Greetings everyone,
a few from you was here and saw what happend last sunday, but anyway.
Will we have a Meeting this Weekend? yes or no. cause myself and a few other ppl would prefer to know that before we again sit there and waste our Time waiting for a Meeting which gets then cancelled.
A Meeting even a small one would be a start to go back to regular things and you cant deny that we would have to work on some things cause the overall activity and moral is low, nearly to ground level.
Things are not working well atm, Time to go back to Things which help to change that.

Well, since I'm getting back up to speed on things, I will definitely have some notes to either say or have relayed by someone else.
Point is, it was a holiday weekend here in the US. The likelihood of there being a meeting was pretty low to begin with. As for previous weeks, we can go back and forth on that and solve nothing in the process.
Also, instead of turning your ire towards the HC, why not direct it towards the membership which does not participate in the (admittedly meager) activities that currently exist? All members share some of the blame for the lack of reports being written and activity they are based on. I know its easy to gripe at the big targets but this is not solely an HC problem.
Just speaking for the army, I know there are two stories in progress and some smatterings of individual intra-squad activity. But very little (re: nada) in the way of administrative transfers or promotions. Granted, these things need to be earned not given, but if the HC and Division heads are to take their deserved shots at the lack of meeting material, so should everyone else.
Basically, instead of pointing fingers, let's try to find ways to use this anger and get things rolling again. -----------------------

Let's not dog the HC for something they try to fix. IF the membership of the Ve won't do anything the HC creates or puts in front of them, then that is there fault. The HC can't make you do their wills, well some of them can't anyway. If you want to get activity, encourage your troops and pilots. Give them incentives and rewards, offer promotions and yes even ICs. I know some people don't care too much about them. Anyway, I agree with Fury, it's not just the HC fault, if they have any blame whatsoever. -----------------------

allright, now i talk again, Read trough my post have i blamed the HC only? no i thought i wrote the OVERALL Activity is low, that counts in the HC AND the Membership, but the different between my opinion and yours is im not blind to Mistakes from booth Sides.
Yes, Members are guilty too cause the Activity but yes, not only the Members. blame who you want, the normal Members, their Squad/Squadron Commanders, me, whatever, but never forgett to look into the Mirror and think about "What can I do what should i do" before you close your eyes and dont see every point of the Medall.

There are seven players in the ICAM.
Out of 7 players for the ICAM, only one is in the Navy.
This is open to them as well - and unless there are enough players, I won't have anything to report on, so we won't need a meeting.

Also, let me add that some members may have put in a sudden burst of activity in some competition and expect a reward (promotion, medal, etc.) for their activity. Well, just to get this clear for you: yes, medals, promotions, etc. are given to those who earn them, but you will not get anything just for some sudden burst of activity. That's not quite earning it. You have to get that burst of activity NOW and keep it going. Earn it. -----------------------

I agree with just about everyone here! Activity is at an all-time low. I liked the commanders meetings that we had once and a while; I think we should start those up like maybe one a month. Also, as well as taking blame for ourselves, we must also try and fix the problem as a whole. Let's work together (like we used to a while back). The only cooperation I see are on the stories as far as things go on the trooper level. Even then, the troops are just following orders. I'll admit I haven't been active seeing finals are coming up. For the next month though, my activity should be higher than usual I promise. Anyways, let's try and get back on the ball. -----------------------

Activity is not at an all-time low. You creatures were spawned at a time of high activity and you know nothing else. The Vast Empire works in waves. It goes inactive after a great time of stories and gaming. Then people get sick of it, jobs change hands, and we have IOC days again.
This is not to imply something shouldn't be done. I am offering a positive attitude as to the VE's status. I applaud your efforts and they aren't being ignored by anyone. -----------------------

I would just like to say that I thought the meeting yesterday went very well.
I believe that was the first meeting I have been able to attend since July, and it felt really good to be there. Things seemed to be flowing along well and there was actually quite a bit talked about.
The main thing that we need to work on now though is getting people to show up. I know it's hard - the time isn't perfect, people forget to come in, people have lives - but we can still try to increase the number of VE members there on any given week. Like Three has said, 40% attendance from each division would be a nice goal to aim at. The Navy was in the 20s today; I don't know about the Army, but I doubt it was a whole lot higher.
So ... anyway ... good job on the meeting today. And thanks to everyone who showed up. -----------------------
