Sorry about the mission name.  I just couldn't help myself.  If anyone comes up with a better one, I'll change it immediately.

Planetary Information

Planet Name:  Nalbrice
Planet Function:  Trade
Government:  Anarchy
Planet Type:  Terrestrial
Terrain:  Jungle
Gravity:  Standard
Atmosphere:  Type I (breathable)
Length of Day:  29 hours
Length of Year:  135 days
Hydrosphere:  Moist
Temperature:  Temperate
Population: 200,000,000
Starport:  Stellar
Tech Level:  Information, with Hyperspace facilities

History:
Originally founded as a colony of religious dissidents from throughout the Corellian Run, Nalbrice has become much more.  After the fall of the Empire, the once relatively unnoticed planet become a stopping point for many explorers, criminals, ex-Imperials and the various smugglers avoiding the emerging reach of the New Republic.  From a small 2 million being colony of co-religionists, it swarmed to hundreds of millions who could care less about religious harmony.

Social and governmental controls broke down as a highly militarized and warlike culture of various criminal organizations and smugglers fought for zones of control.  The planet is now a chaotic landscape of prefab housing and has only recently tried to clean up some of its territory as it is now an important waypoint on the burgeoning Remnant Run between the Vast Empire and the Imperial Remnant and other former Imperial regions.

Current intelligence points to a power struggle between an undetermined coalition of stabilizing forces and a loose confederation of criminal gangs.  The majority of the populace is left caught in the crossfire of daily skirmishes.

Operation Order

I. Situation

A. Enemy Forces

1. Identification of enemy forces:  Intelligence shows upwards of two companies of troops onboard.
2. Location(s): Most are primarily guarding the cargo holds and command and control areas.
3. Strength, morale, and capabilities/equipment: Two companies of lightly armored and lightly armed troops.  Do have heavy armor and weapons but will not use them unless a ship-wide threat is recognized.
5. Probable course(s) of action: Are more likely to flee and get reinforcements than fight.

B. Friendly Forces

1. Jester squad.  There will be no backup on this mission.

II. Mission

You are to land on the planet of Nalbrice and attempt to find a way onto the Lady-class luxury liner Lady Eboshi.  Intelligence has shown that this long-in-service cruise ship has been converted to use as a gun runner to unknown planets beyond our starcharts.

The only known port of call for the ship is Nalbrice.  It is imperative that you find a way onboard, obtain information as to other ports of call, possible starcharts of the ship's cruising schedule, and any details as to who is involved in the weapons procurement, purchase, and delivery.

III. Execution

Intent

A. Concept of the Operation

As it is near impossible to obtain the proper documentation required to access planets in the Thilidian sector, it will be necessary to find an alternate means to boarding the craft.

1. Maneuver:

Establish a means of getting on the ship, gathering information, and quickly exiting the cruise liner.

2. Fires:

Onboard the ship, a major firefight would be a serious danger to the success of the mission unless precautions are taken in advance.  In addition, exiting the craft will be difficult if the ship's gunnery crew is aware of your presence.

B. Coordinating Instructions

This paragraph lists the details of coordination and control applicable to two or more units/subunits. Items that might be addressed include:

1. Departure and reentry of friendly lines.
You will be utilizing the captured Mobquet  Cargo Hauler Danthe Venture from the aborted Alisandor mission.  It has been given a salvage rating and is to be presented to Etchik Shipyards for refitting purposes.  This gets you onto the planet.  A small courier craft will be attached to the Lady Eboshi.  This will be your means off of the ship.  Of course, without proper astrogation records, you will be unable to return to VE space.

2. Actions on enemy contact:  Quickly neutralize any enemy contact to avoid discovery.

3. Priority Intelligence Requirements (PIR): Obtain at least a partial list of stops by the Lady Eboshi.  Obtain astrogation records good enough to get you away from the ship and back to VE space.

4. Timeframe:  As the Lady Eboshi leaves Nalbrice, it will stop at a platform.  This is the first delivery point and is also where the ship will take on much of its military component.  This area is patrolled by a significant naval force.  Beyond this are various tourist stops at up to five differing scenic areas.  Beyond this is a long hyperspace jump stopping at a large orbital military facility.  If you do not finish the tasks before the scenic stops complete, it will be almost impossible to avoid detection at the second military installation.

C. Medical Evacuation:

This is impossible once upon the ship.  If a trooper gets injured, squad resources may be all that is available in the short term.

D. Personnel:

Literally, take no prisoners.

E. Miscellaneous:

1. Special equipment.

Inbound to Nalbrice: Mobquet Cargo Hauler Danthe Venture

Outbound: Lady-class Luxury Liner Lady Eboshi

2. Captured equipment.

Your best chance of finding a means of leaving the liner is one of two Baudo-class Star Yachts moored to the ship.

IV. Command & Signal

A. Command
TBD by squad leader

B. Signal
TBD by squad leader

Not a lot of fighting involved in this particular mission (unless errors are made ).  However, it should give you all a chance to work together on what should be a short mission.

