Ya, i got bored one night and decide to have a survey every week just for the "sh*ts&Giggles"

Sheepy, for once, has a point.
Original Beetle - started out as a 4 at best, still clocks in about 7
New Beetle - have to give it a 2. Damn thing is like a large version of the Barbie cars my sisters used to leave around the house for me to trip on. Now I've got to drive around the damn things. |

I'm half tempted to start a thread about cars that are nowhere near as cool as their former incarnations. The Beetle is a prime example of this; however, America does just fine on its own. Consider the following:
The new Mercury Cougar (yecch!)
The Chevy Nova from the late 80s
Many can argue the Impala and Monte Carlo...they are kinda cool but not quite their former selves
Even the Buick Skylark got mutated
I am holding out great hope that the Australians can't mess up the venerable Pontiac GTO but I guess I won't know until next year.
I know there are other examples. Who has them? |
