And where has everyone gone?  Seriously, I'm curious...  DJ is no longer around like he used to, Art is supposebly 'unwelcome' or whatever that means, Darius has only now shown up but he still has yet to post.  Guys, I'd like to know whats up exactly, and who it is I'll have on my team here...

If your just looking at these post, get back here and start doing something rather than nothing. 

Is there something going on this week or is everyone just taking a break?  Its the summer time and all, but atleast lemme know if your going to be around or not.  Pulling a disappearing act all the time isn't going to go ever well with me or the XO.  Let us know whats going on.

A quick note, for those of you who feel like they have nothing to do because they don't know what to do, especially the new recruits, I need bios....  OH YEA.  Thas right.  Just quick little, two to three paragraph bios on how your joined, or why or just information.  That information gets put onto the site so people can know about you. 

Some kind of characteristic would be nice.  Kind of unneasy with the amount of 'blandness' when it comes to character modeling here.  Everyone is in a grey zone it seems.  Everyone keep that in mind if your writing your bio or if your writing on our stories anytime.  Have those characters react the way they should.

Thats about all I have on my mind right now.

I've basically been inverting some pictures, cropping them a bit different and seeing how they turned out.  I think this one looks pretty cool.



Also, I updated the site again, this time on the hanger bay section, I'm going to be putting  alot more stuff in there, but I put in some basic information and the TIE Fighter, Advanced and Interceptor have yet to get information applied to them.

Ok, here's the thing.  My activity is down because I was in Minnesota for a week (which I posted leave for) and this musical I'm in is killing me.  I've been getting really sleep deprived, and it's been taking my nights away from me.  My mornings are gone because I've been running 6 miles almost everyday.  I'm in training for cross country.  That's why I haven't gotten to my E-mail to Shazam, or any of the stories.  Summer seems more hectic than school does.

Don't jump the gun on the AWOL yet.

Guys, we've been talking, (Art, DJ, Jack, and myself of course), and we feel that we arn't acheiving the type of story and understanding we should in order for these to be both fun and fulfilling of the task set before us.  So we're looking at something or physical descriptions, emotional offset and just overall characterists of the people you write about.  More on that a little later unless Art would like to really say something about it.  He seemed the most clear on what we would need in order to acheive the goal I was looking at.  Art, lol?

I think bios are a great way of facilitating this and thus why I encourage them to be written.

While many bios follow a basic form of 'Who are you, where are you from, what do you look like, whats your life story in a page or less' you can expand on that to include your attitudes on various topics, how you're likely to be precieved by others, habits and manerisms and various proficiencies (outside of being a pilot, which everyone in the navy can do, though not necissarily all well).

I think we'll have to use this story we have going to utilize what Art just got done explaining.  In this particular story, we dont' actually have 'a plot'.  More a goal to be exact.  That is of course, get Darius out and have him be able to rejoin our ranks.  However, its not going to be a walk in, walk out scenario.  I challenge you to challenge your characters...  Allow them to have problems with things, it what creates a story, makes it more interesting...

How do you guys think we should do this?  I'm sayin we continue on with the story but I'd like everyone to add a little something to thier bios on all of the above.  You can post them here and  then I'll post them on the website.  You should be able to see them from either way.

I updated mine and added most of what Art was speaking of I think.

Shazam:

Full Name:  Shazam Money (picks random middle names...)

Height: Right about 6, 2", give or take an inch

Eyes: Hazel, often a shade of dark blue

Hair:  Very curly, kind of long, but not so long he looks like a girl.  Also its kind of a dirty blond color.

Posture:  Walks pretty tall but likes to slouch when no one is looking.

Quarks:  Thinks of the impossible and beleives it can happen, gets uncorfatable very easilly so you can always find him crackig his joints in his fingers by just opening and closing his hand or scratching his head to figure out how he can become a little happier at that exact moment.

Idiosyncrasies:  Has a sense of security in certain numbers, but he isn't supersticious, more like a game he plays with himself alone.  The 7:11 make a wish is probably the best example.  If he looks at the time later and its an odd number, the wish comes true, if its even, the exact opposite will occur.