Also, if it helps, success on this and Wraith's mission will help move along a mini-storyline I have until our next chapter works itself out.

Merrick woke earlier than she had since getting back from Ciutric. She looked over at her terminal and saw a message waiting. "Hm, way to wake me up." She yawned and got up to take a look, sighing when she finally got the idea of the message. "Yay, mission. Guess the troops will be happy." She showered, dressed and got herself a cup of coffee before waking the others, who all seemed to still be very happily asleep. While she hadn't been able to get in as much training as she had wanted to, they should at least be able to work as a team well enough to keep each other alive. None of them were very happy when she woke them, especially when she delayed telling them why. She went back to her quarters to gather her equipment and returned while the squad was eating breakfast. "So do we get to find out why we're awake in the morning, yet?" Merrick looked at Frog and grinned. "Sure, why not. We have ourselves a real mission." It was hard to tell if they were excited or worried by the news. "I'll brief you more when we are under way, for now you should all get packing. Go with non regulation armour and weapons if you like. This one's supposed to be covert." Vult looked at Merrick. "Supposed to be?" Merrick just chuckled and went back to packing her gear.

----

The Jesters finished stowing their gear and took their seats in the shuttle. Merrick resisted the urge to go back to sleep during the flight, but a couple of the others decided to take a nap. She figured she would let them sleep for a bit, before giving them a better briefing on what the mision would involve. They hadn't exactly gone to bed early last night. So she sat and read through the mission data again.

----

"..so we're taking the Danthe Venture." She let them digest all the information for a few minutes before they reached the Venture. "Get your gear, pick a bunk, but don't get too comfy. We won't be here very long." Everyone got their gear and picked where they wanted to sleep, some of them even decided to try to sleep now, but Merrick didn't let them. Despite how much she too wanted to get some rest, they had work to do, and it was work with a very tight schedule.

[OOC: Get your acts together guys, lets make this a nice interesting (but short) mission. ]

***Ok its been a while so... Don't really know what has been posted about this character in the last year or so but oh well... tell me if something is wrong. ***

Tylen laid back on his bunk.  Man...ever since leaving the temple its been nothing but small bunks and crammed quarters.  Merrick had just finished chewing him out for being lazy but he had no will power to do much of anything today.  He sat up and looked down into the room (he stole the top bunk )  He could see a few of the others putting on their daily clothing...pounds of heavy white armor that didn't really do a whole lot but blind you when being outside.  Heh...how could they stand to wear those? He thought to himself.  Tylen himself has worn the stormtrooper uniform all of about 2 times in his life.  2 reasons, 1) he was to small for them, only being 16 they huge and bulky and he couldn't move! 2) Why would he need to wear anything but his jedi robes.  He practically lived, slept, and would shower in them if he could.  But basically found the white armor useless.  They seem a little tense...heh...newbies.  Ok, time to have some fun...  Tylen reached into his backpack and pulled out one of his many thermal detonators.  Tylen never left home without them.  It is like a link to his childhood.  Keeps him sane in a sick and twisted sort of way... The detonator he pulled out was a dud, one that was more of a distraction device then one meant to kill someone.  He put a few more of his regular thermal detonators in his robes for the trip and grabbed his lightsabers.  He huddled up on the top bunk and waited for the perfect moment...  He activated the thermal detonator and dropped it off the side of the bed.

"LOOK OUT!" Hashi screamed as he and a few others hit the deck, some jumping out the door to try to get away from the non-existent explosion.  Sokudo just sat there knowing Tylen all to well these past few years.  Tylen jumped from the top bunk and ran out the door.  "HAHA!  See you guys later!"  He shouted back at them and brought the fake detonator back to his hands.  In a few seconds later he was half way down the hall when he could hear blaster fire coming back at him in retaliation.  heh& never fails&   He thought to himself making his way down to the bridge to get the full details on their first port from Merrick.  He knew this mission was going to be an easy one and wondered why they didn't just ask him to do it personally, one person would be able to infiltrate a ship much quicker and stealthier then a whole squad could.  But he quickly got over it.

Tylen hadn't counted on seeing Merrick half way down the hall. She didn't look too happy. "Scaring my newbies, Jedi? You may be powerful and all that crap, but I am still your SL, so you still have to do what I say. Be a little nicer to them from now on, if you would be so kind. Their nerves are already bad, with the upcoming mission. Especially since we have no support and getting caught would mean the VE will leave us behind." Tylen just nodded and followed Merrick to the bridge in silence.

[OOC: Good to have you back Tylen. Your character has been left out completely since your activity stopped. Consider yourself left at home for the last couple of missions. ]

Hashi paced the corridors of the Danthe Venture restlessly. Sucking his teeth, he contemplated about the mission. He was more than a little worried, it was his first real mission afterall. He stopped momentarily, and softly pounded the hard durasteel of the ship. He had tried to gone back to sleep after Sergeant Major Tylen Jaap had his little prank with the thermal detonator dud, but he found that he was too tense to have a quick nap. He sighed grudgingly as he thought about Tylen's prank, why were old-timers always picking on the new ones?

