Physical Description

Ross is of average height with stark black hair. It is usually kept rather long and disheveled but is still short enough to be styled to the side for a more formal appearance. Ross keeps a short beard mostly because he's too lazy to maintain a clean face with how quickly it grows. His heavyset eyebrows and shallow bags beneath his eyes make him look more tired than he actually is. He is in peak physical condition and moderately muscled due to his training in Echani martial arts, a hobby he started at a young age. Over the years he has commissioned many tattoos along his left arm and one of a large meditation fish on his right shoulder.

Personality

Ross is a friendly fellow, lighthearted and slow to anger. He always tries to see the best in people and usually maintains a positive outlook on life. A music enthusiast and art lover, one will often find him humming to himself or singing idly. He loves to drink and can often be found at a nearby bar or cantina, enough to be considered borderline alcoholic. He almost always keeps a flask of his favorite Correlian ale on his person.

Character’s Background

Born and raised on Correlia by his father, Davin, and his mother, Anji, Ross had a happy childhood with his younger brother, Wes. He attended a university in Coronet City to study art. Unable to find an immediate job as an artist, he joined his father's trading business as a pilot of a cargo frigate. Meanwhile, his brother had joined the holovid industry as an actor. Ross got his good friend Ender a job with his father's company aboard his ship as an extra crew member. Ross and Ender met at the university as spice buddies. Ender convinced Ross to start a smuggling career under the guise of his father's company. The two of them maintained their smuggling operation successfully for a number of years.

Their luck eventually failed them when they were caught with their cargo full of illegal spices. Their ship was attacked by pirates that had caught wind of their smuggling operation. They managed to escape, but with the ship badly damaged, they had to stop at the closest planet for costly repairs. One of the engineers working on the ship discovered the contraband and blackmailed Ross for all he was worth. Despite paying the man, they soon found their ship searched by local authorities who had been tipped about the smugglers cargo. Ross was arrested and fined, forcing his father to come and bail him out. Having shamed his father and damaging the reputation of the company with the scandal, he was disowned and fired. Jobless and creditless, Ross wanted to restore his dignity and one day return to face his father with honor. With his experience as pilot, he decided to join the Imperial Navy.
