just wanted to let you know that i was searching google for other SW sites to make contact w/, and i found the "Galactic Empire". it says it was founded in '98 and has 523 members. kinda like ours cause it plays JK2, XWA and all that shtuff. have not made contact yet. it's at www.imperialnexus.net

First off, our member-count is already on the domain. It has been there for... a while now. And secondly, you're not doing anything until you get approval from the High Council. Doing something like this (greeting a possible ally) is not your job unless authorized to do so. If you found a promising gaming club that shares our interest and want them to become allies, you take it up with the superiors.
Confusion and big messes can start with this; something that I'm not looking forward to. -----------------------

GE is kinda like SV in terms of current activity (*maybe* like 10-15 active members, mostly HC level). They inflate their numbers by including everyone who never passed their training (about 275 or so last time I checked) andall the reserves, retired, and the official AWOL (about another 230). Include the unofficial AWOL count of about 40-50. Now you have your active number. Another good way of determining their activity is checking out their IRC channel (#Galactic_Empire on irc.undernet.org) and noting the fact that their leader is never-present. -----------------------

Nobody even said Swomz couldn't be helpful. Hell, even he admits to mistakes in the past that could have been handled better. It was never a referendum on his usefulness that led to some bad blood.

The thought of recruiting GE members is a nice one, but doubtful to happen. Both GE and SV members that are left and are active are extrremely devoted to their clubs. The chances of getting some of them to join are extremely slim. You might have luck recruiting new members of SV (Wouldn't try it since their commanders greatly dislike that and have lots of friends), but the GE is left with mostly members that have been there for 2+ years.
And Blah, I messed up a lot and deserve what I get for the most part. Only some of it is unwarranted. -----------------------

We don't allow other clubs to actively recruit from our member list. Therefore, we are not going to support this type of activity when we condone recruiting from our own ranks.
Granted, members do join other clubs. But it is usually that particular member's choice to join another organization.
However, if you know someone in another organization (ie. are friends with them), then you can try to recruit them. It's quite a bit harder to recruit someone you don't know in another organization and not get reported for doing so. Other organizations will come to us to report any recruitment activity within their club from our own.
As a side note, if anyone approaches you from another organization to try to recruit you and you don't know them, let your commander know. We will then contact the other club about this infraction. -----------------------
