They found the elusive X-wing that dared to go it alone.  It didn't stand much chance against the 3 of them.  It manuevered frantically as the three tried to destroy it.  I kinda knew what they were doing before they did it it seemed. It took them a while but they said nothing as they destroyed it.

Almost losing that battle with the few arrogant X-wings, Xynen got serious about what he was doing.  Best to overestimate your enemy but never underestimate your enemy. Xynen had recalled this statement from previous engagements with rival gangs on his home world.

They returned to the battle, which didn't take long.  So much for formation, Xynen thought as he saw 3 X-wings closing in behind and blasting away at them.  Jack gave an imperial code of a certain flight engagement to Aldur and Xynen.  The Nazguls simultaneously split up when the X-wings were in range- flight member 8 went to the right, flight member 6 to the left and flight leader 5 shooting up, forming a spectacular clover pattern.  Xynen shifted around to fire at the one following Jack, Aldur spun around blasting the one on Xynen as Jack dived and hammered away at the one tailing Aldur.

They whooped and cheered as the X-wings blasted apart.  They had taken minimal damage on their fighters and were still getting over what they just accomplished.  "Good work you guys," Nazgul Flight 5 spoke to his subordinates.

The MC-40 Starcruiser's shields had been taken out, and Aegis was forming back up again.  There were still a few A-wings spread amoungst the area, but they were kept under raps by the pilots of Nazgul flight three and Kaph flight 2.

"Alright Aegis, this last run should take that Mon Cal to the ground.  Unload as many of your missiles as possible, then reroute back to the Coruscant for a missle reload.  I'm sure that we are all going to need it," said Jaden. "Because that Neb-B frigate is our next target"

The view port of the Imperial Gunboat lit up with the flashes of the last missiles in the reserves.  They quickly picked up speed and shot out for the MC-40 starcruiser.  Within minutes, the hull started to collapse, and the escape pods started to eject.  One more baddy down.

"Aegis 1 to Aegis 5, affirmative on that missile reload." said Chip.

"Aegis 5 to Nazgul 9, requesting an escort of your flight back to the Coruscant for a missile reload," said Jaden.

"Affirmative on that escort Aegis 5, we will  be with you in a minute," said Jen

"Nazgul flight 3 is covering us on our route back to the Coruscant," said Jaden, "Should we call Kaph in also?"

"Yes, call them in.  We need to make sure that we get to our reload and back quickly, and the fighter escort will help as we will have the protection we will need and won't have to worry about watching our backs," said Chip

"Aegis 5 to Kaph 5, requesting the assistance of your flight for an escort back to the Coruscant along with Nazgul Flight 3," said Jaden

"Thats a green on the escort Aegis 5," said the Kaph flight 2 leader

"Alright Aegis, form up and follow Chip and my lead," said Jaden, "We will have Nazgul Flight 3 and Kaph Flight 2 covering us on the way back to the Coruscant," said Jaden.

A load of affirmatives came back from the pilots of Aegis Squadron.  Soon enough, Nazgul and Kaph flights came to the escort of Aegis, and lead them back to the Coruscant without any difficulties.

After the reloading process was done, the Gunboats were back out, and they prepared for their next run.

"I'm seeing two flights of A-wings circling around the Neb-B.  Kaph, engage.  Nazgul, escort." said Chip

"Affirmative," said the Flight 2 leader of Kaph

"Affirmative," said Jen

"Alright, Aegis, form up, get a lock, and unload on that Neb-B.  If they start shooting the missiles down, keep unloading.  We need to get that frigate down," said Chip

Sticking close to Scout's tail, she had to hang on tight to her controls as the interceptor's swooped around in pursuit of the equally fast and agile A-wings.  Her job was to cover Scout, and that's what she did, swooping back in a tight upward barrel roll to get behind the pursuing A-wings and vape them.

One of the X-wings swooped by, and she turned to engage when Scout came over the comm, telling her to get back in formation.  The turn, however brief, was enough to make her get lost in the turmoil of battle.  She flew quickly, dodging other A-wings and even vaping one or two.  Hard to tell with so many lasers and turbolasers flying around.

Finally she found Scout, still pursuing the A-wings harassing Aegis.  Slipping in behind and beside him, swinging under a sheered off S-foil.  She was careful to watch her rear scopes, and almost didn't see the spinning A-wing damaged from Jen's earlier attack, quickly hitting her rudder to steer clear.

