A couple things:

First off, you'd need to get some MAJOR approval from Kadann. Second of all, some of our stories need to be massively cleaned up to be in acceptable "book format". (Mind you I started working on just that a few years back, never got too far with it...got to be a headache)
Then if both of the above conditions are true, SOMEONE is going to actually have to obtain copyrights which may or may not bode too well for us here in the VE...Lucas can be funny when it comes to clubs like ours and copyrights. Anywho, those are just my thoughts. Anyone else got anything to add?

Have you read the stories?

A squad is roughly six, seven people (last time I checked), each post is from their own point of view and at varying levels of writing prowess. A good story goes for, what, an average of twenty posts?

Couple that with the fact that we operate in our own heavily modified canon and that the majority of our stories reference things from past posts, which don't make a lick of sense (For the most part) if you're reading from an outsiders perspective... which your audience would be, unless you had the idea to sell the book back to VE members, but then what would be the point.

So combining this canon with regular starwars canon, which is convoluted enough as it is, would be like trying to stuff a two-sizes-too-big, barbed square into a circular hole, which was on fire and covered in bees.

In my opinion, you'd be better off inventing your own Sci-fi universe and writing all new stories. You'd save yourself hours upon hours of time and frustration.


And now we have an opinion from the entire Ve spectrum. Rizzit the always professional AHC'er. Ae, A long-time, well respected Vet; and Jager, the loveable loose cannon with a mean streak a mile wide.

So far, what IG's seen are probably all Navy stories... which are, granted, a bit different from army's, or so I've heard. They're more drawn out, sometimes more in depth. However, I'd still have to agree with all three of them, on the basis that VE stories are sooooo out of whack with the rest of SW Canon that it's just next to impossible to compile the stories for publishing, unless you're looking to spend 10 years doing it, then lose 10 more years due to frustration and anger... and all the other good stuff.

Well, to be honest, I think that keeping back-ups is a good idea. Making money would
1) bring LucasArts down like a ton of bricks
2)probably not work anyway- post quality varies quite a bit
3)Members would be outraged

However, posting group stories to ff.net and keeping backups in case the VE comnet goes down at some point seem like good ideas.

I think that it would be a massive undertaking that probably would never be finished and so it should never be started in the first place. Thats my opinion and I'm sticking to it.

And for the record, the only way that Army and Navy stories differ are the way in which they're perceived. There are good posts and bad posts in every story, long posts and short posts, brief posts and detailed posts. To classify an individual's writing style under a stereotype is nothing if not a gross mistake, and in my personal opinion it's as repugnant as it is offensive.
