Operations Officer [OO] (HC-3) -
The Vast Empire Operations Officer is in charge of helping the various levels of commanders, assisting the Vast Empire Executive Officer in development of the Vast Empire's programs, and is usually in charge of most Vast Empire communications. The Operations Officer is also in charge of developing the storyline for the Vast Empire. He has the ability to write it any way that he sees fit, but it is up to the rest of the Head of High Council to approve it. He/She will keep track of and manage the metting log archive. The position pay is 700,000 Imperial credits.
The above is the description of my job taken from the VE Axiom. I pasted the entire thing so that no words were lost. As you'll see in there, part of my job is VE communications. That is why I am the channel founder on IRC and why you see me doing most of the deleting/editing of posts on ComNet. Some of you seem to have forgotten that it's my job to keep some resemblance of peace around here. Few of you have actually spent any time on a real message board before ComNet and don't know just how tight things can be run. If you start to go off topic your posts are deleted or the thread is closed. There is no question there. In a real message board, if you bad-mouth the admin, you're gone without debate. I've been on bulletin boards before there was even an "internet." After these many years, you'd think I would know what is acceptable and what is not.
Over the past month, I'd say, I've been questioned more times and I've been insulted more times than I can count. I don't get paid for this, people. I perform this job by choice. There are nights when I quetsion why. It's only because I take the advice that Threeof4 gave me a long time ago (sleep on it) that I'm still here. So here's your chance people. Another election is up for grabs. The popular vote gets it. Go to the domain and vote to see if I stay or if I leave. No strings attached. Your opinion is your own. I'm just looking for an excuse to flip you the bird and walk.

This is utterly ridiculous.
Tal you have done, and are doing your job, thats the only thing that matters. The opinion of people (who shall remain nameless, although one will be severaly thrashed by me) should register as less than dog-crap in your mind.
As for all you ass-clowns that have done this TWICE now, (once with Fury back a while ago) I hope you are real freakin happy. Hell let's drive off Kad and Heth while we're at it. There's a REAL FLIPPIN GOOD IDEA.
Tal it's up to you. I know that we need you here, but the point of all this is to have fun. If you're not having fun anymore, then you know what's best for you.
Take 3's advice. Sleep on it. You, Kad, Fury and Heth are the pillars that keep the VE standing. Knock one out and we all fall down.
P.S. If he leaves all you ass-clowns are on my shit list.

Tal, we may have had our differences: but you better be kidding about this. You've been here longer than any of the "ass-clowns" that are getting on your case I am sure. Anyways, the point is: if you leave, they won. Don't give them the satisfaction of knowing that you fell to their mercy. I agree with Cos, FK, and everyone else that posted you've done your job the way it's supposed to be done: there's no two ways about it. In fact, I'd like to see any of these "ass-clowns" do your job for a week or even a day. Oh, and FYI: Don't any of you EVER let me find out that you were one of the ones responsible for this complaining. I assure you, that if and when I find out who you are: the consequences will be quite severe! This club is supposed to be about fun, which is why we have Tal around to keep it fun (not annoying, or upsetting in any way) by removing any posts or whatever that would disturb that fun. You people are making the club less fun, and I will do everything that is in my power to track you down and punish you!

i dont know if everyone know yet, but the vote that wanted to make Tal leave was voted through my account. a classmate of mine voted while i turned my back on my pc, and later he joined as Trex. but he didn't know any better, so i guess there is really no point in punishing him. Tal stay, in fact, i actually put through another vote wanting you to stay. |

Will, if that's the case, you may want to consider only logging on when you're alone or at home, and always click the log off button before leaving. There's been cases before of hackers ruining innocent people's reputations. Can't remeber the one guy's name, though. Anyone else remember? Talon, while we may seriously disagree on most issues and have very different beliefs about various things in VE, it ultimately is your decision and not ours whether you stay or go. I voted that you should stay because I've heard that you are one of the best DJO leaders VE has had, and I also know the DJO members truly respect you, so I don't see why you should go. Ultimately it is your decision, not ours.
I think that this thread and poll will show you that while some may seriously disagree with the way you run things, most recognize that it is not their decision whether or not you go but rather it should be yours and only yours. If nothing else this poll will prove you command enough respect of the majority of the members that you should continue your job until you don't want it anymore. Again, it is your choice, not ours, and you shouldn't leave because some people disagrees with the way you do things. It should be your own independent decision. -----------------------

I think we all get to the point where we ask why the hell do we still do this. I know I have one more than one occasion. In fact, I've been mulling similar thoughts myself for the past few weeks.
Seriously though, at Tal's level you have to understand that the "fun factor" is seriously razor thin. Administering a pack of people who, for the most part, just want to have a good time isn't all that bad. It's when people just can't stop pushing the limits, pressing everyone's buttons, and basically breaking the rules for the sake of chaos; that's when the thrill is gone.
Most of you know all this and have some parallel for it in your lives; or at least a perspective that's similar. Give the guy a pat on the back, provide some positive reinforcement once in a blue moon.
We're not talking apples on the desk and buttkissing. Just a simple "thank you" does the trick usually.