Once back in formation with Kaph 9, she checked her scopes, and saw an A-wing had slipped onto Scout's tail, and pulled back, looping around a piece of debris to make a quick pass at the A-wing's flank.  The shots were deflected by the shields, but it worked to get the pilot's attention.  She saw the twin Novaldex J-77 Event Horizon engines glow, then zoom the fighter off to come back aroaund, this time shooting at her.

She junked to the left, then snap-rolled to the right, just barely avoiding the twin rows of deadly darts that, while shielded, would quickly have ment her demise.  The A-wing followed her, settling in on her tail, and fired.  She went into a steep climb, then snap-rolled left to try and come around to get off a shot, but the ship was too fast, and instead looped around after her again, firing once she was infront of him.

She grabbed the throttle and dialed it back to zero, then punched it to full, throwing off the A-wing's aim.  Then she barrel rolled and shot under one of the slower moving Aegis gunboats.  The A-wing, deciding to make a run against the gunboat, didn't pay attention as she came around from behind the gunboat to open fire, and turn his fast little ship into slag.

Forcing herself to take deep breaths to calm herself down, she settled back onto Kaph 9's tail, hoping no one saw the way her ship trembled because her hands were shaking on the controls.

"This is Captain Falensarano," came a voice over the com system.  "The Corellian Corvettes Sting, Blitz and Hammer are under heavy attack by a large squadron of Y-wings that just launched from the Neb-B Frigate.  Anyone who can break off from their fighter group and try to take the Y-wings and their proton torpedo loads down, please assist, as this is the final part of our first phase of the attack.  All gunboat squadrons keep on your course for the Neb-B.  We don't want them launching any more Y-wings."

Just then, another important voice came over the com system.  It was Japheth.

"Nazgul Flights 1 and 2, dispatch yourselves to those Y-wings immediately.  Kaph Flights 1 and 3, follow.  The rest of the flights, take care of those A-wings that are left, and protect those gunboats.  We have just dispatched a team to capture the transports, and we need those Corvettes for the next phase of the assault if we get the needed information."

"That is all, go to work pilots," said Japheth, then the com system went silent.

"Alright, Kaph flight 2, Nazgul flight 3, new orders.  Intercept the oncoming A-wings and make sure they don't get to us.  We can hold our own, but not against that many A-wings ahead of us," said Jaden, "Engage at your own discretion"

"Thats a big 10-4," said Jaden, "All gunboat pilots, get a long on the Neb-B and unload your missiles."

With that, Jaden's targetting redicule started beeping faster, and withing seconds, he had a perfect lock on the frigate.  He pulled the trigger, unloaded dozens of missiles.  It was an amazing site as the rest of the pilots unloaded their missiles and they screamed towards the Nebulon Frigate.  Once the missiles hit their target, the shields were obliterated, and taken down to a meer 25%.

"Keep unloadin--," Jaden was cut off, "Aegis break formation!" yelled Jaden, "The A-wings are all over us, Kaph, Nazgul, some help here?"

"There caught us off guard," said Jen, "We are trying our best, but we are outnumbered by 5."

"Well shit, lets call in Sting then," said Jaden

Jaden switched over the com link back to the Coruscant.

"This is Jaden Khaar of the Vast Empire Navy's 3rd Squadron, Aegis.  I am requesting the dispatch of Sting squadron for the assist on the attack on the Neb-B frigate," said Jaden

"They are already at the controls, dispatching now," said the female voice.

Jaden switched over to the all squadron channel.

"Sting, we are about 6 klicks from your position, and are under heavy attack by a large group of A-wings.  We still have to make almost 2 runs on the frigate before she goes down.  The rest of the fighters besides our escort are engaging the Y-wings who are attempting to take our our assualt corvettes.  We are greatly outnumbered, and your assistance would be helpful.

"On our way," said Sk8.

Hearing the orders on the comm, she quickly followed Scout around to take on the Y-wings.  Unlike their fast A-wings, Y-wings were slower, but had more shields and firepower.  The thin darts of crimson light and the blue streaks of ionic energy raced towards the nimble starfighters and gunboats, who in turn fired with their brillient green lasers.

Following Scout through a complicated spin, they came out on the Y-wings' flank.  Scout went high, and Linda went low, firing the whole way.  She watched as her weapon energy levels quickly dropped as she poured more and more energy against the seemingly invincible shields, before finally they fell, and struck a path of black carbon scoring and other explosions from the R5 droid nestled in it's socket to the starboard engine nacell.

