The story is a good read so far, and plenty of activity to boot. I for one an appreciative of the level of people and writers who are amongst us. I thank command for the opportunity to be allowed to work with each and everyone of you.

Talk to me before you say how you found out, after the chapter is over. Betrayal is a touchy subject, especially in a time of war, and Strill already have a bit of a reputation that adding betrayal to would not help. I'd imagine that the only ones who would know the truth of the situation will be Gur, Joamer, Serp, Tryk and the rest of the high ups.

Which reminds me: if we could have some sort of debriefing about Tinker, that would be awesome. I imagine VENI would want to get involved, which might lead nicely into covert surveillance of Gorgy boy here?

I'd imagine that the official line would be that he was killed by the enemy forces, but as with any Navy, there will always be scuttlebutt. Rumours that he was a traitor would no doubt be among them.

I'm going to have some fun messing with Gur psychologically though. I have a feeling that he's going to take this betrayal very personally ......

Understood Gorog, get back to us when you can.  Trust me, as a guy who uses Windows I can sympathise with computer problems...

And Tzism, nice post there!  My own next post is coming along nicely, but this weekend has gotten away from me.  Any hope of getting in an 'extra' post is gone.  Therefore my next post shall be the last one and story ending.  Expect it up wednesday or perhaps a day or two later.

One thing I'm going to bring up, though. His wiki page still says he's on the Defiance and is a PO1. If it's alright, I'm going to bump him up to the baseline command rank, being Ensign. Not touching the wiki page, but thought it would make more sense to have him hold actual rank IC.

@Serpent: Mind if I include a face-to-face meeting of 2nd Fleet's SCAPs on your ship? I'm wanting to use it to explore the situation of Serpent's position versus Drac's rank and reputation that you referred to in the original post.

Regarding that, how do you want to play it? Drac's nature is to make it clear that Serpent is in charge and that Drac has no problem with that, but we may still want to add tension from NPC SCAPs wanting to look for Drac's lead on things rather than Serpent's.

Edit: Also, regarding Commander Serpy-wer...err, Serpent: I trained him, so only I get to invent derogatory nicknames for him.

And Drac, yes, feel free to develop that angle.  I'm not going to say that Serpent is feeling insecure around the far more accomplished Drac but... no, he is insecure!

But yes, lets play it with Serpent and Drac being cool with the way things are, but the SCAPs simply default to asking Drac's opinion (whether they intend to cause offense or not).  Roman, feel free to jump in and either stir the pot or ignore both of us as you will!
