Probably because more people want to learn how to work larger weapons (Heavy Weapons, HW), use vehicles properly (Vehicle Crewman, VC), become a slicer (Communications Technician, CT?), or other, more fun things, before they decide to learn how to stitch someone back up properly. Oh, and I'm a VC. -----------------------

I've thought about it from time to time, but I can't really justify it. While many fighters are very different in the way they handle, the basic theories behind piloting them are all the same. There is not a very steep learning curve in learning to switch between them. Its certainly not the difference that there is between being a slicer and being a sniper, or being a medic and being a combat engineer. In short, the Navy simply does not (that I can see, you are all free to try to convince me) need specialties. -----------------------

Jap, Jack's just talking about have a specialty (well not even a specialty, just a title) of a fighter pilot or bomber (just an example). Theres obviously a big difference between the two, and Im sure you have some other kind of pilots out there, so why not have individual specialties for each of them? -----------------------

In the end, I know you're all just blowing stuff up (if you look at it in that general perspective) but comeon, we're the army, all we do is blow stuff up (once again, general perspective) and we have specialties.