The Y-wing tried to turn, but Linda stayed on it's tail, and did a dangerous tactic of pumping the reactor.  Sometimes it would overload the engine and cause all systems to automatically reset, but fortunately it didn't and gave her just enough energy to sheer the starboard nacell off, sending the Y-wing into a spin that carried it off to collide with an A-wing.

Having paid so much attention to the Y-wing she'd been firing at, she didn't notice the A-wing that had settled on her tail, and had to throw her throttle forward just as the first crimson lasers splashed against her rear shield.  She looked at her scope desperately, dodging around destroyed starfighters and ones still alive, frantically trying to find some assistance.

Suddenly the Missile Lock warning went off, and then she saw a flash as the concussion missile launched from the underbelly of the A-wing.  She dodged frantically around, hoping to throw the missile off, while the A-wing also still came at her, firing at her but careful to not shoot at the missile.  She saw the range meter scroll down, and in a desperate move she snap-rolled to starboard, just barely missing a direct impact.

Unfortunately, the missile was armed for proximity detonation, and so her rear shields took a sizable portion of the energy expelled.  Her rear shield alarm went off, and she still had the A-wing to contend with!  Looping around a piece of debris, she dialed the throttle back and shortened the loop to try and get behind the A-wing.  But it slipped by, and she still had him on her tail.  Then a set of green lasers pounded the A-wing and drew him off.  "Thanks whoever just saved my ass out there"  and headed back to find Scout, letting her shields recharge on the way.

Demonic suddenly felt his fighter shake Violently, quickly spinning his ship around defensively to avoid the fire from the fighter behind him.
"Y-wings, huh..." he said, suddenly turning and rolled so that he was facing the enemy fighter, sending a deadly spray of fire back at it. Pulling up slightly then angling his fighter, he sent shots all along the top of the fighter. The gratifying explosion of the ship told him that his enemy was dealt with.

Demonic suddenly spotted the pair of A-wings. One of them sent a missile at him, the Missile lock warning suddenly going off. "You bastards want to play, huh?" He sped towards his enemies, avoiding the missile carefully. As he approached them, he swung his ship around. "Common... Yes!" he called out as the missile tailing him pounded into one of the A-Wings, taking both out in the blast.
"Dammit! he called out as his shields took some of the explosion. Swinging his ship around, he sped down to rejoin the formation.

On his way back, he noticed another Y-wing making a run at Aegis. He opened fire, hoping to break the ship's shields before hit reached the ships. The fighter turned to meet him, sending a hail of energy at him. The fighter rumbled as its shields started to fail. As he attempted to evade the shots, one of them grazed his ship, damaging it's hull. He swore to himself as he managed to get past he Fighter, turning around to open fire at its backside.
"Bastard..." He said to himself as he destroyed the enemy fighter.

He re-joined the formation, readying himself to fight any more who attempted an attack.

Nazgul Squadron Flight Two had just received their new orders. They were to aid in taking down the Y-wing starfighters/bombers attempting to destroy the capital ships by bombarding them. As the three Nazgul Flight Two pilots, Jack Nebulax, Aldur Wyndaru, and Xynen, attempted to break up the Y-wing formation, an Y-wing was able to lock on to Jack's fighter.

"Sithspit!" Jack cursed into his comlink as the Y-wing's ion cannons shot bursts of ion charges straight at the Vast Empire TIE interceptor Jack was flying. "These Rebel pilots don't know when to give up!"

"I've got you covered, Jack," Aldur Wyndaru said into his comlink, blasting away at the much-slower but more heavily-armed enemy starfighter. Aldur was able to successfully destroy the fighter's onboard astromech unit with a few quick blasts. Despite not being much damage, the Y-wing peeled off on its attack on Jack's interceptor and headed out to help the other Y-wings.

"Thanks, Aldur, for the help," Jack said into the comm, as he accessed his mechanical arm's hologram image of his new wife, Alexia Far'shadow-Nebulax.

Just then, another Y-wing popped into Jack's radar screen. It was headed for a Vast Empire cruiser. "Nazgul Flight Two," Jack said, "get ready to lock onto that Y-wing. He's headed for a cruiser."

"Locked on and prepared to engage," Xynen said, since he was the one closest to the enemy Y-wing starfighter/bomber.

