I expect everyone to talk to everyone on the ship whether they're in Jexxel, Strill, an NPC squadron, or if they're even in engineering or medical divisions. The possibilities are endless. Well said Avvie and Gur!  Lots of interaction is the key here, and perhaps even more so with some new folks coming through from the Academy.  We want them all to feel welcome and involved quickly to show them what a great place this is!

As for myself I am working on my next post and it should be up tomorrow.  I shall then be away for the weekend (probably without net access) but I know the story is in good hands.

And Gur, NPC ideas for Strill?  Hmm... I shall have a think!

Okay, a little announcement!  Further to Fishhead's earlier remarks about my NPC Chief Medic's rank, I've been going through the Paragon's NPCs and noticed that many are still Petty Officers (with the exception of my XO, Eylana Saitroni).

The reasoning for this was initially because my character was only a Warrant Officer when they were created as part of my SCTP (Ship Captaincy Training Programme).

However, as I thought about this more, this makes increasing sense to still be the case.  Unlike in the 'real' Empire, in the VE one only needs to be a Warrant Officer to command a capital ship.  With this in mind I am inclined to keep my NPC command staff at their current ranks.  IC this explains why they haven't abandonned me to go command their own ships.  OOC this allows for players to quickly overtake them in rank and actually become the bridge officers and senior staff of the Paragon.

So good news for you Fleet side folk!  If you want to be Chief Gunner or Helmsman or whatever of the Paragon its now a lot closer!

The immediate ramification of this is that Fishhead, you are now of sufficient rank to usurp NPC Padrin Praan and become the Chief Medic of the Paragon!  The position is yours at the conclusion of this story.  For now Padrin is in charge, reflecting that fact that Serpent knows him better.  If you wish, work into the coming story a power struggle, and give my character a reason to finally tire of Praan's attitude and give you his job!

This post is more or less laying the foundation for Serpy-werpy's replacement of his CMO.

I'll join the others in saying: Congratulations, Fishhead.  Or should I say DOCTOR Fishhead?  It's well-earned.

In other news, I got through my class presentation this week without incident, so I have some free time in the next few days to write.  Should finally make an appearance in the new story soon!

Yay, Avvie!  I'm finally in, too.  First post is ALL character development, though, so not terribly exciting to read, I'm afraid.  Still, I tried to give some hints about what might be coming from me: Imperial Jedi Order Trykon is finally coming out, in every sense of the phrase!

I'll have a new post up soon. I would have had one up by now, but I've been hit with giving 4 presentations next week... So I'm focusing on those right now.

Hey guys. I'm going to have to disappear for the rest of this week. Final projects and assignments are kicking my butt, and my productivity has fallen pretty low. I'll see about getting a post in the next week when I don't have a football game stealing my entire Saturday >.<

Just want to echo Trick there!  Some great contributions from the newer folks, glad to see you jumping right in and getting involved!

Great to hear Avvie!  I am also working on my next post, the one that will move us to the battle itself.  It won't be up for a few days yet and when I have a fixed date I shall give you all plenty of warning!  For now, keep working on CD and be ready for the chaos!
