Nazgul, let's get our house in order. I know it's the holidays, but we still have a schedule for finishing our mission and we're failing miserably when it comes to meeting it. Viper managed to finish their job- we can too.

In order to get things moving, Will and I have talked and agreed to some new guidelines for this mission:

First, all Flight Members (excluding Hunter, as he's SC in the mission) are now under a word count cap: We want posts at around 1000 words max, though you can go as high as 1250. This is to speed up the pace of things with shorter posts, but more of them.

In keeping with that, we're running a competition until the end of the mission. We'll be judging everyone based on the number of posts they make (no double posting) and the quality of their writing within the word count limits. Going over the word count cap will hurt your score.

We're also going to start pushing posting on IRC. When we see that several squadron members are on at once, we will begin a push that will last a few hours. In that push we're looking to see communication between pilots as they write and post several times each over the course of just a few hours. During these pushes posts should be around 750-1000 words for the sake of keeping things moving. Participation in these pushes will earn you bonuses in the competition.

But what are you competing for? Stripes. Whoever we judge to be the best pilot in the competition will receive a promotion. Prizes will also be awarded to second and third place.

So, all of you who are itching to get ahead in the VE: Here's a shot at doing just that. All you've got to do is work together with each other and show the highest activity and posting quality. We've got an amazing group of pilots here, with lots of people putting up four digit word counts routinely. The challenge here is this: Put all the quality you write into those posts into these. Who can do it best and come out ahead?

I'll be more active from here on; hell week at work is over (thank whatever diety you worship).  I know I haven't been holding up my end of the bargain these past few weeks, but that should change.  Once again, apologies for this.

I like the idea of a coordinated assault, if you will, on the story by several people at once.  Should make for more (and better flowing) action in the story.

Well you all seem to be holding things together in my absence. I don't know when I'll be returning to active duty but you guys know that I am around here from time to time, so I'm sure you'll see me sometime soon. Maybe if there was a place for the old chief to go, you never know.

Not much is going on rocketman, retirement is boring as hell. I'm considering coming back to active duty right now, probably if I do it will be after the first of the year. But we'll have to see. I dunno if you all have any use for an old broken down veteran like me :P

There's a spot with your name in the Logistics department when you do come back

Considering we're the next best thing to frozen in time, you can't play the broken down old veteran card, Slash. Besides, it makes me feel old.

I'd like to wish everyone a happy New Year. Have fun, hang out with friends, and don't drive or pilot drunk (green stuff counts too, you know).

That said, once we've ushered the new year in with appropriate fanfare and alcohol, it'll be time to get things moving again. We're far behind schedule on Sarek and Viper shouldn't have to wait even longer for the Wing Mission to begin.

Yeah Slasher, welcome back btw, regarding Sarek... just let it slide. It was due to finish this week... but due to some... "unforeseen" circumstances called holidays, or my faith in my own stupidity (carried over from Kaph), it won't be done on time... but i still plan to finish in a couple of weeks... Assuming more than just Ruwe, Rocket, and I post on it... it's a squadron story last i checked.