"Shoot him down!" Jack said with joy as the trio of TIE interceptors fired shot after shot at the Y-wing, quickly disabling its shields as the starfighter tried to make a run for safety. "Oh no you don't!" Jack yelled as his fighter made a turn and locked on once more to the fighter. He let out a round of shots as the Y-wing became a cloud of metal, dust, and gases. "Gotcha!"

"Good job, Jack," Aldur said. "Now let's get those others." And with that, Nazgul Flight Two started its way back to the heart of the battle between VE fighters and Rebel starfighter.

Hunter had been going through the fight through instinct and response by dodging any fire that came at him while pummeling the targets that Chip and Jaden provided. After the last run on the Nebulon-B, he had swung away as soon as the A-wing fire had started to arc in from above.  Adar and Carnanum had followed as closely as they could with Hunter as he brought his gunboat around as fast as the large fighter could. Pushing the ship to its limits, he pulled back on the control stick and arced back around in a tight loop. The A-wings shot by in front of his view as he saw the Neb-B inverted in front of him. His flight members had stayed with him.

Opening his comspeaker to his flights channel, he said, "We're open for a shot. Unload another salvo then break and form back at these coordinates." Hunter sent them the area and launched a wave of missiles at the looming ship. As soon as the missiles were rushing away, he pulled to port as he dodged A-wing fire and a shot from a turbolaser. Amazingly, the Neb-B's shot vaporized the chasing A-wing. Is that thing going to start firing into this dogfight, just to get rid of us?

Hunter didn't have time to debate with himself as another A-wing replaced the original. The next couple of minutes were spent dodging and weaving as the battle continued. Then, Hunter's flight had reached his designated coordinates, which had chosen for a reason. Sting flew through the space right before Hunter's flight arrived.

"Nice going, whatever pilot you are." A voice came through the comunit. "Follow us into the Nebulon while we cut through these A-wings." Hunter nodded as he let Sting worry about the A-wings and Y-wings. Hunter fired at a few fighters as they tried to attack other Aegis members, but continued on the path Sting provided. As they neared the Nebulon-B again, Hunter saw that the rest of Aegis had joined up with his flight.

Chip's voice came through, "Prepare to fire everything you have. Let's take this thing down." A few moments passed then Hunter's comspeaker rang, "Fire!" Another wave of bright missiles streaked toward the large ship, followed closely by a second. Hunter checked his data screen as Aegis pulled off and began to swing back around. The Nebulon-B's shields were down and its hull had been reduced to thirty-five percent. Looking around, Hunter saw that Sting had taken out a large amount of A-wings and Nazgul and Kaph were fairing well against the Y-wings.

"Aegis," Chip voice said in Hunter's ear, "Come back around so we can finish this ship and move onto the next."

"Aegis pilots, unload your missiles strait into that frigate, we need to take it down," said Chip, "The Y-wings and the A-wings are about finished, so we almost have a clean run here with our escort.

Jaden took the controls and waited for the targeting redicule to lock.  Missiles were spat out from the gunboat heading strait for the frigate with nothing to stop them.  Within minutes, the assault crusiers from the rebel convoy would be gone, and they were left wide open for the next phase of the attack.

Once the missiles made their connection with the frigate, the shields were crushed.  The hull of the frigate fell twice as fast as the shilelds with all of the missiles penetrating its alloy exterior.  The ship stood still for one moment, in silence.  But then the silence was broke, by a giant shockwave.

Most of the fighters in the area were damaged, but the gunboats remained to stay in tact.  One of the flight groups of sting squadron had taken heavy damage, and they were to report strait back to the Coruscant for repairs and reboarding in other ships.

All to do now was to wait for the new orders, or something else to happen in the devestated battefield that he Vast Empire Navy had just taken.

(Okay, let's get this story on the road again...)

Senior Chief Petty Officer Jack Nebulax, in his TIE Interceptor fighter, glanced down at his radar. "Nazgul Flight Two, the Y-wings are about finished. Let's mop up what's left of them and get ready for the next phase."

"Copy that, Jack," Xynen said from his TIE Interceptor cockpit.

"Roger," Aldur Wyndaru replied, also from his interceptor cockpit.

Suddenly, a Y-wing popped into Jack's sight. "Oh no you don't..." Jack said, releasing bolt after bolt toward the enemy Y-wing starfighter/bomber. The Rebel crafts were just about finished, and the capital ships were taking a good amount of damage. But this Y-wing wouldn't quit.

