Reports are due tommorrow!

Everyone reported last week (save Namyr and Famus); lets see if we can keep it up!

A reminder to those on the Honor's List and to those who aspire to be on the Honor's list:  You MUST show me in your report that you did the required activity.  So if you report the standard way...

1) Squad Story Posts (at least two for the week to be on HR)
2) Meeting
3) IRC (counts as 1/3 of the activity requirements)
4) Wiki work (counts as 1/3 of the activity requirements)
5) Personal Story or Specialty (counts as 1/3 of the activity requirements)

6) If you participated in the "Swoop Racing", I will consider that as 1/3 of the activity required.

NOTE: You can have both personal story and spec story work and they will count as 2/3 of your activity requirements.  Any combination of any three forms of activity works.  Even if you do more than you need to, I will only put down the three most impressive for clarity's sake.

If you don't report your activity, I may or may not place you on the list... depends how much of your activity I noticed.  If I remember when you did something, I'll give it to you.  But just to be sure, report it please. 

Also, another note on the "Swoop Races".  I know that for right now it seems like a Raiders only thing (and it seems a bit shaky) but Cosmic has said he has some ideas for improving it, so I'm going to talk with him about it.  Trust me, we will have it, I just have to work out all the kinks within it, so hang in there!

Of course, I take all the credit. I did like, teach you everything you know, and let my own report suffer because of it. My reports suck because you took all my talent.

I plan to get onto, and STAY on High Honors. Just so you all know. Havock and I, being the only females on the Squad, have to prove your prove to you boys that we can kick some bum as well.

So trust me when I say this, Sergeant Ron:

Not just Havock and I either.

EVERYONE will be kicking some squad abumss in the upcoming competition. We're RAIDERS. It's what we do.

So bring it on.

And another thing regarding the promotions:

Unfortunately I have to cut down on the amount of promos I give.  And this isn't just because the higher ups have asked me to, I personally am going to make sure my promotions are few and in between.  Promotions should be the ultimate reward for a trooper's actions, and should not be given out like candybars.  I apologize for being so free about giving them and I am sorry if I gave the wrong impression.  Promotions will be much harder to earn therefore.

So here's the deal, I am still all for rewarding my troopers who work hard.  Trooper who work their asses off for me will NEVER go unrewarded, and that is a promise I will keep.  However; at the same time I cannot give promotions out so easily, especially when troopers in other squads go a full half a year sometimes without a promotion. 

So you're probably interested in knowing exactly how you can get promoted.  Well here are a few you can think about.

1) Complete your specialty.  This is a GUARANTEED promotion. All you do is write all your specs, pass them all, and then pass your tests.  Final.  Sha-zam... what more can you ask for.  And for the record... it is not impossible to get through your specs, I did it.

2) Win competitions. VE competitions are well known for their large scale promotion ceremonies.  You all know that these competitions are coming up soon.  If you want promotion and recognition- beat out the other squads.  Simple as that.

3) Work your tail off.  Stay active, write well, and get your reports in.  Those are the three best ways in which you can impress your squad leader.  Throw in some wiki work and personal stories as well and you'll go farther.

Those are the best ways to get promotions.  My own system will be modified again (and I promise for the last time) as such:

Story (Praexus II: Look's Like It's Going to Rain) Top Posters:
Here are the leaders in story posts for this week.  Your goal is (1) to post more than myself; and (2) more than your fellow troopers.  At the end of the story, the trooper who has the most posts will be considered for reward.  .

Honor Roll:
The Honor Roll is the list of troopers who have preformed to a higher degree than necessary.  These troopers are on their way to promotion and recognition.  Troopers who have (1) posted at least three times (per week) in the squad story (2) have not failed to report (3) have participated in at least 3 other forms of activity (spec stories, personal stories, wiki work, IRC, etc.) are qualified for the Honor Roll.

High Honors:
Troopers under the High Honors category have earned a promotion from their squad leader.  The required prerequisites for being on the High Honors List is up to the Squad Leader.

THAT is the final draft for my promotion reward system.  I realize that the system is vague, but it is only vague in so much that it allows flexibility for me.  What is important for you to know is simply this:

Those who post more than their fellow troopers will be on the Top Posters list..
Those who post thrice per week, have three means of activity, and report will be on the Honors List..
Top Posters are more likely to be considered for promotion than other troopers..
Top Posters are more likely to be on the High Honors list than other troopers..
Those on the High Honors list are more likely to be considered for promotion than Top Posters..
Those on the Honors List are more likely to be on the High Honor's list than the Top Posters..

Sorry, guys I still haven't heard about the story yet... just hang in there; I promise it will get posted by the end of this week.

Reports are due today, by Midnight.  I tend to post my reports to High Command very early friday morning so if your report is late it won't count I'm afraid.

There will be a meeting tommorrow in #RAIDERS on IRC regarding the direction in which the squad will be moving at standard VE Meeting time (about 4:00 est) for those who cannot make the regular squad meeting on Sunday.  Please try and attend as it pertains to all of you!

Get those reports in and stay out of trouble
