I'm a new recruit and looking to start my training.  I have a little bit of literary role play experience and looking forward to joining VE. 

Any help is appreciated in getting me up to speed.  I'm a hard worker and promise to serve the Navy well.

Welcome to the Vast Imperial Navy, Vitruvius.

I am Rear Admiral Stormz, the Naval Commander in Chief. I'll go ahead and get you started on the first phase of training.

For Phase I, you'll need to create a biography for the character in which you will be writing as. There is an article in the Vast Empire's wiki explaining, in detail, things we like and need in your biography.

Also on the wiki, we now have in depth segments called 'Flight School' and 'Command School', you are free to choose either path. Flight School, obviously, will get you in the seat of a TIE Interceptor. When you've finished, you'll be placed as a member of a squadron.

Command School places you on the bridge of one of the Vast Empire's illustrious capital ships. Upon completion, you'll be placed as a Junior Officer aboard a capital ship.

Welcome to the Vast Empire's Naval Academy, Crewman Vetruvius.

My name is Warrant Officer 2nd Class Wyl Trykon, and as some folks have suggested, I'll be your Training Officer (TO) while you go through the Academy's Orientation program.  I'll be around to help get you acclimated to life in the Vast Empire (a process we call, "Basic Training"), the most important part of which is learning how to role-play as a member of the Vast Empire's Navy in an ongoing, collaboratively-written story (a set of skills which is taught in something we call, "Flight School" for those who want to pilot starfighters, or something called, "Command School" for those who wish to crew capital ships).  As our esteemed Admiral StOrMz suggested, both of these career paths are open to you: the Starfighter Corps or Fleet Command.

I see you have some literary rp-ing experience; I'm looking forward to seeing what you can do.  As far as your Navy career after graduation, there are plenty of options, but for right now, let's focus on getting you through Basic and one of the training Schools.

With your first post here on the Naval Academy board, you've completed Imperial Initiation (well done) and are hereby clear to begin Flight School or Command School, which will prepare you for daily life in the VE's Navy.

Your next step should be to visit the VE Wiki page for Basic Training, found here, and choose which career path you'd prefer: starfighters or capital ships.  Follow the link to your chosen School, and begin working on Chapter 1: Character Development by clicking the appropriate link.  When you finish the assignment for Chapter 1, post your work here (bio and ID line), so I can review it, and we'll proceed from there.  Please note: here in the VE, we write stories in the third person, past tense; you should too.
