You certainly can. I did. The ones I gave are merely examples. There are probably thousands of races in the galaxy not featured in movies or books, so feel free to just make stuff up (within reason :P).

While we're talking about bios, I'd like to encourage everyone to include theirs in their profile on the roster. You've gotta be looking at the Naval Roster (or the Eng Corp roster for those of you that are in it) and hit the edit profile link that shows up on the left under all the division links. Theres a section there for your bio. Putting your bio there will make it nice and easy for your squad-mates to find it for reference when they're writing. It'll also show up when you click the little icon for information here on the Comnet.

I should really start pushing for everyone in the Navy to do this, I think it'd help a lot for both character development and for assisting other people in writing.

Oh and I went ahead and updated mine, it needed it. :P

I know this will help so I'm really pushing it.  Maybe we should require it or something, lol.  I think it would make any and all new recruits a lot more comfortable as far writing in terms of expectations in the characters surrounding them.

And Japheth, I know I was asking you about this, but are we going to have any kind of Wing or Naval story coming up soon?  Will you include yourself, lol?  I don't recall the last time you were in a starfighter.

History:

Jen Knight grew up on the planet Vzalioa. When she reached the age of 21, her parents decided that she should settle down and get married. Jen had not found a suitable spouse yet, so they chose for her, forcing her into an arranged marriage. Although the boy and his family had been very close friends with the Knights, Jen was hesitant about her parents' decision. She had known the boy since she was little but did not trust him. He had a temper and relied on violence to get his way. Her parents looked the other way on his irrational behavior, most likely because his family had money and he was able to provide a secure future for her. After their marriage, her fears came true. He did not treat her as a wife, more a slave to his wishes. His beatings were ruthless, many times leaving her bleeding unconscious on the floor. She went a full year living in this nightmare.

Vzalioa was a temperate forest planet, with almost all of its original vegetation, despite the rapid expansion of population and technology. Jen had studied medicine during school, so knowing the special values these plants held was almost  second nature. To escape her prison, she started a "secret garden", not of flowers, but a variety of the most poisonous plants found on Vzalioa. She decided to use the 'Areigot', a tiny plant, which at its tallest ranged from three to four centimeters. It took months to grow and needed constant attention, but her dedication paid off. After picking hundreds of the plants, she let them dry for a week, and ground them into a fine powder.

She knew slipping the areigot powder into his food or drink would be an easy task, since she over looked his kitchen and made all his drinks. Her 'husband' was very fond of alcoholic beverages, which added to his fits of anger. On the night of her twenty-second birthday, Jen added in the areigot powder to his drink and gave it to him with a shaking hand. She must have looked too suspicious because he spit out the liquid and attacked her with a knife that lay on the table. With a harsh push, she was flung to the floor and he dragged the weapon deep across her collar bone.  His eyes began to widen, and his face turned purple. Even though he spit out the drink, enough poison had remained to make his wind pipe swell which cut off all oxygen. It was a quick, but painful death. If the liquid was swallowed, it would have traveled through the blood stream and gone directly to the heart, causing it to burst immediately. He had gotten the easy way out.

After he was indeed dead, Jen ran to her parents' house and explained everything to her father. They both knew she couldn't stay on the planet, so he sent her off to the safest place he knew, The Vast Empire. He was retired now, but Ruizox Knight had been a Colonel in the Imperial Army. They would take care of his daughter.


Emotions:

Jen is very good at hiding her true emotions. It only being 3 months since she left her home planet, she is still very scarred by her past experience. Joining the Imperial Navy has left her with little time thinking about it, but it still comes back to haunt her in nightmares. Sometimes she feels like she doesn't want to burden her squadron mates with the story, but sometimes doesn't think that they would care, so she plasters on a smiling face and tries not to think about what happened. "Life goes On."- would be her motto.

I'm sorry?  I recall posting that rule because I knew something like that would happen.  If there were in fact a tie, you were aloud to change your vote or, if the vote did not change...  I would flip a coin.  You all agreed to that I beleive.  No one changed their vote by Friday morning so I went on ahead and flipped a coin following the procedure Darius set.  Heads Judicator, Tails Assithin.  You guys said that would be okay.  If you have a problem with taht, alright, I understand.  You'd like your ship named appropriatly and what not.
