troops into battle and bringing them home, preferably alive. If I had my way, I wouldn't just pick the most active trooper to be FTL. I'd look for leadership potential, someone who helps others post, answers the more obvious questions (anything you don't know goes up the chain of command), and helping write reports, among other things.
"Not good at this stuff?" So what? All that hard work you put in isn't going to waste. You might just get a promotion, or a medal, or money (if you're REALLY good, all three). So, you have a reason to follow orders. Hell, you might even have a shot at ARCs!
Don't be afraid to chime in. Anything to increase the fun factor will be welcomed and rewarded.
Another thing: keep a running list of all current Raiders' emails. Talk about stuff like mission things, hell, sports and algebra problems are also fair game. Get to know each other so we know what the other is probably going to do during a mission. Send welcome emails to new members to encourage them and offer advice (don't piss off old Cy, maybe?). Cooperation! We are all Raiders, all in the same squad, so this is supposed to come naturally. Squad...hmm, awfully military word for a simple concept. You want to know what that concept is?
It means we are a TEAM.
I leave you with these three lines:

Faithful to each other.
Faithful to the End.
Raiders had a reputation once, being one of (if not) the best of the corps' squads. I'm looking to revive that permanently. Who's with me?
