Found some really cool icons. Thought they'd make some decent army specialty symbols. They're a little elementist, but I think they work for what we need at the present. Plus, with a little GIMP, any of these can be easily edited. The license is freeware; they're all custom vista icons. I think they would be best implemented into Avatars: many of the borders for our current ones include a filler object in the corner. If we use those, problem solved. I was actually thinking it would look cool underneath the avatar and user information, just as a little icon or sommat like that.
But that requires additional coding. =P

A little coding and they can be part of avatars without much work, just upload a general, proper size image (100x120px), choose your border, and bubble image, and presto! Code will make your avatar with said border and corner image. It's fairly basic code if I recall correctly. |

Perhaps make them bigger and add a little something so we can tell which level in the specs the person is.
EDIT: Or you can make them smaller and add one for each level; IE: I'm a level two HWS so I would have two pics of the HWS. Heavy Weapons Specialist

I like Rougeboys idea of making them smaller and then having them according to our skill level. Personally I think they would look good right underneath the profile pictures, you know, like how our ranks (ex: [VE-ARMY] Private First Class) are shown underneath.
Or we could put them up on our own in our signature line, but then you could just put up however many you feel like having. If they were added as a new system to the Comnet, then they could be controlled.
But either way, I like them. |
