...or at least something not normally done.

It has come to my attention that besides the Raiders Squad Website, all Platoon sites and such either have broken links or are non-existant. This is not to scold you all, but rather to encourage activity for this new competition that I have going. Episode III is coming out, and we'd like to hope that membership will increase as a result of the aftermath of the movie, in turn: there's a good deal of us that want to see the club as perfect as possible in that time. Someone had commented the other day ( I forget who) that they're sick of seeing the ARC website as the site of the week. Now, this is not to discredit the ARC Site, or you all as individuals. Again, this is merely to set the stage.

After talking with GM_Kadann last night, we had both agreed that a web-design competition was in order. This is open to all members (preferably of the army) and you are not limited to just web design. I also need graphically-inclined people to make some squad banners/seals that will help the people making the sites. So, here's how things will go. I'm going to assume that Raiders want to keep or improve their current site, but that does not mean they can't be used as a squad in this competition. That would be upto them though, and therefore are to contact me ASAP.

All those who are at least intrested in making a site or making a seal or banner for a squad or even the platoon are to contact me by either posting on here, catching me on IRC/AIM, or e-mailing me. You all have until Saturday to do this. At this time, you are to inform me of your prefrence of design (webpage, banner, or seal) and category (see below). This does not mean you'll get your category choice, but you will get your design choice (although there is a good chance). That day or maybe the next day I will inform you what your category will be, and you are to get working on it from that point in time. (For those of you who are still new around here and want to give it a shot: Include this in your report it DOES count as activity )All squads must have a site, and furthermore: I still need someone to make the platoon site. That being said, here are your categories. They are the same for all design fields. (Basically, I need a banner or seal and webpage for each)

Categories:

-Wildcard Platoon
-Iron Horse Squad
-Dark Dragoons Squad
-Raiders Squad
-Wraiths Squad

So, e-mail me today to get started. Ideally, I'd like if the squadmembers made their own site, but if someone outside wants to make it for you, I have no qualms against that. I still encourage you to sign up. Kadann is willing to get the sites hosted on the VE server, so you won't have to worry about the webspace. All you have to do is get your page designed. If you know how to use word, you can make a decent webpage I am told. So, let's see what you can do. Don't forget, if more than five people sign up to make webpages, we can have more than one page in the competition for one category. This is what makes it a competition. While I will choose who wins the competition (along with certain other people ) I will leave it upto the squad if there are two or more pages to choose from which page they want to use as their official site. Don't let that discourage you though: all sites will be used in some way/shape/form.

By now you're probably all wondering what you're going to get for doing this; and that's a really good question. On top of any award given to you in ICs or merchandise from the Squad that you designed the site for, the prizes go as follows.

Web Page Design

First Place: 1 Million ICs
Second Place: 750, 000 ICs
Third Place 500, 000 ICs

NOTE: All those not winning will recieve a sum of 15,000 ICs. (On top of whatever the squad/platoon wants to award you)Also, depending on the quality of your page: there are two medals I can hand out to all contestants.

Banner or Seal Design

First Place: 500,000 ICs
Second Place: 250,000 ICs
Third Place: 125,000 ICs

NOTE: All those not winning will recieve a sum of 10,000 ICs. (Again, on top of whatever the squad/platoon wants to award you).

Now I encourage all of you to at least take a shot at this. We have a wide variety of talents here and I would love to put them on display. Good luck to you all, and I hope to see some good results come out of this.

I used freewebs.com for the Nazgul website, and it works pretty darn good, but unless your a member you won't get quite the qulity of the ARC page.  Although I'd like to turn my website in for the site of the week but don't know how.  Good luck guys.

1) If all else fails, use Notepad and good ol' fashioned coding!

2) For Site of the Week submissions, it's advised to keep the websites either Star Wars related or VE-Related. (General notice for all).

3) For Image Editing software, I hear that GIMP is a pretty good source. GIMP's Website

Problems Experienced:The other Trooper was gone. Totally, I don't know why. So I had to do it again. Used this as a chance to take a better perspective, render it at higher quality, and make the text look better.

Changed the text, because it looked awkward, the bright armor, white text. It needed a bit of red to it.
