*shrugs*  My dad has been flying at least 50 times a year since maybe the 70s and he is in really good health.  Of course he excersives.  Actually more like 20-25 times, but that is a lot.

God, can anyone win with you? You look for all the negative things in society.  Maybeif people werent such pessimists we wouldnt have so many problems.  In fact, I know lots of people who travel by plane often and nobody I have met has ever let me know they have a problem like what you are talking about.

sure people can win...what Im saying is while you may not know of people who have had a problem...there still ARE ppl who do and there is scientific research stating that the legroom in airplanes is so cramped that it can greatly increase the possibility of blood clots.

So then they can go on a boat...or a car or a train.  They dont HAVE to fly...

To defend Hashi, I went and found this

Huh, bashing only one of two 5 star airlines.  Yeah, because they aren't US carriers, right?  Geez, how pathetic.  Also, apparently one of the healthiest airlines in the world too. Whatever that means.  Considering how clean everyone says the city is, I believe that. Then again, I live in the US and everything we have is trashy. Cities, planes, public restrooms. You name it.

Actually, I had a short hop on SIA once and thought it was great. Also, some friends of mine just got done taking that LA - Singapore flight and said they loved it. Too bad the trip involved my buddy meeting his new in-laws.  No stress there.

As for the legroom thing, I'm torn.  I realize there is a point of diminishing returns where you provide too much comfort and run yourself out of business.  I also understand that every damn time I get on a plane, its like I'm being corralled into a pen like I was a herd animal.

Seriously though, if you have to fly (its illogical on time constraints to take a boat or a - HA! - bus overseas), expect the length of the flight and dress and feed and drink yourself accordingly.  And walk, or at least, stand awhile.

In all fairness though, I do know people who had to transfer from their road warrior jobs because the constant flying was doing a number to them physically.  Then again, they took about 5-10 round trips a month.  So, maybe that's not what you guys are talking about.

Why should the airlines build special planes because a bunch of people are fat? It's the fat people's responsibility to exercise, not society's job to make them feel happy about being whales.

You can be quite the narrow minded twit, can't you?

I don't know about anyone else, but I was referring to circulation and back issues, not weight ones.

But thanks for telling us how you truly feel.

Good reasoning, Fury. And as for Singapore Air, never flown them.  I was just going on what I heard, so you guys should probably listen to Fury for that.  Also, it is recommended that you stand up and stretch or walk around at least 5 minutes for every hour you are on the plane.

Ah, then that was my mistake for misunderstanding the conversation.
