He made a modified IDMR logo for the VE? Now I'm not longer happy... and now I have to go and redo the whole thing... oh well, back to the drawing board...
I also want to point out that both the Javelin banner and the insignia/banner for Rhegent's Reign both use the old Imperial insignia Leading Crewman Cayden "Amacuse" Tavers

I would say its okay to use the Imperial insignia- we are Imperials, after all, if not mainline Imperials.
Amacuse, that was almost exaclty what I was thinking of...and you made it look freaking awesome. All I can suggest on it is to bring the TIE silhouettes a little closer to the Imperial insignia and clean up the picture so it's sharp rather than grainy.
Edit: A random thought I just had: why not add a dark red circle to the background? Then the non-black areas of the Imperial insignia would be dark red and the edges of the circle would be just beyond the tips of the TIE silhouettes and it would be something you could imagine wearing as a patch on a flight suit. Incorporating the dark red would also integrate the squadron colors, more or less.

I'm working on an edit of mine now...

What photo editor are you using? I mostly use MS Paint for the little things I do, since that was all I had for a very long time. I do have PhotoShop 6.0 now, but I don't know how to use it effectively.

Loving it.
Yeah, that looks pretty much like the same quality as the original image...and that's the best Tuk'ata image I've seen yet.
The only thing I can point out is that the bottom of the Tuk'ata head has some holes where the Imperial crest is poking through. If you can clean those up it'll be perfect.

I think I like it the current way better than I would with a larger Tuk'ata. Everything kind of points straight in at it in the current one, and we'd lose some of that if we made it bigger.

I think you're losing some of the Tuk'ata due to the Tuk'ata itself being grainy again, not the red. I think what Driver's seeing is that the Tuk'ata there hasn't been cleaned up like the last version. I notice those holes at the bottom of it are back.
I still like the smaller Tuk'ata version better...the size of the critter isn't that important, in my opinion. They're not so common in the canon that the average Star Wars fan -or even most of the experts- will see it and go "Oh, look. They must be Tuk'ata Squadron." I sure didn't know of them off the top of my head.

Between the two large-Tuk'ata versions here, I'd go for a cleaned up version of the first one. This one having a partially clear background just takes too much away. Plus it means the crest looks completely different depending on the background behind it. So I'd say keep the red background and black TIEs.