"Steady boy," he muttered softly to himself, trying to reassure himself. "Merrick's a helluva squad leader, and Tylen and Sokudo are old veterans themselves. You'll be alright with them around."

He was clad in his brown army tunic, having just discarded his Stormtrooper uniform. Stealth and secrecy were the key to the success of this mission, and the loud clank of heavy boots coupled with the white gleam of armour that can be seen from a mile off will certainly not help him. The tunic gave him more freedom of movement, though it offered little or no protection if it got down to a furious gunfight. Hopefully it won't come to that. He smiled grimly and his hand strayed down to his right thigh, patting the holstered blaster strapped there.

At that moment Firefrog approached him from behind and tapped him on the shoulder. "Pilot says we're gonna drop out of hyperspace in a minute."

Hashi nodded in reply and followed his fellow squad mate to the cockpit. The pilot and his co-pilot were busy working the controls and monitoring the various displays. Merrick was standing silently behind them, staring at the white lines of hyperspace. She turned briefly to acknowledge the arrival of the two troopers.

Suddenly the ship lurched and dropped out of hyperspace, returning to the blackness of normal space. Everyone in the cockpit studied the green planet looming ahead of them. There was a flurry of activity above the planet ; various freighters were scurrying about their business, while smaller fighter craft darted in between the larger craft. Hashi noticed the large orbital platform above the planet, the one which was controlling all incoming and outgoing space traffic.

"So that's Nalbrice," Merrick said softly.  "Busy place we have here, hmm?"

"Unidentified freighter, this is Nalbrice port control. State your destination and cargo," a gruff voice cackled over the comlink. The pilot replied steadily, giving all the neccessary information so as to not aggravate the controller.

"Clearance to land granted, " replied the controller after a long period of silence.

"Enjoy your stay... and don't get into trouble."

The Danthe Venture glided smoothly down onto Nalbrice, jolting slightly due to turbulence as it hit the upper atmosphere. After a couple of minutes, the capital city Brinine was in sight. The city itself was a beehive of activity, its millions of occupants crammed into prefab housing. Here and there the scars of war could be seen on battered skyscrapers, while droid repair crews tried to fix the damage that was the result of a power struggle between the planetery government and the many criminal organizations.

Eventually, the Venture reached the starport on the far side of Brinine. The pilot expertly eased the ship gently onto the landing pad he was that was designated.

Hashi breathed a sigh of relief, glad that the first stage of the mission was over. They have reached Nalbrice safely. Getting on the planet had proved to be the easy part, but finding a way to get on the Lady Eboshi would probably be not as simple, what with all the various criminal gangs running around the city.

Criminal gangs, Hashi thought, hiding a smile. His mind flashed back to his time in Nar Sharddaa, running around with gangsters and other fringe-types...

"Hashi, tell the others to gear up and get ready. We're moving out as soon as possible," Merrick ordered, snapping him back to reality. "Yes ma'am!"

He rushed out of the cockpit. Yes, they have landed on Nalbrice safely enough, and Hashi was now hopeful they'll get through the entire mission alive.

Vult shifted uncomfortably on his bunk as his stomach felt the lurch of the craft leaving hyperspace.  His sensitivity to motion of any kind served him well in battle, but at times it was a right pain.  As he slipped on his boots, he gave another thought to the armour he had left in the barracks.  Being a covert mission, he felt it better if he remain as inconspicuous as possible, and snow-white trooper armour was far from easy to miss.

After securing his twin daggers in their thigh sheathes and his throwing knives in theie forearm clasps under his somewhat tight, yet easily mobile, grey jumpsuit, he slipped his blaster pistol and scanner onto his belt, through on a loose and tattered traveling robe he'd had for years, and made his way to the bridge.  He watched silently through the hatch as the ship eased into orbit and began to descend to the very green planet.

He noticed the two other troopers in the bridge starting to grow restless, so he left silently before he could be noticed.  Arriving at the lounge, he noticed the trooper Sokudo sitting at a table sipping at what seemed to be coffee.  Vult returned the greeting with one of his own, poured himself a cup of the brew, and made his way to the aft observation ports.  As he watched the traffic in higher orbits zig across the stars through the distortion caused by the ship's engines, he heard Merrick come up behind him.  "Credit for your thoughts, trooper?"

Without even turning he answered, "I never really cared for watching landings.  Besides, it's much more interesting to me to watch the other traffic around."  Merrick stood silently as Vult continued. "You can tell so much about a planet by the traffic above it.  The unmarked fighters zipping around to protect the illegal shipments hidden amongst legitimate cargo, beat up liners probably full of refugees or star-eyed prospectors..."

