As you all know the commanders did a Apirl Fools joke on us yesterday. I know some of you, including myself, did not think it was funny but offensive. I do not agree with their actions and how they handled it, making it seem more serious than it was. I believe that they disregarded the Code of Conduct, Rules 5 & 9, which they had created. This brings me to a point. Are they able to break their own rules? I think if the members of the Vast Empire have to obey them, then they especially have to, since they are supposed to represent the Vast Empire! Most of us, as I still do, love the Vast Empire, but we have to realize some of the commanders of this clan hearts have gone cold. This was a serious matter, and they played off of it. I don't agree with how they brushed it all off, thinking it was not a problem. I thought it wasn't a joke, and that’s why I have such a problem with it. Hopefully some will understand my point on this matter and speak out, because this is just not the commanders clan, this is yours also. If they can't respect the way people feel, then why have the members respect each other? This is supposed to be a fun and interactive clan, not a clan that humiliates its members. Many of you believe I am taking this too seriously, but what if they will take it a step further than they already have next time they pull something like this? Will you feel the same? I do not blame the members that thought it was funny, and I'm glad you have a greater tolerance level than I do, but you cannot zone out the hidden aspects of humiliation that this caused people. I know many of you don't agree with my statements today, that’s alright, I respect the people who have different view than mine, but look at how your commanders treat people, especially now! They will ban people that irritate them, but they will irritate their own officers. Then they use LucasArts as a way to plan this. Sacrificing LucasArts’ reputation, for their own pleasure! As for me, I have resigned from the Vast Empire, and hope I will still see you on the battlefield! Thank you for the lifetime experience and I will miss you all!

As I said in another post.. The people who got bend out of shape by this have done nothing for the VE. I took one look at the "letter from LEC" and knew it was a joke. I actually thought it was quite funny, but if you're too serious to take a joke, maybe you should follow Kalebb. "Bub-eye" (sorry, SNL is on.. I'm with Talon. IT WAS A BLOODY JOKE! GET OVER IT! IT WAS HYSTERICAL!. Furthermore, I also figured it had to be a bit fake. I mean... if LEC were going to come after ANYONE they'd come after the EH first because they're the biggest threat. Quo besides the fact that if they were going to come after us, we'd have to be charging money for this, which we don't as you all know. And finally the key point... copyright laws say that if you make note of the fact that all the images and other media you are using are registered trademarks of the company or copyrighted by the individual who created them. I asked my mother about this yesterday.... she said LEC can't force other clubs to shut down because they want to advance their gaming league, it's illegal.
Anyway, I'll admit I was fooled for awhile... but I realized it was AF Day and I knew it had to be a joke. Those of you who are quitting, fine, quit, less work for us. Those of you who are smart enough to have laughed or expressed their feelings about the joke, but are staying anyway, good, that shows you're educated and able to at least take a joke. And finally to those involved with the joke.... Fabulous job, you had us all fooled there for awhile. Just uhh.... don't do that again ok?

First off, z, we;re a CLUB, not a pethetic clan. Second, it WAS a very convincing letter, had me for a bit, but then I remembered it was April Fools. Which goes to my next point, it was a joke, and if you don't have the sence to know this, well, I feel sorry for you.

Hello Paan. This is part of my good-bye to the VE thing. Unlike ztribal 1 I tried to speak up (well, get revenge) and I got kicked out. I'm not exactly sure what happened (Well, I mean I didn't hear the exact sentencing...), but I know I'm not staying now. It's been fun, but I guess I've got to go.

I know, I know. I shouldn't have lost my temper and sicked skacy on you guys. I was mad at the HC and I inadvertently got everyone involved. I'm sorry about that. In my post above though I mean I wasn't exactly sure what my punishmennt was, or exactly which rules I broke. They're a little vague. But it doesn't matter now. |

You keep going on how you are only mad at the HC.
This is such BS. You did not attack the HC by inviting that nitwit to ruin a perfectly good time in the #VE channel.
You did not look out for the best interests of the club by sowing discord and mayhem in the channel.
I can respect ztribal's intent of being hurt by the prank. I don't agree with the response, but at least he seems sincere. You, however, are trying to mask some selfish desire to be a hatemonger.
As for crazy, I can whip out some orders and have the Dread Knights licking your bone marrow like a bloodsicle while you sleep peacefully with just one email. -----------------------

Ok. Well, when I first saw this, I thought it was for real, and so I deleted all of my graphics, webpages for the VE, the whole works. Now, that's the disappointing part, but the fact of the matter is it was a joke! Deleting all my stuff was no biggie. All I have to do is remake it, which I am doing now. So, for me, it's nothing to fuss over. -----------------------

Look, I may not be on the HC, but I do understand where they are coming from. Now, if I may, I would like to offer you all a few thoughts.
1. We are all part of a gaming club-This means we are supposed to have fun. It is not unreasonable to have a little bit of fun with an April Fool's joke. Some of you have no sense of humor, whatsoever. 
2. A point was made by Riel I believe: The people that were bothered the most, were the people that do absolutely nothing for the squad and/or are usually inactive.-This is true: The day of the joke, the channel was full of people outraged about the whole thing and trying to "save" the VE. The day after the channel was empty, and things were back to normal...except people who can't take the joke have quit.
3.In defense of the above arguement, people have said that their showing up that day, shows how much they care.-This I don't believe to be true. IF they did care about the VE, they would have made that day the start of new period of being active for them. Instead, they went back to not showing up on the channel.
4. The HC is not here to tick people off.  -Many of you disagree with me on this point. It is true though. Some of you go around quitting the VE and keep dragging this post on and on. IT WAS A JOKE! GET OVER IT!I also feel, that if the HC would like to close this topic, they have every right to do so. This topic is getting old, and the arguements are becoming pointless. I am not a HC member, as I said earlier, but I know that they have a tough time doing their jobs as it is. They are the backbone of the VE, and they do not need people whining like babies about "oh you guys are mean" or "You have no morals". Now I ask you:Could any of you handle their job better than they could? Or even the same? I seriously doubt that. I respect the HC for the way they are able to keep their cool with all the incessive whining  that you all do. It certainly doesn't make their job any easier. Plus, they have to deal with their regular duties on top of that. So, next time you criticize the HC, think about how it would be if you were in their computer seat, and had to deal with someone like you whining to them all they time. 
5. Thank you for hearing me out. I know that I fell for the joke, and did try to save the VE for a while before I caught on. BUT....I am one of the people that are active every day, and do things to help out the VE. I may complain sometimes....but I don't whine like some of you have. I also have a good reason to when I do complain. I also would like to apologize in advance if I have offended anyone with my post, but keep in mind that this doesn't apply to all of you. I am sure that you very well know who you are. I was only addressing particular members of the VE whose names I will not mention at this time. Thanks again, and may the dark side be with you!
