Warning: By reading this post you run the risk of making some money. Anyway.. heres what the plans are for the new staff, and positions etc etc etc.. CHIEF STAFF The Chief Staff will consist of the Chief Editor (Makes sure everyone is in order, handles outside things - i.e. PAY!), Deputy Editor (Liasons with Editors to put the articles together (with graphics), assists Chief Editor), Technical Editor (Runs website, puts articles up etc). So far, the Chief is myself, the Deputy is Corran and the Technical is Liquid. Since I'm me, I automatically get my job   Corran has shown he is adept at his job, and I know Liquid is good with websites, so will cope easily as well. (The reason I've put a Technical Editor in is to make the Deputy Editor does more editing things - there will be plenty to do, and I don't want the Deputy doing the website as well) NEWSPAPER STAFF Under that will be three sub-newspapers: Imperial Telegraph, Imperial Mirror and Imperial People. Each of these will be headed by an Editor. The Editors job is to make sure their staff write their sections and get them to him/her/it on time. Some Editors may also want to write their own sections. Once they have the sections, they must spell check them, grammar check them etc. Basic stuff. Under them will be 2-3 reporters. Their jobs are to write their sections, spell checking them as much as possible (adding graphics if possible), and give them to their Editor. Easy, eh? They also have to talk to their Editor about suggestions for things to write about - and suggestions for how VE Today should change. That sort of thing OTHER STAFF There are no other staff. RANKS One of the two things I'm sure you've been waiting for, eh? Well, there are a few.. Editors: Senior Editor Junior Editor Reporters: Senior Reporter Junior Reporter Exciting, eh? Basically, to move up, it goes like this: JUNIOR REPORTER > SENIOR REPORTER > JUNIOR EDITOR (NEWSPAPER EDITOR) > SENIOR EDITOR (NEWSPAPER EDITOR) > TECHNICAL/DEPUTY EDITOR > CHIEF EDITOR Exciting.. bet you wish you'd never read this bit. Ranks are just there to say "You've been here 3 months, and you've worked hard. Heres a promotion to inflate your ego". Its also so we know exactly who is eligible to become a Newspaper Editor (the Senior Reporters), and who could become the next Deputy (a Senior Editor). PAYMENT The other thing you've been waiting for! I'll cut to the chase and put this up quickly and simply.. CHIEF EDITOR PAY: As much as I can get.. err.. I mean.. none. I'm doing this out of the good of my own heart. DEPUTY/TECHNICAL EDITOR PAY: In negotiation with VEEC - probably 150% of Reporter pay (i.e. Reporter = 10k, Deputy Editor = 15k) PAYMENT FOR ONE COMPLETED SECTION FOR REPORTER: In negotiation with VEEC PAYMENT FOR NEWSPAPER EDITOR: 125% of Reporter pay (i.e. Reporter = 10k, Editor = 12.5k) PAYMENT FOR DIFFERANT RANKS: None Being paid will be on completion of tasks. The Chief Editor will tell the VEEC who deserves their pay, and only those people will get it. You pull your weight, you get the dough. You do nowt, you get nowt. POSITION VACANCIES Do you want a job? Take this test to find out which one! 1) Do you want to write fiction (GO TO 2) or non-fiction (GO TO 3) 2) Do you want to write serious (GO TO 4) or non-serious (GO TO 5) 3) Do you want to report on news (GO TO 6) or VE issues (GO TO 7) 4) Serious Fiction - Imperial Telegraph VE Developments -i.e. "Power plant explodes on VE Home planet, killing 300" 5) Non-Serious Fiction - Imperial Mirror Tabloid - i.e. "Darkhawk ate my husband" 6) Non-Fictional News - Imperial Telegraph SW Gaming News OR Imperial Telegraph VE News 7) Non-Fictional VE Issues - Imperial Telegraph Business (Store info etc) OR Imperial People (Interviews, opinion etc) If you want a job, let me know here.. Heck, I would love to write stuff...but I am going to school in a month, plus I'm not THAT great at writing.  I might be interested, Bear.  Any number would suit me...I think.  it IS a little confusing, using all those numbers and all. Oh, and a little money wouldn't hurt
