Woah, wait a minute! Laguna is Squall's dad?! I never finished the game, thing went funky on my, too, so I couldn't figure why Squall had those funky dreams... Say, does that mean that Julia is his mom?

Julia was the piano girl that Luguna was hanging out with in Galbadia City. I think it was the first of the funky dreams, while Squall and friends were on the train. They said something about Luguna falling in love with her or something like that.

Yeah, Laguna was a Galbad-something soldier, and Squal and Co. were fighting the Galbad-something-ians.

I gotta say, after I played FF7, then I tried to move onto 8, it wasn't the same.  8 annoyed me slightly, but I think I'll play it again just to get it out of the way, maybe start liking it.

I loved all the Final Fantasy's, except for tactics, could never get into that.

And may I say, FF7 was a great plot. The sorceresses looked pretty cool though, 8 was good. 9 was alright, but it lacked a little something, still good. X, X-2 were very different, but I found that they were the most feel-good ones, great games.

And I almost had a heart attack when i read that you thought that Julia was Squall's mom. Here's what happened:

Julia and Laguna kind of had a night together, but nothing much happened, as you saw on the train. But when Laguna had to go to Esther I believe, he didn't come back (sad). Julia then met the general of the galbadian army, and married HIM. They then had one child, RINOA. Julia then died or something like that.

I'm starting up a new file on FF8, just to get 100% refreshed on the plot. And I have beaten the game, but it's literally impossible without Eden or Lion Heart. And I have all the cards ^_^

Now, I basically couldn't understand that card game when I was playing it.  If I ever get to go through it again, I'll more than likely just go beat it.  I'm ganna replay, and beat all of my FFgames.  They're verilly easy once you know them well.  FF7 and X are definetly the ones with the most twist and turns though.  X has the most stuff to do though.  Like going off to Omega and all that stuff.  Plus Penance is practically impossible to beat unless you know everthing about the game.

I agree with you there. Also, after you beat an FF for the first time, things get easier, plus when you go through it again you're more likely to run out of patience, I know I am.

The card game was pretty simple, all you really have to do is avoid the same rule, because you'll probably get confused. But I found the card game to be very benificial, as when you refine cards, you get many spiffy items, like the Giligimesh card or whatever it was, I believe gave you 10 Holy Wars, which gave your whole party invinsibility. Very helpful for fighting Omega.

In FFX though, Ultima and Omega were too easy. As I found that a hit or two with my Yuna seemed to kill them. (Yes, I made her and Rikku into uber-ultimate characters) The Magus Sisters also made the final bosses too easy.

But did you fight penance?  Unless you are referring Ultima as Penance, cause I've never heard of Ultima...  I still havn't beat the game...  To lazy.  I'm right after you get inside sin.  But I know how to do the rest...

What version of the game do you have? They use different names depending on the virsion. You fight it in the ruins, correct? If that's the location of Penance, then yes, I've faught, and beaten it, into the ground if I may add that.

You fight both Ultima and Omega in the ruins. Ultima comes first, an then a bit further on you fight Omega.

Ah...  That game has so many little side quest.  I wish they would have put alot more hidden stufff on X2.  It was abit to easy.  But it was fun.  Don't get me wrong.  I really liked revisiting past places.  Especially Luca and Besaid.  Plus, we actually got a chance to walk around Bevelle.

I would agree. But the advertisements and matchmaking is fun, i still haven't passed them. But the game got very easy when i discovered how to properly use trigger happy. Also, when I made Paine into a Berserker and put an accessory on her that made her a constant berserker. She did about 5000 damage every five seconds, so we (my brother and I) beat the bosses very quickly.

New Game plus is a good feature though. Makes the game much easier, i think that's why I put down the controller a few months ago.

Also, have you beaten the huge area in Bevelle? I haven't.

I was to anxious to beat the game and didn't do it.  But I'd say get yourself to level 80 with some good dress-spheres and keep your head on straight and it should be a breeze.  But the first boss you go up against down there is insane.  He just masacered me.  And if you check on your menu it says that your like 100 levels under Bevelle.

I've been in it before, and I've gotten to I think just passed the tenth floor at level 30. Yes, I beat the game at level thirty. If I continue with my new game plus file, I should have no problem because I'll be able to have two berserkers and only have to worry about one. But, it sucks that you have to go through all hundred floors to get the 100% completion rate.

Like I said, I was to anxious to beat the game, so I missed a bunch of side quest, I'm ganna have to do it all over again.  I'm already using my game plus thing and I'm only at 70% Lol.  I know people who ended int the eighties.

Yeah, I know it gets a bit annoying, but ehre were a few fun side quests, they're just time consuming.

By the way, I beat the game at 80%, and on my new game plus, Im only at 82%.

