Thats right, folks.. I've got my fat self off my fat bum, planted myself on my fat chair and typed a fat load of nonsense. But its a start
Right, heres a very quick summary of what has happened since you last heard anything:
1) I have decided to go straight back to stage 1 and plan what the thing will look like. I have decided on making it a simple newspaper design, with columns and headlines etc, and will look like an MS Word document on a website. However, if I can find some people willing to do it, it will all be coded.. but if I can't, you'll have to get the Word format I'm afraid
2) I am now on stage 2. Finding editors. I plan to split the newspaper into several sections, each of which will have an editor responsible for making that section (one section = one 30cm x 30cm page). They can choose their own reporters if they like, or do it themselves, but they MUST have their section made every 3-4 weeks. They will be paid.. some money. More on the wages later
The sections are as follows:
Front Page - Newspaper title (Probably "Vast Empire Today"), Main Story, couple of sub stories.
Home News - Fictional and real news about the goings on of the Vast Empire. Promotions, position changes etc. Also fiction such as earthquakes on the VEN home planet etc.
Galactic News - Fictional and real news going on in the Galaxy. This is where the War correspondance goes, following the events of the story, publishing casualty lists etc. Also far off battles between pirates or something
Sport - Following the events of the VE Battle Board and other competitions.
Business - Advice on the VE Stockmarket and Casino (when we get them), how to manage your money, news on wage increases etc.
Fashion - Whats hot and whats not from Imperial Center
That kind of stuff.. what blaster everyone is wearing these days, etc, etc..
Entertainment - Real life movies, especially SW, computer games, like JK2, etc etc.
Agony Aunt - Invite members to send in their dillemas, and make up some, cuz nobody will bother
Something like "I don't satisfy my girlfriend in bed. What should I do? From Brigadier-General Talon"
Horoscopes, hopes for the future, and other such crap - horoscopes, hopes for the futu.. you get the idea
Free voice - Invite members to write in whatever the heck they like about whoever the heck they like, anonymously, if they like. No swearing, no direct insults etc. A chance for anyone to critisize anyone else.. the whole point is FREE SPEECH! Nobody's details will be revealed, so I'll almost definetly be the editor for this one, unless I find someone really trustworthy
Each section will have an editor who is directly responsible for getting the stories and stuff for that section. The Chief Editor, yours truly, is responsible for putting it all together and making it look nice.
Each editor MUST have his info in by the deadline - even if it means staying up all night! I haven't decided how often the newspaper will plan to go out, but it will probably be once every 2, 3 or 4 weeks, depending how many people there are willing to help.
Each section must have at least 1 page of information. I am using 30cm x 30cm pages, with margins of 0.5cm on each side. I am using Aerial Black size 10 font for the main text. The Editors CAN supply pictures, maps, diagrams etc if they like.
The section can have a maximum of 3 pages, although it'll probably be chopped down anyway.. I'm a harsh critic
Some pages will have varying volumes of info, like Agony, Free Voice and Horoscopes, hopes for the future & other crap (really gotta think of a new name for that last one
) so I won't be mad if nobody sends anything in.. thats why god gave you a brain. Make it up!

If you want to be an editor, you have to be SERIOUS about it. You miss one deadline, I'll be a bit mad. You miss the second, I'll stop paying you. You miss the third.. buh bye! No buts.. you'll be out of there
How you run your section is up to you. I don't care if you employ half the VE to report for you, as long as I know about it, and you meet the deadline.. and the work has to be half good as well, I guess
I'll probably pay you as well.. I'm just not sure how much. If I can get some funds from the gracious and charitable VE High Council, it might be quite a bit.. but I'll pay you 40k a month each from my own pocket, if I have to
Oh, and you can edit more than one section.
So, who wants to do what?