"Sithspit!!" Jack yelled into his comm as an ion bolt from the Y-wing hit his starboard solar pannel. The bolt shreaded a piece of the pannel off, and now, since it was free, headed straight out into the never-ending black void known as space.

"Jack, you need some cover?" Xynen said into his comlink. He didn't wait for a response. "I'm on to it."

Suddenly, an explosion filled Jack's rear sensor display. "He's not dead," Jack reported, "but he's limping, having lost one engine. Good job, Xynen."

"Thanks, Jack" was the reply.

"Aldur, you okay?" Jack asked. "It seems like you got a little cooked when that engine blew."

"Just a little fried, nothing much, however," Aldur Wyndaru replied, checking over some systems in his craft.

"Okay, Flight Two, let's move. We've got a battle to finish," Jack said into his comlink as the TIE Interceptor trio headed back into the main part of the battle.

"Just a little closer.....more...more.....alright, open fire at that transport!" commanded the captain of the boarding crew on the transport Rippo.  The transport was on the most important mission of their time, to disable and caputure one of the rebel transports and get the information they would need for the next phase of the attack.

"Alright, when the shields are down, give em a few shots of the ions, and we should be ready to go in." said the commander.

"Troopers," said the commander looking at all of them, "Get in there, get he information, and get out"

"Sir, yes sir!" grunted all of the troopers.  Most of them were rookies in the army, and they were all most likey scared and nervous, but they were there to give their all for the empire.

"Alright, we got the ship disabled.  30 seconds!" yelled the commander, slipping on his helmet and loading his E-11 blaster rifle up.  The rest of the recruits stood up and got close to the boarding hatch.  Withing a few seconds they heard the hiss of the ship attaching, and there was a large lunge of the two ships fusing together in the cargo hold.

"Wait!," screamed the pilot, "They-" and the pilot was cut off.  Everything happened so fast that so many people were confused, including some of the pilots still cleaning up the rest of the fighters.  All of the missiles took a direct hit into the newly aquired transport, destroying both the transports.

The battle had now taken a major shift.  Though it was now in the empires favor, it wasn't what they had hoped for.

Most of the fighters had now been destroyed, and within a few minutes, the rest would be gone, or would have escaped.  But another twist was now added into the whole mixed up mess.

The rest of the cargo and transports were starting to explode, or if you would, implode.  They were all randomly exploding from the inside.

"This is captain Falensarano, it looks like the rest of the transports are self-destructing, hoping to throw us off and not give us the location of their base.  We are going to retrieve the information from the debris, and hopefully get going from there.  Until then, everyone else back to the Corsucant."

Darius was playing with the enemy Y-wing.  There was no way the NR craft could out maneuver an Imperial TIE Interceptor.  Darius thought it was a waste of lives, sending out the Y-wings.

He had disables the ship's engine in a couple bursts, and was now zooming in close and pulling away.  The TIE's scanners showed that the pilot was panicking now.  Darius could see a small figure inside, banging and the tranparisteel, and trying to unlock his flight harness.

Darius decided that the poor stranger had suffered enough.  He swooped down from above and placed and few well aimed bolts into the cockpit.

Immediatly, the his cockpit was filled with confusing bauble, and space was lit up by massive explosions.  The NR cruisers had self-destructed, taking one of the Imperial transports with it.

Next was Falensarano's voice, "this is Captain Falensarano, it looks like the rest of the transports are self-destructing, hoping to throw us off and not give us the location of their base.  We are going to retrieve the information from the debris, and hopefully get going from there.  Until then, everyone else back to the Coruscant."

"Sir, what about patrols?" questioned Darius immediatly.  "Are we to suspect any more resistance, considering that fact that some of the fighters escaped."

"Ok, here's what's going to happen," came the Captain's voice.  "Nazgul and Kaph, anybody needing repairs or replacement craft, do so now.  You will be patrols until the information is retrieved by our salvage crews.  Resistance from nearby systems could be likely.  We need to get the information, and get out of the system.  Aegis, you will come back to the Coruscant, reload and repair.  Falensarano out."

After Captain Falensarano had gotten done with the short briefing of what to do next, Senior Chief Petty Officer Jack Nebulax and the rest of Flight Two, made up of Aldur Wyndaru and Xynen, headed out to patrol the wreckage of destroyed A-wings, X-wings, and Y-wings, along with the self-destructed mass of New Republic cruisers. They had been told that resistant from nearby systems could be possible, and so Jack had his eyes on his radar, searching the entire area to make sure that there wasn't any fighters within rage yet.

