Was browsing another forum and noticed that on the sidebar where forum ranks, avatar, etc were there was a small image and the name of the country that the member was in. This inspired a concept called species flags. 
Here's what I got thus far for the currently official playable species: Barabel  Bothan  Falleen No Image Yet Gamorrean  Gungan  Human  Ithorain  Mon Calamari  Rodian  Sullustan  Togruta No Image Yet Trandoshan  Twi'lek  Whipid  Wookiee  Zabrak 
There are some other species which could easily become official VE player species: Duros  Bith  Klatooinian  Aqualish 
Barabel probably should be replaced with a better image that is actually a barabel (cough). I can probably get male and female versions of those races that are distinguishable (human and twi'lek for example). |

Personally, I'm a big fan of the idea. I think this is a good idea. Several times, I've read through a person's post, only to discover that they weren't a human, but really a wookie or something, and then the post makes sense!
Or it isn't overtly stated in the post, and I'm lulled into thinking that the other soldier is actually a human when they're just humanoid. Nice idea, the only thing I would worry about is making the posts ridiculously long, whether or not the actual post is long, but because of so much information in the side bar. (Though most of us aren't in 5 divisons...)
This con is meaningless next to the pro of what was said earlier, helping understand people's posts and making sure you're making their character correct when you are writing about them. |

Perhaps it might be more... compact if it was just a text label that indicated race and gender rather than incorporating another image? Eliminating the extra picture will also help keep load times low for people without broadband connections.