Merrick decided to cut in, "You've been rather quiet lately.  Hardly heard a peep out of you the last few days of training.  I can count on you to do this job, right?"  Vult turned from the window and looked almost through her.  "I'll do my job, sir."  He drew one of his knives and added a few more rips and frays to his robe.  "It's what Im here for.  Besides, Im not exactly gonna give up an opportunity to sneak around and kill people.  Havent killed anything in over a week.. it's starting to get to me."  Reassured, but still slightly worried, Merrick decided to let him be and turned down the corridor.  "Final mission breifing is in 10 minutes, so make sure you-" she stopped calling out as she turned her head, realizing that Vult was walking silently 2 paces behind her.  "You really need to stop that.  It's unnerving."  "Sorry, sir."

After the briefing, Vult found himself again at the aft port near the main hatch.  He could hear a few others chatting a bit deeper in the ship, but found himself next to the jedi, Tylen.  He wasnt very talkative, probably because he saw vult as just another newb, which he understood.  He was a newb.  But he also got a feeling this was a person he could get along with, someone he could count on to watch his back.  He made a side note of this, and stepped outside for his first breath of fresh air in days.  It was deep, wild, and with just a hint of danger.  Just the way he liked it.

Merrick waited until everyone was present. "Alright, now no one has actually told us how to get on the ship. That's one of those fun little things we get to figure out ourselves. The first stop of the Eboshi is a platform where they will take on troops. That makes it hard for us, but I thought we might try a little of the old switcharoo. Kill a couple, take their places. Shouldn't be too hard, except for maybe Tylen, but I am sure he can find his own way onto the ship." Tylen nodded silently, confidently. "We only need to hope that none of these troops know each other too well, and that we choose ones who won't be missed." Everyone looked at each other a little nervously, except Tylen and Sokudo, who as usual stood there in silence looking straight ahead. Merrick looked over her troops. Those that had brought their armour had obviously thought twice, and were wearing reasonably casual clothes. "Alright guys, lets move out."

They left the Venture at the shipyard and headed off to find a way to the platform where the Eboshi would be docking. She discussed what would be done, and talked to Tylen to make sure he was ok with making his own way on. The kid was useful, but his age could be a problem at times. When they arrived at the platform, there were no troops there, so Merrick headed for the nearest bar. Frog and Vult snickered as she left Jester outside and went inside to investigate. They both had some idea of what her plan was going to be, especially considering she had found the least obvious exit to leave them outside of. She'd also left all her weapons with Tylen, who was holding them and trying not to make it obvious he was uncomfortable doing so. A few minutes later, Merrick emerged from the bar with a few mercenaries in tow.

As Merrick began to lead the mercs down the alley, Frog stepped out behind them, from a pile of crates, put on his widest, cheekiest grin, and announced, "So, what are five nice guys like you, doing in a dingy alley like this?"

The mercs turned, slightly put off by the man with the cheesy grin, and the even cheesier pick up line. That was, however, all the distraction it took. Frog poked his tongue out, and punched the first merc, right in the neck, causing him to drop to his knees. At that point, Vult dropped from the roof and dispatched two blades into the backs of two merc's necks.

Merrick frowned, "Make sure you don't rip any of their clothing, we need it!"

By this point, the remaining two mercs had come to their senses a bit, well, enough to scatter anyway. The first had the misfortune of trying to run past Merrick, and wound up on his face for his troubles. The second brushed past Frog, who'd spent the past few moments delivering a swift kick to the head of the guy he'd originally punched. It was at that point, that Hashi launched himself at the last merc, swung one arm around his neck, and sweeped his feet out from under him. The merc dropped to the ground, acting as a cushion for Hashi, who finished the job with one quick elbow.

"Not too shabby at all, and apart from a few thumps and gurgled squeals, done quietly as well," said Merrick, as she observed the scene.

Vult grinned slightly, "It isn't Hashi's fault that hes a squealer," which prompted glares from both Hashi and Merrick, although in Merrick's case it was covering a snicker.

"Ok, finish them off, and strip them to their unmentionables," said Merrick, composing herself.

Frog winked at his squadmates, "With pleasure, ma'am!"

Earlier the platform where the Eboshi was docked was devoid of troops. Now it was brimming with mercenaries. At least two companies strong and towing heavy gear along with them, the mercs were all making their way onboard the ship.

The grey hull of the Eboshi stood out like a dark shadow. The ship was scarred with turbolaser marks, no doubt they ship had been in many sparrings with various planetary police forces. The former luxury liner had underwent such heavy modification that it no longer resembled the holiday ship it once was. In addition to the four twin pair blaster cannons, she had also been outfitted with a pair of turbolaser cannons and concussion missile launchers.

The mercenaries were not the only group on the platform. In one inconspicious corner were the Jesters, clad in their disguises. Hidden beneath their clothes were their choice weapons. The Jedi was not with them however, he will find his own way aboard the vessel. Senior Sergeant Merrick quickly briefed them on getting aboard the ship, and then the Jesters split up and joined the mass of mercenaries.

"Meet up when you get on the Eboshi," Merrick whispered. "And pray your disguises hold."

