Yeah. Put Chewie and Palphatine in a room together for an hour and see who comes out the victor. Bet you it won't be the old guy.

Chewbacca born 200 BBY, died 25 ABY
Palpatine born 82 BBY, died 4 and 11 ABY

You're right, the old guy would lose. A walking carpet is insignificant compared to the power of the force.

There are just so many uber cool Star Wars characters that it would hard to pick one as a favorite.

On the light side I'll have to go with Obi Wan. He really wasn't that much of a hero in 4-6, but considering all the things he did in 1-3 he didn't have to be. He was intimately involved in the groundwork for all the chapters, and it took alot of character for him to walk away from a near dead Anakin when most anyone else would've finished him off.

On the dark side I'll have to go with a tie between Maul and Jango Fett. Maul was such a cool villian and I think they killed him off way too early. Count Dooku was alright, but compare the lightsaber battle at the end of episode 1 to the end of episode 2 and there really is no comparison. Maul was hands down the better saber fighter. Then we move to Fett. Had his jet pack not been damaged, he would've had a much better shot against Windu. He was the Sci Fi gunslinger with cool armor, and cool.

Torad, Palpatine would destroy Chewy in a matter of seconds. Force Lighting alone would fry the walking carpet, not to mention his lightsaber. Common sense my man.

Torad, stop. Chewy wouldn't get within twenty feet of Palpatine before his hairy ass got fried, then split in half. Don't be a Wookie fan boy, it's inevitable, Palp would destroy Chewy. Stop.

Well, Tulak Hord would kick Palpatines butt in Lightsaber Fighting, Marka Ragnos would kick Palpatines butt in everything else, and Chewie would get his walking carpet behind handed to him by Trandoshan Slavers.

Yea...that's right...I went there.

I'm going to say Exar Kun, just because he looks like the character I designed.

Yah, that's right! The fact that he happens to resemble my character makes him 100% Kick Ass.

does palpatine ever really bother with saber fighting, though? seems just superfluous given his proficiency with other force powers

In the entire span of Palpatine's history, he only willingly used his saber once, and that was to fend of the Jedi.

SW wiki, wookiepedia, can tell you all about Palpitine. He's one of the best swordsman, though he never really uses it much.

Willingly=After Training with Plageuis.

In the span of his career, he uses his power in the Force, not his saber, to gain power politically, only time he uses his saber, as said in Wookiepedia, is when the Jedi find out who he really is.

He had his saber put into a statue, with no way of actually getting to it, without breaking the statue.  And it was a heavy, thick, statue.

Still, better 47 than a Traviss-ty such as Jacen Solo or the uber-Mandalorians.

Jacen Solo sucked. They did a bad job writing him.

In terms of least favorite character, I'd go Alema Rar. I hate her "serve the balance" BS, and her terrible character in general.

Rar wasn't too bad comapred with the uber Mandalorians and their invincible fighters. That took down a SSD. Stupidity on this level hasn't been seen since the Bacta War book.

It's my character's religion. Religions other than the Force are prominent in SW, and I liked this one because of the "Why? Why no? Not everything is black and white" deal. Cool t'ings.
