The interdictor cruiser had now taken significant damage, and looked to be turning for a retreat.

"Fighters, bring those engines down, that cruiser isnt' going anywhere," said Captain Mikael Skyterov.

By now, there were but a few enemy fighters lingering around, but they hesitated to attack, a mistake that would cost them their lives.  Jaden had been running at full throttle, Hunter at his side.  Jaden had now lost count of how many enemy fighters he had thrown into the fiery pits of hell.  A small grin appeared on his face as they swooped up behind two more A-wings.

"Sir, I have missile lock," said Hunter, "Engaging"

Jaden just let the controls ease back in his hands as he watched his Executive Officer rip the right A-wing in half with his missiles.  Jaden went for the other, quickly adjusting the yoke to drop the fighter and keep up with the A-wing.  He had now set the cannons to single fire mode, letting off some light shots into the shields of the enemy A-wing.  A quick adjustment in pitch let the A-wing know Jaden was serious as he dummy fired a missile straight into the aft of the enemy A-wing.  The fighter barrel rolled right, attempting to dodge the cannon fire Jaden had unleashed, but it was no use.  The shields were now down and the starboard side of the fighter was being ripped to shreads.  The cockpit popped open, and the pilot escaped death, but the A-wing kept going and going.

"The pilot didn't realize that I was but using light shots to disable his fighter, and now look at it, its just drifting off in space," laughed Jaden

"Ah, it was a good one sir," said Hunter, "Looks like we've mopped up the rest of the A-wings.  Your orders?"

"Aegis Squadron, attack those engines on that Interdictor Cruiser.  Wolfe Squadron, attempt to lay down some bombs on their auto defense mainframe from the outside of the ship, we need to get those guns taken care of," commanded Jaden

"Thats affirmative Sir.  It looks like the shields are out anyways, we'll just make a run.  Looks like two X-wings are coming to the interdictors assistance though.

"All the ships are turning to hyper out!" said Captain Mikael Skysterov.  "We can't let them get away. I'm deploying Alpha, Beta, Gamma, and Delta Squadrons for the attack on the Nebulon B and the Dreadnaught.

Jaden watched as the fighters poured out of the Imperial Star Destroyer Debilitator.  They all formed up, the four squadrons looking so beautiful as they split off to take out the cruisers attempting to run.

"Aegis, get on those engines on the Sunbeam!" yelled the Captain.

"Alright, Aegis Flight two, take out the left engines, the rest of us will work on the right," commanded Jaden

"Sir yes sir," replied DJ, in monotone.

Jaden fired up the engines to full and lept forward very quickly, heading straight for the engines on the Inderdictor Cruiser.  He quickly switched over to missiles and took aim.  It wasn't much longer than that and the entire flight was directly behind the Interdictor, missiles firing and cannons blaring.  Jaden let off two missiles, targetting them specifically at the upper right engine.  They connecting, short circuiting the engine and shutting it down.  All of the other engines were now shut down, and the Interdictor cruiser would be going nowhere.

"This is Imperial Star Destroyer Debilitator.  Stand down and prepare to be boarded," said Captain Mikael Skysterov.

The com system crackled as a voice came back.  The voice wasn't in Basic, so Jaden couldn't make out what the aparent commander of the ship was saying.

"Translation boys, he's not standing down," said Mikael, "Debilitator moving in for attack on the Interdictor"

Jaden watched as the battle pressed on.  The Two Nebulon B's had taken eachother nearly down.  The enemy Nebulon B had lost stabalizers, and was slowly turning upside down, and the allied one wasn't doing so good itself, with only 25% sheilds and 20% systems.  The Imperial Star Destroyer Debilitator had now moved into position, turbo lasers firing directly at the command bridge of the interdictor.

Within minutes, the command bridge was no more, and there was no one to command the ship.

The ion cannons shot out from the Debilitator, quickly disabling the enemy Dreadnaught.

"Cruisers, stand down and prepare to be boarded."

(OOC: Sorry. Not quite the same length or relevance as usual. Will do better with the next post on the next story.)

After having watch the Interdictor Sunbeam become a disabled mess, Scrace waiting for the A-wings to come and play. He had known that they would try and hide, sit in the wreckage that was floating far and wide. Would do them no good in the end. Landala and Zurth had become a well working team. A machine thats cogs were finely oiled. Sure, LCRW Crin'Doloi wanted his wingman's death...but that didn't stop their ability to work together, and take out rebel scum. Their opportunity had begun to pass. A small reflection in the distance, almost a glint of a star flickering out, and Zurth knew what was on hand. It was time for another dog fight.

