The Last Man Standing competition is officially over, and we have a winner.  The final scores were as follows:

Nazgul - 352.5

Viper - 292.5

The competition was very close until the end, and I must say I'm surprised and excited at the activity from both squadrons.  Good work everyone. 

This means that Nazgul upgrades to TIE Interceptors.  So, get out of those flying deathtraps and into those speed demons!

Also a few new medals were created and awarded.  For the Vipers who participated in the competition they get the new Naval Efficiency Ribbon, which can be put in an id line as (NER).  The participating Vipers were as follows:

The top two pilots were awarded a new medal called The Eye of the Tiger.  There are two classes, one being simply Eye of the Tiger and the other being Eye of the Tiger: Emerald Claw.  It can be placed in the ID line as (EoT) and (EoT:EC) respectively.

Tomas receives the Eye of the Tiger for placing second in overall points.

Trevor recieves the Eye of the Tiger: Emerald Claw for placing first in overall points.

We also gave out some promotions today (as well as one I missed at the meeting, sorry about that).  Here is the list:

I know this is kind of an unspoken given, but for those who did not win the contest: it's easy to become disheartened and lose the energy to post.  While I credit Trevor Evenson and his remarkable group of members with the win, usually the most difficult part of a competition is pushing your squadron past a loss: so my respect for all of you who choose to grow and stay merry in your attempts: you've certainly fought valiantly.  To everyone- you've shown your courage, your worth, and most importantly- your potential.  To ensure that I haven't relegated the immense victory by Nazgul, however, I will point out that these medals you've received are one of a kind, and the fruits of your labor shall certainly become apparent in the new latitude granted to you by your improved equipment.  Again- you've all performed with superior conviction- enough to embarrass any one of us (glances around NHC), lol.  We'll be watching; rock on.
