From my idling in the main IRC channel, it has become obvious to me that a large number of people are choosing to ignore the CoC. It is getting to the point where, when I do come onto irc, I am innundated with messages about people who have done something wrong, offended people, etc. I am tired of having to reassure people that these breaches will be punished because THEY SHOULD NOT HAPPEN.
With my absence a lot has been let go that would never have been allowed before, and this is where it stops. I am aware that it is not only army troops, but this is YOUR wakeup call. My hard line on swearing and offensive insults/retorts has returned. You've brought this upon yourselves. Some respect and decency needs to be returned to #vast_empire, and it's why I got my ops in the first place.
If anyone has a problem with this, feel free to contact me. DO NOT go above my head or have your CO crawl to me for you.
Further to this, night shift has been taken away until you can learn to behave (so indefinitely).

I'm not around much and even *I* know that people are misbehaving in the main channel.
Look, night shift is a privilege given the North American contingent of the club. If you can't be civilized enough to handle this responsibly, it will remain shut down and CoCs will be enforced.
I don't like being the jerk here, but situations have made this happen.

I wouldn't classify it as angry more than frustrated.
The majority of members don't have a behavior problem. Indeed, most of the regular IRC activity is done is good form.
The issue are the few members who cannot control their urges to be insipid idiots. The even greater problem of that is some of those are in small unit command positions and should know better.
That, if anything, may bring out any anger you may see. Aside from that, it is trying to balance freedom of expression against having a place you can go to have fun that doesn't have the feel of an anarchist frat party. -----------------------

I think this was a generalization across the Army, though it most certainly applies to the entire VE as Heth noted.. Picking particular people out won't necessarily change the fact that other members turned their backs on the actions spoken of by your commanding officers and, in effect, endorsed it. The CoC applies to everyone. -----------------------

Over all the only thing we can do to cut down on the lack of following orders would just be to grow some common sence. If you see others doing what you know is wrong then remind them to check themself.
The VE is a privelage not a right and Id do a lot to keep this site right where it is. -----------------------

I'm not here to get anyone into trouble. But I just wanted to say. That when I'm on there are some things that are said by some people that are inapropriate and that some comments can be hurtful. I felt especially hurt by some mentioned last week....I also wanted to give a little praise to Liquid even though I'm not his peer and vice versa .But he's been trying to enforce the no channel flooding rule.
I hope I haven't offended anyone in any way. I just wanted to add that to support Merrick and Fury.
