Actually, that's not quite accurate, however what has transpired shall work for my purposes perfectly. Anyway, I'm back from my leave, expect insanity.

Sorry if my last post messed anything up, I just wanted to get a little more fighting in before we got back to base.

RAIDERS UPDATE 11/16/08

Gone are our days of mucking about in swamps, trudging through thick forests, enduring sandstorms one day, frostbite the next. We have, officially, dropped the Multi-Enviroment specialty. We have picked up Black Ops, the successor to the recently dropped Special Operations. Black Ops is defined as:

A black ops squad is trained for prolonged independent operations in politically sensitive worlds or areas and to perform the operations the Vast Empire cannot be seen backing. They are capable of performing each necessary role should the need arise from scouting to demolitions to even intelligence gathering as their mission requires.  Frequently the squad is engaged in actions that require, upon their capture, the Vast Empire denies all knowledge of their actions and existence, meaning little chance of rescue. Not given the option of being saved the squad must work under higher stress and at peak efficiency in order to remain effective.

We also have a new standard loadout to go along with this, individual troopers may choose their own sidearm if they so wish.

2x Holorecording Macrobinoculars  - Combat Engineer/ Designated Marksmen
7x 1020/A Macrobinoculars - Standard Squad Macrobinoculars
1x Mu2i Shuttle                  - For use when affiliation is known/irrelevant
9x M23 'Toothpick' Combat Knives    - Standard hand-to-hand weapon
9x M66-SD "Silent Death" Submachine Gun    - Standard weapon for stealth/recon missions.


Due to this I am going to need a run down of specialties. Tortus, I realize you don't have one yet and this will help. Dante, I know you're Heavy Weapons. Which for now leaves just you Otto and Famus I'm not sure about. I'm also going to need someone who wishes to be designated marksman. This isn't the same as a sharpshooter spec, it is a position that simply means you take a role of marksmen because you have some ability/training, but not enough to be a sharpshooter. Also, should anyone choose the Special Forces specialty after they complete their initial choice they will be able to count some of our missions as specialty stories.

For story purposes this won't take effect until after our current mission which I assure you is drawing to a close.

Also, for those that don't know, Quick Write is coming up. . .this weekend I believe, so prepare yourselves for it.

Alright, due to some specialty conflicts that unfortuneately didn't come to light until recently we are changing our specialty. We are now Public Relations as defined by:

A Public Relations squad is trained in uprooting terrorist and guerrilla threats as well as insuring political stability/instability as required by command. They may operate within or outside of political boundaries to manipulate the stability of military or civilian hierarchies. These actions are accomplished through assassinations, bombings and massacres or through arrests, executions and chargeless imprisonment. They may operate within VE borders to feign terrorist or other attacks, scaring the populace or by removing troublesome but influential public officials.

There will be some slight changes to the equipment coming up, we'll need a few heavier weapons.

This will also provide some interesting character development material for some. We'll be dealing with important primarily political operations and responsible for the continued stability of Vast Empire worlds and the continued instability of enemy worlds. Sounds fun, no?