Blending in as best as they could, the Jesters were simply following the mercenaries. They kept within sight of one another, communicating only by hand signals and eye contact.

Gradually the platform was emptying. The last platoon of mercenaries had boarded the ship. Amongst this last platoon them were the Jesters. Nobody seemed to take notice of the new additions to the platoon. The mercenaries were just banging their way forward, grunting and shouting.

"Undisciplined lot," Hashi thought darkly as he plunged into the mass of sweaty bodies moving forward. "Nothing like the Imperial army!"

One by one, the Jesters slipped undetected into the Lady Eboshi.

[OOC: Senior Sergeant, Hashi. ]

Merrick waited till last to get onboard, to ensure that all of Jester had made it. No one seemed to pay much attention to them, as long as they acted like they belonged there. Luckily Merrick wasn't the only female among them, so she didn't attract any undue attention. She'd seen Tylen slip into the ship a little earlier, and since she hadn't seen him thrown out or heard any disturbances she assumed he was onboard and hiding somewhere. Knowing Tylen, he was probably already trying to get some of the important parts of the mission done. Oh well, as long as he didn't get himself into trouble, it was all good.

When they were finally all on board and the ship was preparing to leave, Merrick wandered off to find the others. They were all standing or sitting around with the other mercenaries, blending in rather well. Without looking too obvious, they all got up and followed her eventually, into a corridor where no one else seemed to want to be. "Ok we only have a few stops before we have to haul ass outta here. We don't want to be on the ship when we get to the military facility." Everyone nodded. "Wander around without looking suspicious or getting yourself into trouble, and see what you can find. If you see anything we need, try and get it, or tell me and I will see what I can do. Don't forget about Tylen, he will be of great use on this mission." At that, everyone wandered off in a random direction. Merrick's commlink beeped at her, so she stayed in the coridor. "Merrick, Tylen here, I've found some info you might be interested in. It's all encrypted though, so I will just have to take it for decryption later. I think it has to do with the people running this operation." Merrick grinned. "Go ahead. Be careful, and see what else you can find as well." She turned the link off, and sighed. Getting on the ship was hard, but it certainly wasn't the most difficult part of the mission.

Frog began a slow wander towards the rear of the ship, he passed a few other crew on his way, and managed to get buy with a smile and a small nod to each. Whenever he could, without someone seeing, he popped his head into a room, and took a quick stock of the contents. Most of the rooms back here seemed to be crew lodging, and he had to make many a quick excuse before he grew tired of that game.

Taking a turbolift down a few levels, he began to inspect what seemed to be an even more barren part of the ship, when he came across a small utility cupboard. Peeking inside, he had a look around, and a slight grin crossed his face as an idea graced his mind. Taking a quick look around to make sure he was alone, Frog hopped into the cupboard and quietly closed the door behind him.

--------------------

"Oi, Rovern, we're dealing again, do you want in or what?" The mercenary known as Rovern looked over his shoulder, and shook his head as he sighed, "Fine, whatever," came back the first voice.

Rovern looked around the large hanger bay, not that it was much of a hanger bay, you wouldn't be able to fit a speeder bike in it, with all the crates laying around. Not for the first time, he wondered who he'd upset to draw duty here, there was only ever three people assigned to guarding the cargo while in transit, and who was going to attack a room full of weapons, while they were in space? And to illustrate just how little his superiors cared, the communications relay down this end of the ship had gone down over an hour ago, causing their comlinks to spew static every now and then, and they were showing no inclination to have it fixed before the next port of call.

Rovern turned around to go watch the other two play cards, just as a head poked through the doorway, and had a look around the room.

"Oi, you there! What're you doing?" Rovern yelled across the room. In response, the head looked at him, grinned largely, and the door produced a body to go with it. Rovern wandered over to get a look at the new comer, who at closer inspection, appeared to be wearing a engineering mechanic's outfit.

"Hey there mate," said the mechanic, "I'm here to do the work ordered on the, errr, the errr..."

Rovern raised a curious eyebrow, and was just reaching around for his blaster, when his comlink decided to interrupt with a loud burst of static.

"The comms relay! Thas right!" said the mech, "Lost the damn work order, didn't I? Knew the high-ups didn't send me down here just to chat with ya's."

Rovern wrapped his hand around the handle of his blaster and took a step back, "So they're sending engineers to fix our electronics now?" he said, flicking his eyes to the insignia on the mech's uniform.

The mech in response, looked slightly taken aback, followed by what could almost have been panic, replaced quickly with another huge grin, "I'm new here, ran outta uniforms they did, only signed up this last port here I did mate."

Rovern sighed, and let go of his weapon, he was going stir crazing being assigned down here, going paranoid with the boredom. "Yeah, 'course, relays right over here, follow me."

Rovern opened the door to the communications room, and lead the way in, he was just in the motion of pointing to the relay box, when his vision went unexplainably black, and he found himself tasting the cold, hard metal of the deck plates.