"Aegis six, you move in for the distraction, and I will take the kill. You always want the stealth mission. This time its mine." An uncomfortable sneer had found its way on Zurth's lips. He looked out his rear view, and saw Feris still holding tight on his tail. "Aegis six, move out."

"Aegis seven, you go in as the bait, and I will take that rebel out."

"I think not. This time we are going to switch the plan around." Irritation was beginning to peak, and had it at that moment, Zurth would have pulled behind Landala, and shot a round or two of cannons into his shields. "Now break off, and distract that rebel."

"Breaking away." Landala pulled his Interceptor away from the mini formation that him and Zurth had created, switching the lead craft every five standard minutes.

Zurth knew that something was up. It had been the tone in Feris' voice had given it all away. He was going to move in as quickly and quietly as possible for the kill. Scrace had to make that not possible, and did his best to achieve the task at hand. He pushed his TIE forward, peaking his speed as he had made short jaunts from one debris cloud to another. All having been an attempt not to alert the limping A-wing as it slowly pulled away. This hadnt been a needed kill. The rebel craft would have lost the rest of its life support systems before the A-wing could have even made it to any point it could have safely landed. Zurth knew this. Landala had to of as well. This was a game between the two. This had become a contest. Which of the two recent graduates could hit the mark first.

It had become time to  move in for the kill. Zurth had been noticed, and but the A-wing had been making the exact opposite maneuvers that Scrace had expected. It was as if another fighter was coming against the rebel before he had the chance. The LCRW hadn't picked up another TIE on his sensors.... He had to have overlooked something. Landala was about. Zurth could tell from the burst fire from cannons that began to dance around the A-wing.

His TIE Interceptor had been kept at a distance. Scrace had watched and waited while Landala played with the rebel. More so looking for the opening to fly over and take the rebel out with a missile. One shot one kill. That was the motto of the grunts, wasn't it?

Scrace Crin'Doloi pulled away from the debris cloud and pushed to full throttle. He had to roll to the left to stay on track, and it had seemed almost as if the rebel had given up as Zurth's target lock painted the A-wing. Landala was able to get the shields depleted as LCRW Scrace's missile shattered the hull, and sent the shrapnel of components into a cloud with the concussion. Both barreled 180 degrees to their left, and nearly scraped against each other as they passed.

Both TIE's met up, and fell into an off suit formation as they headed back towards the hangar. They knew their task was done, and where they had been cruising through had been cleared. Back to the ISD and to the cold distastes of the Imperial Navy's bunks.

"Aegis six. Thought you could get it didn't you?" A smile had curled deviously on his lips as he spoke into the comlink. Spoke with a tainted voice. One that spoke of the arrogant disdain. "I told you it was mine."

Laughter. A laugh had come through the com. "Aegis seven. I told you before. It isn't about who gets what kill. We have to work together."

That laugh. It burned inside of Scrace. It ate at his heart, and steamed in his veins. If he didn't want blood before, he definitely did now. This was almost the finishing touch to Zurth getting disbanded from the VEN, and executed as well.

The glowing shield of the hangar came in sight. Zurth would have to cool his temper, or he wouldn't make it to his bunk.

Jaden felt the tractor beam attack to his fighter as he let go of the controls.  Within a few minutes, he was back in the hanger, safe and sound.

Cheated death just one more time....

All of the pilots hopped out of their fighters, cheers coming up from every direction.  The families of the pilots and crews that had been rescued were huggin the pilots all around.  Bottles of brandy were being passed around, and the celebration had began.

"Ah, Hunter, doesn't it feel good?" said Jaden, "Its a feeling I can never forget"

"Yes it does Jade," said Hunter, "It sure does"

The celebration continued in the hanger till the late hours, or early hours, whichever way you looked at it.  All of the enemy cruisers had been boarded and captured.  Jaden couldn't help to think about the paperwork being piled on his desk.  A small grin appeared on his as one of the new pilots, now a full member of the squadron, walked up.  It was Zurth Scrace.

Jaden threw an arm around the new recruit with a smile on his face.

"Well, Scrace, how about a drink?" he said, passing the bottle to the pilot.  A few swigs later, they were both into a deep discussion about the numerous dogfights and the tactics they had used to make it out of the mission alive.

"Your a keeper," said Jaden, "You'll be recieveing a promotion and a medal for sure son"

"Well thanks Sir," said Jaden

"Now don't get all formal on me Scrace," said Jaden, "You need to be more laid back, no so uptight.  After tonight, I promise you'll be loosened up."

They both stood their, leaned up against one of the many tables in the hanger.  The atmosphere in the hanger felt great, celebration all around, but Jaden couldn't fight the fact that he still thursted for more blood.  He knew that the next week would be filled of simulation runs, fighting for perfection.