Pet Peaves:  Being ignored, being told what to do, having to say something over again, and having to appoligize.

Emotional description:  Basically a fun loving guy with a few rough edges.  If someone ask why something was a bad idea, expect a harsh answer.  Always fighting his own demons, that is wanting to ignore the wants and needs of others, but he's pretty good at fighting them off.  He'll play it cool to the best of his abilities, but if it comes down to it he'll become very strict and try to make things work more efficiently, theres no screwing around unless he's doing it.  He is however insanely jealous of people, which is his biggest demon.  Absolutely can't stand it if someone doestn' know how much better he is at something than someone else.  In fact, he'll go out of his way to show people just how good he is, trying to keep a friendly face though.  He needs that reputation.  In relationships he is not as insanely jealous though, actually quite trusting.  Anyone worthy of his love has got to be right about the same back.  He expresesses deep truth in his relationships, basing them solo on that bit of respect and responsibity.  He hates to lie.  Also he tries to avoid doing things that are 'too bad', because he does fear a higher power.  So you'll also see him to an unwritten law or two.  And he follows the 'Guy Code'...

Physical Description/Abilities:  Very skilled natural fighter.  Born with pretty good reflexes, and he's also grown naturally toned.  With weight and arobic training he can turn into a beast of a man.  He has a strict confidence in his abilities but an inhibitor telling him he shouldn't be so sure of himself, so he's also pretty careful of every situation he can think up.  Its not impossible to surprise him though... If he is angry, he will hold himself back, but he has the look of a killer.  He's pretty strong and his veins pop out of his arms when he is worked up and the blood is flowing.  These veins travel all the way from the edges on the back of his hand to the  bottom of his shoulders.  Pretty good sized chest and he always wears a white shirt under everything.  Everything...  Also, pretty sharp (strong guy) features with the squared jaw but kind of a fuzzy welcoming look for the most part.  And his hair is very soft.  Women like to touch it for some reason...  He just accepts it.

Being around the Vast Empire for some time before actually joining as an official recruit, Shazam was well informed about what he would be getting himself into, and had heard plenty of stories on distant planets and all of the things they were aloud to do.  Not only had been informed about the awesome stunts performed by many brave pilots, he was made aware of the casualty rate.  War was a messy business, however, Shazam came from a place that was not even comparable to what he had in the VEN.  He lived most of his life with his uncle Hermes, and his father Icos, being chased by bounty hunters every once in a great while for illegal trades that didn't end well...  They were continuously running from a jedi though, and this ended up very badly.  Shazam's need to find some things out fueled his decision to join, not his yerning for the Imperial way...

The demise of several squadrons left the Navy barren and extremely hard up on its pilots, giving them every opportunity to become thier best, the job was tough though and pilots were as rare as promotions...

Due to active experience in many of the latest battles that the Vast Empire Navy has engaged in, Shazam has been promoted to Cheif Warrant Officer and awarded the 'Legion of Merit' and 'Long Service' medals, and has been further awarded the job of commanding a squadron, that of which he named 'Nazgul Squadron' bringing back the disbanded group from years ago.  He is currently acting as Commanding Officer of the Squadron.  CWO Shazam, was a Petty Officer 1st Class and Flight Leader of Flight 2 in Kaph Squadron for about half a year or so before being promoted and sent to command a new squadron...
Shazam continues to search but often finds himself put into situations not out of the ordinary but in extreme need of his full attention.  Thus his search is non-existant.  He will find the things he hunts eventually though...  Or they will catch up to him.

On that note, remember that it is not at all uncommon for people to speak several languages, or at last to understand them. Almost everyone understands basic, but most humanoid races find it impossible to speak Shyriiwook, for example, though many understand it, anyway.

Think of whatever lplanet or moon you grew up on and what races were most likely to be in abundence there. Those are the races whose languages you are most likely to be very proficient with. For example, growing up on Nar Shadda, a human would likely also be fluent, or at least competent, in Huttese and probably Rodian, along with perhaps one or two more.
