On a side note, we have some great members, me not included.
Than is an excellent leader in writing and trying his best at gaming and good at everything. C3PX2 is an excellent gamer. Demonic, I didn't realize how good you were at everything. I am just a writer, but you all are astounding. If only we had two more of all of you.
We have another two weeks, let's go Kaph. And, Hey, if we don't win, we regroup and post the greatest stories ever for the next year. I know my stories have been great. Maybe not the longest, but the content is overwhelming. -----------------------

Did I miss something, or has the Post Reply buttton disapeared in the story.
This Picture is the current (at the time of this post) top and bottom of page 2 in our esc story.
I was logged in while taking these screenshots. So it was definetly not that. I can't figure it out.

Well, as you all know, the ESC has been cut short. It was for the best, the system had major bugs in it. These bugs were being misinterpreted as being intentional by some of us (me included) and caused tension. I just want to make it clear that any hard feelings directed toward certain parties should be forgotten since they were misplaced. It was all due to bugs in a system that had too many parts.
Moving on, we will wrap up the ESC story before next Sunday if they are unlocked soon. We will then return to the Cloaked Reunion story with Nazgul.
Your objectives are simple:
-Take out the 2 remaining artillery battery areas (between 1-3 cannons each) around the Eastern Bunker Complex.
-Flight 3, take out your fighters.
-Take out squadron of stolen TIE Fighters.
-Take out random ground forces attacking the bunker.
Work on these all, but they don't necessarily need to be completed. When the fighters are taken out is when I'll write the final post or when Saturday comes, which ever comes first (though I would like it to be the former).
To the next topic, AWOL check. Post here before Wednesday or you will be placed in the reserves.
My final topic is geared toward forming this squadron into a better force. To start off I would like to list what I think is important:
1) Integrity: Doing what you say you will do.
2) Fulfillment of Duty: Like getting in reports and such.
3) Activity: Kind of self explanatory has to do with posting on the story regularly and such.
4) Positive Attitude: Self explanatory.
5) Team Work: Working together well so that activities go fluidly.
6) Satisfaction: We are doing this for fun, thus we should strive to make stories and such fun.
Your turn, write me at least two original things that you think are important in your "I'm here" post.
I want to note that ideas for this project are based off a book I've been reading. One of those ideas is that we need something that makes us stand out, something that we can be proud of. This is summed up by something called a credo. My idea is that we should specialize Kaph Squadron. We should have a focus for what our duties are from mission to mission. We need to decide on our squadron's specialty and then study about it. This will all be done during the Cloaked Reunion story. Our specialty could be recon, ground support, raiding, ground bombardment, capital ship hunting, infiltration, or any of the numerous options I didn't list. It is up to all of us to decide. So, start sending me ideas via PM ASAP. I'll post a list soon so we can start cutting it down. Of course, we aren't limited in missions to only do our specialty. We will still have to go through dog fights and such, but our main focus will be on the spec we take up. So back to the credo. An example of a credo for if we went recon would be "Kaph Squadron, Recon. Our duty is to give all soldiers the best chance of coming home." It is rough, but you get the point. The credo is us and we are the credo.
Ok men, lets get er done.

Alright, first, I just wanted to say congrats to everyone who got promoted and got medals.
Now for the AWOL reply.
Well.... I've never been the greatest at doing Essay's, but I'll try my best now. I honestly think that one of the best things that can make us a better squadron and help us maintain the Elite Squadron Title is trust. If we expect to accomplish anything, then we must have trust in each other's abilities as a squadron. In other words it means becoming better freinds. I believe that if we can create a bond-- Like one of those bonds you get when you're apart of a football team or something-- Then we can become a better squadron and have more fun with what were doing.
The second quality that I think can make us a better squadron would have to be... Well, all the qualities I've thought of so far we pretty much have. I will say thought that we must improve them, that way we can retain the Elite Squadron Title. More activity would be nice though, seeing as the most active flight is flight 3, and Than Sion. It was pretty much just us with the help of Etan and Than....
Than Sion, I would also like to say thanks for keeping us in there. You didn't burn out and kept posting. Basically you busted your ass for the squadron. I respect you very much as a squadron leader, and its great to be serving under you.
But anyways, if we can become tighter as a squadron, and become a little bit more active, then we'll take the ESC title again... And believe me, you guys are gonna love it. -----------------------

Great job in these past two or more weeks, and congratulations to everyone who got something.
I'm here.
The two things that haven't been mentioned that, in my opinion, are important and concern more of the technical aspect of things are:
1) Recognition: If a pilot hits the ground running with activity and such, he needs to be rewarded. If he isn't rewarded, there is a high chance that said activity stops because he wasn't seen. Sure, this may be because he didn't send a report, but this also applies to those who do report and aren't rewarded. I haven't been around long enough to know whether or not this is a problem in the navy, but I believe it is important for everyone to be satisfied to a certain point.
2) Communication: Obviously, without communication there is a long list of things that can go wrong in almost every aspect of the squadron. If we don't talk to one another, we don't know one another. This makes stories harder and really separates us from being one entity, not just a bunch of pilots that are thrown somewhere and given one title. |

Determination: The have to be determined to do your best at anything you are doing.

Couple of things: Nabric- you need an ID Line.
Kaph Squadron: You talked about 'specializing' yourselves: this can be a dangerous route as it very much eliminates story ideas, though it can also open many more. By specializing you can mean many thing though- as a whole, you can be all bombers, interceptors, yadi yada... Or you can 'specialize' meaning that each member of your group holds a position that makes them a part of the whole. One way I can think of allowing the latter to happen is to inform your pilots about the Skills and Studies program. Very simply- you can build groups based on particular qualities: you have a medic on the team, a weapons specialist, a builder, a survivalist- so on and so forth. Either way, you can build your team around a certain idea- a specialized idea if you must have it that way. Lemme know if you have questions about that, otherwise I've probably just confused the whole lot of ya  Congrats to all who were promoted as well.
PS- I try and reward those who hit the ground running myself: the first week of active-duty is really an extension of BT. I watch the recruits the entire time. -----------------------

As for activity... Etan, you were doing a good job for the ESC when it came to writing, and I appreciated your effort. As for Nabric, he couldn't write because he came back to late. Let's show everyone what we can do this up-coming ESC guys, and I'm not only saying that to Flight 2, but to the entire Squadron. Lets prove them wrong. -----------------------

Ah, sorry, as things turn out, Tiamut isn't offical VE property, so I can't officially captain it as part of VE. Thus, I won't be going back to Kaph, at least not officially. Unofficially, I'm the captain of it, and we are more than welcome to write squadron stories together with it.
Shazam and Art have offered me the captain position for a Carrack cruiser, official Captain position. So, officially, for documentation purposes, so long Kaph.
But I will remain as captain of Tiamut, so no frets, I still get my Kicks on IRC :P. -----------------------
