Hey, folks. My latest post has the
Adjudicator totally overwhelmed by that second Golan station, which was never dealt with by friendly VE forces. It's unclear exactly how bad the damage is, but the ship is likely out of the fight for the foreseeable future. And without her, the campaign to conquer Corellian is in serious trouble.
I'll reiterate here what I said in my OOC note: the default of this literary rpg is that the game kills the protagonists. Without members (writers and role-players) making informed decisions and bringing their characters to life, the assumption is that the rag-tag 'Vast Empire' faction will lose. It will be ripped apart in the ongoing wars of succession, and forgotten. Only through our continuing play does the game continue.
I'll say again that I'm not
mad that folks have been absent, whether out on official leave or just succumbing to the recent lull. It's totally fine. It happens to everyone, real life always comes first, and cycles of inactivity are tough to fight our way out of, collectively. But the consequences of not participating are simple: the game ends, and we all lose (both IC and OOC). That's not me trying to be a hardass. That's me trying to apply the formula underlying what we do here in the VE, even when it leads to results I don't like, in-story.
My VE birthday is in a couple days: 3 years with this community, and almost 200 story posts. I've decided to retire after Chapter 9, for various reasons, and even though I'll likely pop in every now and then after that, I'd like my last active duty run-on to be another VE victory. The only way that can happen, though, is if people get back into the story.
So, what'll it be? Will the VE conquer Corellia and the other planets of the system, with Trykon able to retire in-story after a mostly-successful career? Or will we have bitten off more than we can chew, ending in our defeat, and possibly even Trykon's death?
I'm going to write it whichever way upholds the principles of this collective storytelling club we're in. I know which one I'd prefer, though.

Help me, Obi-wan Keno-guys. You're Trick's only hope!
