Now, for what you all have been waiting for, whether you actually knew it or not...  THE LAST MAN STANDING!!!

The general premise is this:  We are going to put you all in Flight Simulators and put you in an impossible situation.  Then we're going to have you try your hardest to get yourself out of said situation.  I'll be posting one topic per squadron on the Naval Storyboard shortly after this post goes up.  We will be killing you off one by one based on activity within the squadron story as well as activity in the other stories your squadron has going on, and we will be tallying points per post.  The points will go as follows:

2 points for LMS posts
1.5 points for Squadron Run-on posts
1 point for personal/duo story posts

I, or one of my lovely assistants will be posting at least one update to the scores per day.  This competition will continue to run until the last elimination, and at that time we will tally all of the scores and announce the winner.  Along with your brand new fighters the winning squadron will get a few new things as well, and on top of all that, all those that post will receive a little something.

Now, I know the Navy has high turnover for squadrons, so this particular competition will only be open to people on the squadron roster as of RIGHT NOW.  New members that come in during the intervening time can still contribute via squadron and personal posts, but will not be permitted to write on the LMS stories.  You'll get your chance soon enough.

So this time, remember, you're not only competing against [Insert Rival Squadron Here], but also against [Insert Squadron Pilot Here].  We wish you all good luck and good hunting.

With regards to this competition, I think in future LSM's, it should be made clear the exact rules and settings of the competition.

As Darkhawk as already mentioned, some people have been treating this as a non-cannon real-time story, as opposed to a literal simulation exercise aboard the Atrus.

I'll admit, I thought the former was true to begin with, until DH made his comment, but I would like to suggest in future that finer points like this are made clearer.

On this topic maybe, but not the actual story topic. If some people accidentally come in late, they may have to go straight to the story topic  and miss this one out.

Noted, but in both story topics and this post I mentioned that it was a simulation.  I'll be sure to make it more clear next time.

All pilots, please be warned: the next person who treats this simulation as a real-world scenario, and I don't care who it is, will be "killed off" immediately.

Yes! That's exactly what I mean, Trevor.

Viper/Nazgul Squadron is inside of a SIMULATION. A training simulation. The only 'real' people in this scenario are the members of Viper/Nazgul Squadron. There are no other pilots in the other Vast Empire starfighters, onboard the Vast Empire cap ships, in the New Republic starfighters, onboard the New Republic cap ships, or ... or anywhere else!

Squadron commanders, if you seem to have a pilot who cannot grasp this concept, PLEASE force it into their heads, cause I've given up.

Edit: Trevor, I just read your last post, and I guess I'll let it slide cause you're writing it from the AI's perspective, but let's try to focus on the REAL people (or droids, in some cases) who are in Viper/Nazgul, okay? You're basically flying against a big computer simulation, not individual AI units or droids. Picture yourself as kind of playing a giant game of X-Wing VS TIE Fighter...

It's a close one, and it's going to go down to the wire.  Remember, even if you're killed off in the Last Man Standing story, you can still contribute on the squadron run-ons and via personal stories.  From now until 2pm Sunday, barring those that were announced, of course, there are no more "deaths".  We will let the final four play out until it's all over.  Congratulations on making it this far and you have all done a fabulous job.

Note:  I'm aware of people being upset about double and triple posting.  However, we did not make note of it in the rules, so as it stands, it is allowed.  That being said, it's something that will be addressed in further incarnations of this competition.  The rule against double posting has always been custom and never really written down anywhere.  This will be addressed in the future, however.  Thank you and good luck down the home stretch.
