That's right....we haven't been sitting around all this time! We've actually been working on a brand new type of competition for you. This is going to be new for all of us...so do not send us a whole bunch of complaints please until it's actually out. We want this to run smoothly so your Platoon Staff and myself are working very closely on this so that you will all be pleased with the concept.
This will be a story competition, there is ONLY plans for a story at this point...not a full-blown competition like HSC or the Galactic Games for example. Now...while I can't give you the plot because I don't want to ruin it for you: I can tell you that you will not be using your VE-Characters this time. You will be broken off into groups of two squads to a thread. One of you will be posting from the aspect of the VE NPC platoon where the other group will be posting from the aspect of NR troopers. This scenario allows for troopers to die and for us to do something called lose. Two things that cannot happen in a normal storyline.
Three threads will be posted when the competition begins. The story will more or less be the same and will revolve around everyone but it will take place on three threads as most squads don't like big storylines. The squad will be given a NPC squad that they are to write as. There may or may not be nine troopers as in your normal squad. The point is to have you focus on more than one person's point of view.
So for example if I have Iron Horse and Paladin doing a topic together. We will have a coin toss and the SLs will call it. Heads will be Imperials Tails will be NR. If Iron Horse wins they'll get their choice and Paladin will get the other. The story will start and they will write from their perspectives. One of the groups will emerge victorious.
If you are good sports about this it should be a very fun competition. We're looking forward to getting it out for you. In the meantime, we need your help. From EVERY trooper, ASL, and SL we need TWO NAMES of what you would call an NPC. Everyone else, it is optional for but we'd appreciate the extra names if you could send them along. We will use these names to make up your squads (yes, we are also submitting two ourselves). We need this ASAP but please send them along via Comnet PM to: Rogueboy, Aeos, Rizzit thanks! There will be more specific details coming as this competition gets closer to launch....stay tuned! Also, thanks in advance for the names.