How far into the game are you, I know alot about the game I'm just to lazy at this point to do the extra stuff.  The one thing that I thought was intriguing was going back and looking what happened at the Theater in Luca.

"Yeah, Laguna was a Galbad-something soldier, and Squal and Co. were fighting the Galbad-something-ians."

Galbadia wasnt always evil. Laguna deserted Galbadia after the war with Esthar. then he went to that village and helped raise Ellone, then she was kidnapped by esthar, and he was captured trying to find her. Then he got her back from Dr. Odine's lab or something.... then somehow he wound up president of Esthar.....

but come on, then ending to VIII is great, and i love the final dungeon. You get to draw all you GF's you missed, plus test how good you REALLY are against OMEGA, who has, 1,000,000 HP and i think...4 or 5 attacks that kill you or take you down to 1 life....all in all...I'll replay VIII, then VII, never play IX again.

10 and 7 were my ultimate feel good games...  In 7 when Cloud found out he was the one who defeated Sephiroth in the first place...  Excelent.  I wish they would have remaid the game into a movie.  But you know, this whole two years later thing is great too...

Oh...  BTW...  I found a great site to download the trailer.  It has all the extra stuff in it, including the picture of Barret and Vincent, and Cloud letting Aeris into that pond thing..  Oh yes.

You can find it at this site:

Ellone or whatever her name is (dont remember that to the letter) was kidnapped by Sorceress Adel's guard, because she wanted to use Ellone's time-travel powers.

Laguna became the president of E-town after he rescued Ellone and locked Adel in the space lock.

I'm not sure how far I'm in, as I haven't played in a while (all hail procrastination!). But I'm sure that I'll be fine, thanks.

After you beat Omega, you get the proof or seal right?

Squal now does 9,999 damage/ renkuzoken slash, then with lion Heart finisher 18 x 9,999 for a grand total of around 250,000/ slash.....gotta love those limit breaks...Oh yah and i just bought a ps2 and FF X and ff X2 so  i can find out all about the hype on X....cant wait

You won't be disappointed, and X-2 is basically a fun-fun game, so its not bad, but play x first *duh*.

What level are your characters at? Mine are all at 100, and theres an easy way, but you have to have Quistis'  Degenerator limit skill. Have her at the yellow hp point, or her at 1 hp with initiative, have the character that you want to level up, and go to the island closest to hell. It's on the western side of the map. Run into a battle, use degenerator, and thats a good 2000-15000 exp at lower levels. Also, there are good draw points on the edge of the island.

right now my chars are in their level 70's. Quixtis i dont use very much (dont ask me why, i didnt realize her limits were so good) so i didnt level her up as much. And i know all about that island, and the island closest to heaven. THats where i fill my auras, ultimas, full lifes and meteors (using Diablos enc-none) and where i got a lot of peices for the max-weapons.

Those must be some of my favourite islands, but they aren't the top two places for fun and rewarding training periods.

The second best would be the tower that you get Odin in, because if you fight like 30+ tonberries (or is it tomberries?) you get to fight the king, and get a cute little GF.

The best place in the game: Cactaur Island! First, they're so cute, and Irvine can kill them in two shots. Also, the fact that you get like 20ap for killing one. But I don't like how they run from you so quickly. Also, the JUMBO CACTAUR gf is probably one of my favourites. You can't boost with it, but seeing it shoot at anything is so fun. I remember the first time i got it: 1:30 am about 3 years ago, dont remember the exact date, but that was an accomplishment.

got both of them. I used cactaur island to beef up all my GF powers. If you give initiative to Quixtis or Irvine, and Auto-haste to Squall, then you can take down 3 or 4 lil cactaurs/ battle. In about an hour of doing that i had all my gf's powers. including Eden which kicks SERIOUS ass(drew from Ultima weapon in Deep Sea lab) and Bahamut (won from deep sea lab) Both of which i think are the best GF's in the game, except for Doomtrain, (omega from fF VII i think) but yah. Another good place to level up is the desert on Centra just north of Odin's tower. Fighting in there dont do jack cept for the tonberry king, b/c each tonberry gives you 0 EXP and 1 AP...altho chefs knives make hand AP ammo for Irvines Limit break.

Man I couldn't keep track of all the GF in FF8...  Of course, in FF7 they have all those hidden ones, and if you get KOTR then you might as well just walk through the rest of the game, because once you have that...  Get double cast(not sure that's what they called it in 7) and you get to use him twice.  You can beat Safer Sephiroth easilly with him.  But otherwise I'd get my people into the 80's before facing him.  It'll make it nice and easy.  Or just get alot of super powerful materia's such as Ultima and Flare...  Ultima is always fun.

As for 8, I never finished it because my playstation freezed in the same spot every time.  Piece of shit...  But that's what you get for over using it...