------------------

Merrick carefully disconnected her datapad from the port, and smiled to herself. "Obviously they're much more worried about being attacked from he outside, then infiltrated from within," she thought to herself, "At least with this data, we can make it home alright."

At this point, her comlink beeped quietly. Raising it to her mouth, she thumbed it on, "Merrick here, report."

Frog's voice came back, somewhere inbetween nervous and childishly amused, "Yeah sarge, I've um.. captured the cargo bay..." Merrick's reply was a groan.

"It really wasn't that well defended, and no-one saw anything to raise the alarm," said Frog, trying to justify himself, "I'll give it back to them if you want..." he added.

Hashi jammed his elbow into the gunner's nose and finished him off with a snap-kick to the groin. The gunner fell down onto the deck in a heap, unconscious. Kneeling, Hashi pulled out a vibroblade from his boot. With a swift movement of his hand, he noiselessly slit the other man's throat, thus making sure he never regained consciousness.

He wiped the blood off his hands, lifted the lifeless body and dumped it into a small tool closet. He flicked out the comlink from his utility belt and thumbed it on.

"Sarge, Hashi here. I'm at one of the Eboshi's blaster cannons now," Hashi said rapidly, his heart pumping  with excitement. "To make our escape abit easier, I was thinking that I should disable it or somewhat."

"Go ahead Hashi," Merrick grunted simply.

Hashi flicked off his comlink, grinning. His grin turned to a frown though, when he looked at all the wiring needed to disable the big gun.

"Sithshit, I knew I should have taken up a Combat Engineer course back at the academy," he muttered.

He looked over the various computer and targeting displays, but they meant nothing to him. His knowledge of electronics was only at elementary level. He was a stormtrooper, not a naval gunner. Pulling open a panel, he played around with the wires, disconnecting and cutting them.

He glanced over at the power reading and saw that it was green, which he assumed meant that the cannon it was still functionable. After a couple of minutes more of fiddling with the wires, the power reading was still green.

Sighing in frustration, Hashi backed away from the big and black cannon. He pulled out his blaster and squeezed out a couple of bolts at the gun. The power reading went dead.

"Damn, I'd be a lucky boy if nobody heard that," Hashi grimaced.

Shaking his head, he wandered off to find and disable more of the ship's armament

"Well at least they don't want me to hold their hands." Merrick hadn't heard much from anyone, but so far almost all of the data they needed had been found. Even the encrypted stuff, which they couldn't be sure of yet, sounded promising. Merrick was just finishing getting a list of the stops of the Eboshi when Tylen called her again. "Hashi got a little noisy with his disabling of the guns. I'm gonna go make sure he doesn't get into more trouble than he can handle." Merrick sighed. "Thanks Tylen, have fun." She didn't need to see Tylen to know he was simply grinning. She disconnected the data cylinders and searched the two bodies she had left on the floor. Just as she stood up, not having found anything interesting, someone stepped into the doorway. "Here now I thought you guys were supposed to protect this ship, not hack up the crew." Merrick turned around to find a crewmember aiming a blaster pistol at her. She smiled at him. "It weren't me, I just found em and thought they might have some stuff worth somethin." He lowered his pistol a little and stared at her. Merrick jumped him and slit his throat with her axe. "Don't stare, it's not polite." She searched him too, before hiding all the bodies and wandering off. Time to call the others and see if they could leave yet. This sneaking around stuff got boring when you couldn't go mad and kill the rooms full of targets.

Hashi gave the last blaster cannon of the ship a violent kick, then another. Static sparks of electricity burst out. It was a much more painful method to render the gun useless, but also alot less noisy than using a blaster bolt. He gave the damn thing one last kick and the power reading finally went dead.

He turned his attention over to the comm displays and began smashing them one by one with a hydrospanner he found. That done, he stepped over the bodies of two crewmen and leaned on the cool durasteel plating of the ship. He could feel blood trickling between his toes where he had rammed his foot against the blaster cannon.

Letting out a soft sigh, he dumped the bodies down a trash compactor, and moved out once more.

---

"I'm sure I heard something coming from here you hutt-ass!"

"Bantha nuts you did Janar! You've been smoking crack again, haven't you?!"

Huddled behind some crates, Hashi listened to the snarling of the two foul-mouth mercenaries. He cursed himself for being too careless and for being far too noisy. The two mercs were getting closer to his hiding place..

Hashi considered his options. Blaster? Nope, that will probably bring the whole ship on him. Knife? Yes, that'll do. But it will be tricky, there are two of them. He quickly slipped out his vibroblade.

"See?! I told you there was no frickin' nothing!!"

Janar and his companion marched past the crates, arguing loudly, incredibly still oblivious to his presence. Hashi slipped silently behind them. When he was almost behind the two, he grabbed Janar by the hair, pulled his head back, and jammed the blade of his knife smack in the middle of Janar's forehead, then he let the twitching body fall to the cold floor.

Janar's companion stared in shock at the knife thrusting into the other merc's skull. But his reflexes were good. He fumbled for the blaster in his holster. Hashi leaped at the man and tackled him roughly.

