SPOILER ALERT! This topic is for those who wish to express their opinions on the new Clone Wars Movie. It is may contain spoilers. To start out, the only thing that made the movie really "kid-ish" was the fact that the battle droids had way to much emotion. They were shown as stupid robots. For an example, one of the cheesiest lines in the movie that was from the battle droids, was as follows: Droid 1:Fire on sector 115-349-042 Droid 2:Sector 115...What was that number again? Come on. Droids can be stupid, but they dont have emotion.

-It only counts as a spoiler if it's actually worth Spoiling-
The whole "Droids become bad comedians" must of happened between Episode 2 and episode 3,
In episode 2 the droids have a few extra lines, but nothing that special, but in Episode 3 they become retarded...
Okay, yeah... it was a kids movie, but how does that explain the "comedic" (I use the term loosely) aspect of the droids in 3?.
))If the droids were actually funny, this wouldn't be a problem((
------
The movie isn't worth seeing if you have to pay for it, it's a just a really whored out kids movie with a 3d coating (To cut down on acting costs).
Nothing happens, The action scenes are boring and the dialog is lame
"Skyguy".... nuff said
The only decent parts are with the Clone troopers, if the entire movie was about Clone troopers and not the crappy kidnap story it would of been a much better movie.
Final thought - Stick to the games and Comics.... Give this one a miss until it gets pirated...

For the most part I agree w/Jager. Poorly written, even by Lucas standards. The dialogue is even worse than Ep. 1. i'd personally rather have sat thru an hour of JarJar. That being said, It's meant to be the kickoff of an animated TV series. Which is never top shelf...look at the Disney TV stuff.
It is however SW, and for that it gets somewhat of a nod. I do reccommend you see it on a big screen, but wait till it hits the Dollar Theatres, or on your Widescreen at home.

Really the way I see it, there is nothing wrong with adding a sense of humor to the droids. The only issue is that he added a personallity to a droid that has millions of identical mass-procuded comrades. There would be no personallity. Droids like C-3PO and R2-D2, they were specific characters, they had a personallity. In simpler terms, if in the credits their character name is "Droid 1" & "Droid 2" they should not have a personallity, while Characters such as "C-3PO" and other droid characters that are named should.

out of curiousity, did the droids having a "personnality" have any bearing on the plot?

That would be bad if a jedi used the force to clatter something on the other side of the droids and one of the droids decides to look where the jedi are hiding instead of where the clatter noise come from.

So I saw Clone Wars the day it came out as a planned event with some of my fellow Star Wars friends (one of which belongs to this site.) I must say that it was half what I expected, half not what I expected. Let's start with the expected.
I knew this was geared more toward kids- me and my 5 friends were in a theater full of little ones with only two other teens- but I also knew it would be entertaining. The animation was very easy on the eyes- except for when they showed a planet from outer space- and I had no complaints towards the CGI.
What I did not expect was the terrible lightsaber duels. Looking at what Hayden Christanson and Ewan McGreggor did in Episode III, I expected that animators could make these computer fights quite epic, but it just turned out to be an epic fail. The battles stayed stationary, with a complete lack of movement from any limbs aside from the arms. Also, when you are able to sign Sammy L. Jackson on to the film, I would imagine he would play a major role. But maybe they're saving his top-of-the-line voice performance for the upcoming show.
Overall, the plot was well fleshed out for a cartoon, and the war scenes were much more gripping than I could have ever imagined for this show. The music- straying from the typical SW score and entering into a melodic tone that really set the mood- was equally impressing. However, the less-than-adequate duels as well as the corny battle droid speech sort of dragged it down.
I give this film a 7/10, but a very high 7 since it was built for the younger generation yet managed to hit the bulls eye dead center for the older fans.

I think my opinion's well known from the VEToday article I did for it. I probably could have enjoyed it a lot more if the music was more like the Episodes. But sadly not

The music is about half what makes the star wars movies and the other half is everything else.

Indeed. i also did notice the change in music, although this was a little better than the predictable starwars theme music for the movies.
The clones were very intense and i was really impressed on how it showed them actually going up to the droids in some hand to hand combat action. I was also equally impressed with the epic side-of-the-cliff battle.

It broke up the plot with stupid, irrelevant jokes and slapstick humor. Sicario wrote:yet managed to hit the bulls eye dead center for the older fans.
Since the original 3, no starwars has even managed to hit the bullseye They've come close (2 and 3) but not close enough. Hassar wrote:little better than the predictable starwars theme music for the movies. Thats blasphemy, i was crushed when they didn't have the original starting music, I have fond memories of sitting in the theater watching the remastered edition of New hope and the other movie goer's singing the starting theme during the previews. I also forgot that they didn't have the awesome scrolling story prologue , just some lame news report type thing, I WANT ME DAMN SCROLLING LETTERS

I also did notice that they didnt play the scrolling yellow story line at the beginning. this made me pissed.
instead they had some sort of narrarator telling what is happening. it made me feel like i was watching some sort of television series, that was like,"In the previous episode..."
Although it wasnt all that bad. There were some pretty epic battles with the clone troopers. they were the only real hardcore action in the movie.

A letdown? The movie was intended for kids and succeeded in gaining it's key demographic. Not to mention keeping quite a few others interested long enough.
