PLOT TWIST!

Well, I said I would reveal more about Grent's Mandalorian past, didn't I? And some of you knew I planned on turning him into, essentially, a Deapool-esque character. Soooo ...... this happened.

Okay, I just made a little combat post, and it will be my last for a while.  I'm off for 5 days, during which Trykon will be taking lead on the story.  Have plenty for me to read when I get back!

(and also, aplogies to all for any confusion I might have caused regarding where Jexxel are in this battle.  I clearly misread something, thinking them with the Adjudicator.  To be clear, Jexxel are hidden in the docks and are currently free to engage any enemies within the mine field perimeter.  Sorry again!)

Still on leave, but I should be back tomorrow!  Just to be totally clear, there are only 3 squadrons on Adjudicator right now.  Strill, Jexxel, and Gundark are all away, hiding in the docks in various locations.  Gundark is probably close to Jexxel.  Have at it, folks! 

Its been a while since I posted, but I am now truly back from holiday and fully active!

My latest post is up, and it heralds the arrival of the Republic to the fray!  The force that was prevously acting as observers to the Corellians have, with the arrival of Trick's forces, decided to get involved.  They are led by Admiral Gaeth, who I have depicted as a Cathar (I'm pretty sure no one had mentioned his race before).  Feel free to use him as you see fit!

On another note, can I just welcome Drac to the story!  Been too long since I last wrote with you, my friend!

I'd also like to urge our newest members to jump in!  elricshadowheart, welcome to the VE!  If you need any help at all finding an 'in' for your character, please do not hesitate to PM me!  And it also seems like new member Yoshi is almost ready to graduate!  Yoshi, have a read and catch up with the story, and if you also need anything explained or whatever, again, I'm just a PM away!

As for the rest of us, I know that many are busy (especially those about to return to school or college), but let's try to get in some more posts, even short 500 word ones!  We currently have a big lead over the Army's story, and I'd like to keep it!  Let's show our new members what the VEN is all about!

@Gurlanin: To add length, one of the best techniques is to look for places to engage different senses. Most people don't often include senses other than sight and hearing since they're naturally how we communicate most. Adding details that relate to smell, taste, touch, etc gives a double-bonus of increasing the length of the post and making the post more engaging for the reader by fleshing out the scene.

I do like seeing all the figures added up.

And I've finally managed to write a plus 1000 word post, but seeing as my previous post is also the most recent, I'll hold off for a few more hours. Who knows? I might be able to increase it to a 2000+ word story!

Also, am I right in thinking that there is going to be multiple parts to this Chapter? If so, will the post count for all be added up, and put together? Just wondering if we might break the record two stories in a row .....

Anyone want to post before I do my double post? I mean, it's been 24 hours, and no-one's posted .....

Wait as long as you think you can, Gurlanin, but you're technically past the mandatory waiting period at this point.  While double posting should be avoided, there are just some times it can't be avoided, and that's okay.

Oh, and you remember in CCeath how I had an itching to post? Well I've got it again. The only problem is that I don't know enough about the story to write much more.

So I'm off to find a good NPC in some far flung place in the battle. Any preferences? Can I bring back the Defiance? Is she even in the area?

Nice post Gur, and you too Roman!  While I do love a fast and furious starfighter battle, it is good to see some of our capital ships getting some time in the spotlight too!

And on that note my next post is up, the first of two posts detailing a capital ship on capital ship battle.

Of more import is the detail in there about the Republic.  They are entering the fight, but slowly.  Their intent is that the Corellians will soften us up for them, so we can't let that happen!  Let's crush the Corellians and be ready for the Republic!
