I must apologize. I did check my sources (George Lucas' biography), and it did say that it was a dead language. But, I checked into Chauqua (however it's spelled) and it turned out that it is a common spoken language in the highlands of Peru. It may be that the author got confused because of the isolated region. Or both Fury and I are wrong and it's some totally different launguage.
You're also right about another thing Fury, I'm pretty fiesty. But, maybe if you didn't treat lower ranked people like s**t, we would have never gotten into this arguement. By now, you probably know that I will get angry at comments like that. I don't really like you, and I'm sure you don't like me, but that doesn't mean we have to be enemies.

My advice Darius, is to edit that post into nothingness. Fury's remarks were neither inflammatory, nor insulting.
You overreacted, and now are digging yourself into a deeper hole. Fury is one of the people that do not treat you new kids like sh*t...unless they pull stupid crap like this.
And if you can't take harmless teasing, you are in the wrong place. In short, take a chill pill, get off your high horse, and calm down.

Wow, I'm an asshole. As to what I think of you, I really don't know you but that's first impression is a doozy.
Thanks to everyone for the kind words.
Here's my approach to this. One, I don't like new members coming in and getting jumped on. As a new member I got targetted by a select group of two Alaskans and one Kentucky idiot and it wasn't pleasant. I have tried to make sure that no new member gets singled out unless they make themselves a target for scorn. This doesn't make me a saint, but neither the shithead you are making me out to be.
Two, this is not the case with you Darius. I'm not singling you out for abuse. You tried to bring in some info and wanted everyone to believe it at face value. Some of us did not. That's not a personal attack, that's questioning your source.
If this causes you to hate me, so be it. But that's small potatoes to get pissed off about. -----------------------

As much as I hate to agree with Fury,he's right.I don't believe he would single out a certain person like Angel or Cyanus.Well I have to excuse Angel because I was a complete ass,but Cyanus is just a grump anyway so that's his excuse.
On a side note I also have to make a point for Dy here.I know I've made myself a target and I can't go a day without being picked on.Let me just say that I know how bad it is because some people *cough* don't know when to quit.It's funny once or twice,possibly more,but when it happens everyday it just makes you look stupid and ticks off the target. -----------------------

Honestly, the best way to get past a bad start is to apologize to those offended and let your productive activity overcome the initial problem.
You'd be surprised how much good activity can overcome a sketchy start.
In the meantime, constant sniping doesn't make anyone look all that great. Angel is making some good points that others have made Shakey. You may not like the source of the news, but your join thread posts have been an issue with some of our new recruits and time has been spent by a few of us cleaning up the mess and settling some hard feelings.
Angel, be a tad more diplomatic. Shakey has only her actions to make her case as a trooper. Badmouthing doesn't help...or even hurt...her cause with me. Like I've always said, I will give a member enough rope to either lift themselves up or to tie the damn noose.

You're right Fury,I did dig my own hole,and I know that I did.The point I was trying to make was that even when some one makes an ass of themselves and then goes on,one shouldn't make them a permenant target.It hurts once or twice and makes you feel better that you've hurt the other person,but continued badgering just gets on the target's nerves and gets annoying. -----------------------

I give up. I apologized not only to Fury, but the other army guys with the smart alec remarks. I still obviously gotten my message or the desired response for my apology. I don't care anymore. Once again, I apologize. The lounge days for me are over. Not one single non sarcastic, nice remark has come out of most people towards me. What ever. I tried to step up and apologize, but some just won't let it happen. I'm just here to have fun and write. It's what I enjoy doing (especially about Star Wars). I don't want enemies. Like I said, it was no big deal to me. My only beef was you supposedly apologizing and then insulting me further.
It is my belief that you want people to say you are absolutely right and those who don't agree with you are absolutely wrong. Well, that's not going to happen. You DID apologize. You also overreacted to some criticism. You also keep sniping at, well, me in particular.
I am not taking much from this. You insult me, my troopers stand up for me (which I appreciate). No one is hacking on you, they are saying you need to step back and take a look at the bigger picture.
Which is this: you are blowing things out of proportion. No one is out to get you. No one is trying to start a feud or make an enemy out of you. And I'm having a hard time seeing where you are getting that message. Every post I've read has asked you to mellow out about this.
Feel free to leave if that is your decision; but that's all it will be, your call. I can't single out any member trying to run you off. Even me, who probably has to best reason to at this point. -----------------------

Darius, to this point I have had a great deal of respect for you as a person, your activity, and the excellent quality of your story posts. I really recommend you simply apologize and move on. Fury is a great guy and believe me, he gives everyone a chance to prove themselves, good or bad. I don't know about you guys, but right now, I'm sitting in school and this has been bothering me all day. In choir, I was thinking about it and looked at myself from a distance. Immediatly, I thought I was turning into the last person I wanted to be, a fricken Star Wars super freak that tries to memorize its alphabets, talks about the stupidest things. I feel like an idiot for this argument because it's really stupid. These are movies, not real life. And for those people who have wasted their lives, learning all this useless stuff they'll never ever use in their lives, I pitty them. I feel like we're all bunch of idiots, me probably being the biggest.
Now that I got my opinion out. What do you think about this whole thing and my opinion. (please, no insults) -----------------------

Everyone needs a hobby and mine is apparently to give you guys toilet mints and R2-shaped deodorant.
The important thing about a hobby/obsession is not to analyze it too hard unless its taking over your life/wallet. So what if it doesn't have any practical use? Do you really think cross-stitching or golf makes the world a better place? They're fun, but for the 99% of the people doing them, its just a way to waste spare time. Star Wars is no different. Some people work for LucasFilm, just as some golfers go pro; the rest of us just enjoy the ride.
So, I don't pity anyone who learns this arcane, non-real world stuff. Its escapism, and that's not necessarily a bad thing.
