Alan was feeling at a loose end.  The Paladin squad was taking a break between missions and he knew that they wouldn't be called into action for some time.  Lucky was busy tying up the paperwork.  Taking a wander through Tadath, Alan came across a new building.  He glanced at the sign which read Roworth Hunters.  Shrugging, he entered and started to look around.

He started to read the wanted posters and the bounties associated with the people involved.  He was surprised as to how much the bounty was of some of them.  Surely this can't be that hard thought Alan as he lifted down the poster that said Wedge Torrus & Jen Organa.  Alan had faced off against lots of enemies in the past and he decided he would try his hand at it, how hard could it be.

Paying the fee, Alan took the poster of the two wanted criminals and read through it again.  The hardest part was going to find them.  Where do I start he pondered.  Then his eyes read over part of the poster again and he smiled.  He briskly walked to his freighter which was parked in the hangar bay and entered his ship.  He quickly found his R2 unit which although should have been working, seemed to be having some down time.

Alan didn't have time to reprimand the droid but immediately told him to start checking computer systems, especially banks for any unauthorised or hacking attempts.  He sat down in his chair and waited.  This is never going to happen thought Alan as he had been sitting there for hours without anything.  All of a sudden R2 started emitting a beeping noise.

The droid quickly told Alan that someone was trying to hack the system of a bank on Corellia.  Alan smiled as he was happy to be on his home turf.

"Block them" called out Alan.

R2 feverishly worked and it looked like he was almost doing battle.  His arm whirred as he tried to block the hack.  Finally his arm stopped and Alan looked at him inquisitively.  The droid soon told Alan that the hack had been stopped and that it bore the trademark of previous hacks made by these criminals.

"Let's go to Corellia" said Alan as he strapped himself into the pilots chair and requested clearance for departure.  With the hack blocked they will have no option apart from going there and breaking-in in person thought Alan as he started up the engines.  Corellia here we come.

Alan never knew that being a bounty hunter could be so dull.  He had arrived at Corellia several days ago and had managed to secure an apartment across from the bank.  As well as bringing his R2 unit, he had another droid with him which kept a constant watch on the bank.  Alan had told R2 to stay on the ship and monitor the banks computer system to see if any further hacks would take place.

Alan lay on his bed trying to get to sleep.  He was beginning to think that this whole thing had been a waste of time and money.  Who was I trying to kid, pretending I was some bounty hunter thought Alan.  Suddenly his droid spoke.

"There is unauthorised movement on the roof of the bank" stated the droid.

Alan leapt up, grabbing his binoculars.  He zoomed in and true enough he spotted two figures dressed in black.  It was late at night and Alan would probably have never spotted them himself.  He zoomed in closer and was able to make out their faces.

"I got you" he said quietly as he looked to see how they had gotten onto the roof.  He noticed a line linking the closest building to the bank and he moved into action.  Alan knew that there wasn't much time.  He ran out of his apartment and rushed across the street.  He managed to force his way into the building and rushed up the stairs to the roof.  I hope they return this way thought Alan as he waited patiently for the criminals to return.

It seemed to take a while and Alan started to question his decision to wait for them here when suddenly the line started to twitch.  Alan knew that someone was using the line to return.  Crouching down, Alan hid and waited for both of them to get off the line.  He heard both of them clamber off the line and land on the rooftop.  Alan grabbed both his blasters and whirled out from his hiding position and pointed his blasters at them.  This is too easy thought Alan.

"Stop right there, you have a bounty on both your heads and I intend to collect" said Alan.

Before he could even blink, Jen slashed her foot out and connected with both of Alan's hands.  He cried out as his blasters went flying to the ground.  Wedge hurled himself and Alan found himself being flung to the ground.  He hit the roof down hard.  Getting up, he tried to compose himself as the two advanced slowly on him.  He didn't like the odds and he didn't know what fighting style they were using, but he knew they were good.

He hurled a fist directly at Wedge's face.  Wedge dodged it and suddenly Jen's boot was in his face.  He found himself on the floor again.  He got up slowly, rubbing his jaw.  He was thankful it hadn't been broken although he wasn't sure how.

"Give it up bounty hunter" said Wedge.

Alan knew he couldn't face them off alone.  He pressed a button on the side of his belt and hoped he could hold them long enough.  He advanced more cautiously, keeping a wary gaze at Jen.  She launched a foot directly at his face.  He had been waiting for that.  He parried her foot away and slammed his fist into her face.  She fell down but suddenly a fist slammed into Alan's jaw and he realised that Wedge had put him down.  He got up slowly, his head swimming.  He looked over at Wedge and Jen and noticed that they had retrieved his blasters and were pointing them at Alan.

"Well bounty hunter, it's been fun but we really have to go" said Wedge.

Alan knew that the end was mere seconds away and now he was starting to regret his decision to try being a bounty hunter.  Suddenly an electric whirring sound became evident behind Wedge and Jen.  Alan smiled as he knew the reinforcement had arrived.

Wedge and Jen spun around and let loose several shots at the newcomer.  They were surprised to see a magnaguard standing before them twirling an electro staff.  The bolts were deflected easily and the guard slammed his staff into the skulls of both Wedge and Jen.  They dropped easily and Alan rushed over to them and was thankful to feel a pulse on them both.

"Let's get out of here" said Alan.

The magnaguard nodded and picked up both Wedge and Jen and slung them over its shoulder.  Alan had never been gladder to have purchased one from the store before and he was looking forward to getting back and collecting his bounty.

Back in his ship with the unconscious prisoners in his holding area, Alan set course for Tadath.  Maybe this bounty hunter business isn't too bad after all thought Alan.

Returning to Tadath, Alan marched a very tightly bound Wedge and Jen into the offices of Roworth Hunters Agency.  Walking out with the reward credits he smiled happily, then winced from the pain the pair had inflicted on him.
