Second round of major revision/additions underway: this time, I'm adding another training regimen parallel to Flight School, for folks who want to join Fleet Command when they join the VEN instead of the Starfighter Corps. It's not done yet, but I've made a good start. Stay tuned...

Okay, the addition of an entirely new, parallel training track in the Academy pages is complete. I present to you: Command School, the Fleet Command equivalent of the Starfighter Corps's Flight School. To see the pages, go ahead and visit the Basic Training page, and read/click through the Command School pages.

Some of the pages aren't pretty, and many could use some fleshing-out, but what's there now SHOULD be sufficient for training new recruits up to the level of Junior Bridge Officer - the FC equivalent of the Flight Member position in the SC.

Naval Achievement Ribbon [NAR], The 'E' Ribbon [E] and Imperial Marine Certification (All tiers) now have their own ribbons. They're not particularly fancy, but they're better than no ribbon at all! ^_^

I did - those pictures are taken directly from the wiki site itself. Just copy the picture's url (right click), and the last bit will be what ya need. I haven't edited them into the medal registry, because I cannot for the life of me figure out that mess...XD

Alright.

First I added links on the Xenobiology page and added an image for the blank spot on the page:

Also, on this page, it feels like it was set up to be a Certification page. It has 'Overview and Tiers' and 'Mission 1.' Were there going to be multiple missions set up for this skill or can I go ahead and standardize it to the Skill page template?

I'm planning on fleshing out the Navigation page, possibly tomorrow.

I fixed the box on the Environmental page. "Environmental" was italicized:

When I get a chance, I'll update the links on that page to match the rest of the skills. It's a bit out of place.

That's all I've found for now. There seems to be a few pages where the links aren't as clean as they could be. Requesting permission to freely touch the setup of the link without posting the links, as the change is very minimal.

One other thing, I was looking through ribbons and noticed that there were quite a few ribbons that had no image yet. Can I try my hand at those medals and submit them here?

I love when new folks turn out to be super helpful in multiple ways.

You're clear to do touch-up work as you find it on the Academy pages, Fishhead, unless Slasher overrules me. Try not to take away - only fix grammar/typo things, and add relevant links and such. Go ahead and keep posting here if you make any major changes. Thanks!

I don't know how this will go over, but I was looking through the Certification pages... And I noticed a few certifications that I thought might be of use. If no one minds me giving them a go.... Imperial Diplomat and possibly a Gunnery Specialist.

The Special Warfare Combatant certification: tier 2 is supposed to show abiility to fight in Zero-G. Does that mean that the candidate should have the Zero-G skill or that he or she will gain the skill at the same time as the certificate?

Diplomat has potential, for sure. I think for now we can leave Gunner as a smaller part of the Bridge Officer Certification, though.

In terms of the relationship between the more hand-to-hand skills/certs, someone else would probably be better qualified to answer that. My instinct would be you'd have to get the Skill first, before writing the relevant Cert, but again, the hand-to-hand stuff isn't really my area.

It's something we've wrestled with for a while, but haven't really nailed down yet. There're other places where certain ancillaries would seem to be prerequisites for a given Cert. For now, roll with not required but highly encouraged.

I think that falls into the category of, "it would be nice but it isn't really feasible." I feel like a centralized list would be a lot of work to put together, and almost immediately fall behind creation/editing, and never be properly maintained. That sounds pretty negative, but I just don't see it working without a LOT of continuous effort, and even if it could be done, those man-hours would be better spent doing other things. /me shrugs.

The best workable solution is that, if you do have difficulty finding something, make a note of it. Once you do find it, build redirect links into the most logical pages for someone to go looking, so they'll be funneled into it. (Hint: Same pages you didn't find it on earler.

)

For example, for 2nd Fleet I might have redirect links in the pages: 2nd Fleet, Second Fleet, Vast Empire 2nd Fleet, Vast Imperial 2nd Fleet, Vast Empire Second Fleet, and Vast Imperial Second Fleet.

Doing this will minimize difficulty over time.

That's correct last I heard. If you want the most up to date list of the medals we currently use, go to the Naval Awards page. The other main one is the Fleet Medal Board, but that's more of a record of who has what and is terribly out of date.

The notes are appropriate, Sword, but next time just ask an Academy staff member... we've got a general overhaul in the works for all of the Academy's wiki pages. No big deal, but yes, in future just ask one of us via PM first.

I've updated the Nightshrike page - not major edits, I just added myself, Ryn, and Shadow-sword as well as removing those that are not longer in Nightshrike. I also listed the active story and replaced Stewart Power with Fyston as the XO.

Basically, I just brought it up to date because it was annoying me