The two men rolled around like dogs on the floor, each man trying to pin the other down by the throat. Things seemed to looked bad for Hashi, he had only a small build and the merc he was wrestling with was a large strong brute. His opponent had manage to wrung his hands around his neck and was slowly tightening his grip. Gasping for breath, Hashi swung his knee into the crotch of the mercenary.

The mercenary howled in pain. Hashi pushed him off and leapt back on his feet. He slid out the spare vibroblade hidden in his boot and swifly sliced it across the throat of the howling man, silencing him.

He dragged the bodies of the two dead men behind the crates where he had been hiding. That done, he let himself fall to the deck, exhausted from the violent brawl. He groped around for his comlink and weakly thumbed it on.

"Sarge, Hashi here again. I've got into a bit of a tiff here, but it's all taken care of," he said breathlessly. "I got rid of the last blaster cannon, but I didn't find any useful info though."

As Merrick grined down at her latest victim Sokudo slipped out of the shadows. "Hey, boss... I found where the escape route is located, has anyone found the astrogation charts? I'll go ahead and load them up to the systems on the courier craft."

"Hell, Sok, You could sneak up on anyone couldn't you?"

"That's why I'm J-squad's ninja," He said with a grin.

"I have the charts right here once you load them up see what you can do about sneaking around in those shadows and eavesdrop on some of the higher ups around here to find out who they're working for. Just as back-up incase this encrypted data that Tylen found is junk. Once you've done that report in." she told him as she handed him the datapad with the charts on it.

"Gotcha', boss." the ninja replied, as he took the datapad and blended back into the shadows.

"I still want to know how the blazes he does that," Merrick muttered to herself.

Hashi sat on the cold floor catching his breath.  Being able to count his kills on his hands still meant that he wasn't quite used to this and got very nervous after.

Tylen watch the whole incident from a heating duct from the ceiling.  There was one advantage of being small, being you could fit pretty much anywhere.  "Not bad, the guy has some talent."  He thought to himself.  Through the vents he could hear other voices making their way to the gunner spot, undoubtedly Hashi couldn't hear them yet.  2...no 3 were now coming and they had blasters ready, he could hear by the way they ran.  "Be ready" he mumbled to himself.

Hashi still oblivious to what was coming still sat there resting.  2 of the 3 walked in first, blasters ready.  Hashi was stunned.  "Not again"  He said as he started getting up.  A blaster bolt went flying by his head.  Don't move, we're taking you in.

"Like hell you are!"  Hashi yelled standing up and raising his vibroblade and charged forward.  A shot rang from one of the mercenaries hitting him square in the right shoulder.  You could tell they were set just above stun so it still hurt like hell and burned but not powerful enough to take off the limb.  However it did manage to make him drop his weapon.

"Stupid Fool...Now you'll pay"  The mercenaries partner bellowed, raising his blaster to Hashi's head, Hashi who was holding his arm became livid.  As the first shot of the higher powered blaster rifle let out Tylen dropped from the ceiling, two lightsabers in hand glowed a brilliant blue and smoke gray.  The two ancient weapons came down on the two mercenaries.  One striking a shoulder which made its way to the troops heart and the other one coming down straight over the head of the second slicing him into two halves.  They both fell straight to the ground.  The third troop was now directly behind him and fired his blaster.  Tylen turned around in a very graceful manner blocking the bolt while the other cut the man in half at the mid section.  With one more final twist his other saber was able to take the head cleanly off.

"What are you doing!  I could have taken them"  Hashi yelled picking up his vibroblade.  "Yeah...you probably could have, but by the time you would have finished them there would be 30 more guys in here.  But we must hurry they've been alerted to our presence."

Merrick and the other could sense a uneasy feeling from the rest of the mercenaries they were standing by as they all had received word of a disturbance on the south side of the ship.  Merricks comlink beeped.  "Merrick, We need to go..."  the voice unmistakably was Tylen's.  She new his tone of voices too well and knew that when he said this it meant trouble.

Merrick finished programming their route back to VE space into the Courier ship's navicomputer, "That should about do it, now if my boys would just hurry home..."

The door linking the craft to the Lady Eboshi opened, Merrick spun around, and brought her blaster to bear on Frog, who's grin was dampened somewhat by Sokudo's blade at his throat.

"Ladies, please!" said Frog, "No need to be rough, I bring presents!"

Merrick took a closer look at Frog, and felt her jaw drop slightly. Strung over Frog's shoulders was an assortment of about twenty blaster rifles on varying sizes and makes.

Merrick shook her head, "Couldn't help yourself, could you?"

Frog smiled in reply, "Is there somewhere I can put these? I have a satchel of explosives down my pants thats making me somewhat twitchy."

Aboard the courier ship, Hashi sat cross-lapped on the floor, nursing his wounded arm. He touched his shoulder and winced. It hurt like hell! The scent of burned flesh made its way to his nose, making him grimace more. The folks back at base would patch the wound up. A little bacta would work wonders on it.

Right now the courier ship was streaming through hyperspace. They had blasted away from the Eboshi so fast that the mercenaries hardly had time to figure out what the hell had happened, much less bear down their guns on the stolen vessel. Not that the guns would have fired anyway, thanks to Hashi's sabotage work.

Hashi sighed in relief, glad that they were finally on their way back to base. Back to home that is. He was proud of himself. And very satisfied too. Not only had he gotten through his first mission alive, but he had taken down quite a few of the enemy. He had his first experience of a combat wound, but it will only serve to strengthen him for future missions.

His ears picked up the soft fall of footsteps behind him, and he slowly turned around only to find the Jedi looking down on him. Hashi stared at him, stared at the pair of lightsabers clipped on his belt. He felt a sense of gratitude and debt towards the old Jedi. He did after all, saved his ass.

"How's the wound Hashi?" Tylen asked softly, his face devoid of emotion.

"Not bad," Hashi replied, trying to put on a brave face. Tylen could probably see right through him though.

The shadow of a smile could be seen on Tylen's face. He nodded, wheeled around and left Hashi all alone in his bunk again. For a while, Hashi pondered what little he knew about the history of the Jedi.

He picked himself up slowly, wincing again as a sharp pain shot across his arm. Leaving his bunk, Hashi went to mingle with his fellow squad mates. He even laughed at Firefrog's lame jokes. He was just so relieved that they were on their way home.

Merrick opened her eyes and sat up straighter. Vult looked at her. "Hm, thought you were quiet, didn't realise you were asleep." Merrick shrugged and went through her pack. She held out a few bandages to Hashi. "Sorry, forgot I had these until just then." Hashi took them and pressed one against his burn as Merrick wandered off to the cockpit. Frog had taken over for a while so Merrick could rest, but he was obviously itching to get back and talk crap with the others so Merrick took her post back silently. Frog wandered off and was soon back to making a fool of himself with the rest of the squad.

Vult sat on his bunk with barely restrained irritation as he sharpened his daggers.  Only three kills and barely enough inormation found in the areas of the ship he'd investigated to justify his existence.  After savagely sticking his blades back in their sheathes he went back to work trying to repair the rather elegant blaster pistol he'd found in one of the cabins.  The weapon had at some point taken a direct blaster hit and was totally non-functional, but Vult was detirmined to get it working again.  The elegance of the weapon was a perfect compliment to his knives, and he had always tried to make his kills as elegantly as possible.  After a few minutes of tinkering, and after he had watched Merrick leave, he collapsed onto the bunk asleep.

After a while, he was awakened by a few sharp raps to the chest, which had a dagger half-drawn before he realized it was Tylen.  "Your turn at the helm.  Last leg before we get back to base."  Vult shrugged and hopped off his bunk, wide awake with adrenaline.  When he reached the cockpit he wasted no time relieving Merrick and recheckig all the astrogation and ship stats, earning a quick grin from Merrick.  "She's all yours, trooper.  Call me when we get home, Ill take her down."  Vult nodded, deep in the piloting zone, tho not so deep as to prevent another quick glance as she left.

Vult was just starting to get a little tired when the  signal went off telling him to drop out of hyperspace.  He did so, immediately switching on the arranged signal to avoid being detained, or worse simply blown out of the sky.  He quickly punched in the course change that would ring them in proper approach, then just as he was reaching for the caller, Merrick walked into the bridge.  Vult gladly surrendered the pilot's chair, chatted for a bit, then headed back to the bunks.  He noticed as he arrived that everyone was dead asleep, except for Tylen who was sitting in the corner meditating.  Choosing an empty bunk on the opposite side from frog and hasgi, and their exceptionally irksome snoring, he laid out and was dead to the world within minutes.  When he awoke, the result of a boot to the side, he stared up at his squad leader who had a very mischievous smile on her face.  "Way to sleep through the roughest landing ever.  Im amazed this crate can still fly..."  Vult simply grumbled as he realized the room was empty save for him and Merrick.  "Well, c'mon trooper.  Debriefing is in 20 minutes and it'll take us at least 15 to get to the room."

Merrick sat down and looked at her squad. She'd been mean and not let them shower or change before the debriefing, and a few of them looked rather tired. The only person who had permission to be late was Hashi, as he was off getting his wound looked at by a medic. "Ok everyone, sit down and shut up." Everyone did as they were told and looked at Merrick, at least pretending to be interested. "All the info we got has either been handed to Fury or is currently being deciphered. From initial reports, we did good. We got almost everything we needed and wanted, and the encryted info looks to be the rest of it." Everyone looked pleased with themselves. "Good job Jester, and go get clean and rested." Everyone wandered off back to the barracks slowly, obviously in no rush to be anywhere in particular. Merrick finished up her report to Fury, and headed off after them.

[OOC: Woo, story over. Hope we all had fun, and I will see what I can do about getting another one going ASAP. Congrats to Frog and Hashi who both got promotions out of their hard work on this one.]