Suddenly, as Jack was looking toward the wreckage of an A-wing, what Jack had thought to be a bunch of debris had turned out to be a Y-wing, still intact and mainly operational. It's engines came to life as the craft moved toward Flight Two at as fast as those engines could take it.

Luckily, Flight Two was alerted before the blaster bolts from the enemy fighter could start flying toward them. Trevor Evenson, the newest member of the Second Vast Imperial Fighter Group, Nazgul Squadron, alerted them by saying, "Flight Two, watch out! New Republic Y-wing headed out from the debris on your starboard side!"

Quickly, the three TIE Interceptors of Nazgul Flight Two shot toward their target. Within minutes, and many blaster bolts later, the very same Y-wing that had aimmed for them was now a large piece of debris, missing an engine, its astromech unit blown to bits, and it's cockpit area smashed. Floating not that far away was the brave, yet idiotic, pilot who had dared to challenged the Vast Empire once more.

"Thanks for the warning, Trevor," Jack said into his comlink to the member of Nazgul Squadron Flight One. "Remind me to buy you a drink once we're through with this mission."

Xynen's voice chimmed in. "I'd hope you'd say that, Jack, before I did." The three members of Flight Two and Trevor laughed for a short while before returning to their patrol duties.

A gunboat silently drifted in the hanger and slowly touched down as if the pilot didn't have the hang of flying a ship. It's once shining surface was now covered in scorch marks and dents. The hatch to the cockpit silently opened, blue hair immediately flashed in the sharp lights that glowed lively.
Gemini tiredly clambered hastily from her gunboat. She really didn't feel like returning back to that black void of space. She stretched her aching muscles from its stiffness lazily.
"Guess you are tired," said a voice that was now very familiar to her.
"I will be honest Hunter, I am not really good at flying" replied Gemini as she leaned against her assigned, once shining gunboat, her warm face didn't complain at the cool surface it greeted.
"I noticed, you weren't that sharp on your flying, a couple of training simulation ought to clear that up though" said Hunter dryly, and almost bored.
Gemini scowled at Hunter rubbing it in, and playfully punched him on the arm before she walked away to get some water. Hunter's eyes widened slightly in surprise at Gemini's friendly gesture.

Well, she is definitely getting adapted to this place at last noted Hunter to himself as he followed her disappearing figure also thirsting for something to drink. He however stopped in his tracks as the last of the gunboats landed. A few minutes later, the energetic figure of Geth could be seen jumping to the ground, eager for more action. Hunter watched as Geth immediately set him-self to work on repairing his ship and reloading.

Gemini gazed myopically at the gunboat she clung to for dear life earlier. She had to reload and repair that even if she didn't know how?
She sprung back to reality as a hand waved in front of her face. She turned around hastily to find her self-looking directly to her squadron leader Jaden.
"No use, just staring at it you know, get to work," ordered Jaden sharply, he turned on his heel and started walking back to his own ship, to continue the repairing.
Where is the damn manual?

Gemini fumbled around with her ships not really having a clue what she was doing, and here was now way she was going to ask anyone for help. She simply had to much pride for that.
"Where is the Kaph and Nazgul Squadrons at the moment?" asked Gemini to Geth as he passes.
"The TIE ships went a different hanger, why?"
"Just wanted to know," answered Gemini absentminded, she wanted to thank Demonic for saving her skin a few hours earlier. She slammed the small door of her wire box shut, and slid back quickly in her seat, ready for duty again. Jaden seemed irritated with the pilot's slow repairing and reloading.

"Guys, make it quick, seems the remaining ships and interceptors have run into a few x-wings, maybe we can help out" said Jaden worriedly as he adjusted the setting on his ComLink, just encase he heard wrong.

Trevor floated his TIE around what used to be the engine of a Y-wing. What destruction. Almost makes me feel sorry for these guys. Hell, I might have flown with them before, Back before I left the rebels.. He thought to himself, reminding himself of Reaper and the rest of the late Hussar squadren.

He turned to the right to keep up with his patrol group, and saw the entire hull of a X-wing fighter. He looked closely at a design near the cockpit, and remembered it from somwhere.

He remembered himself in the cockpit of his Y-wing, fighting pirates with the Hussars again.

'Reaper, stay close to me and Szar, we`re going to cover Taquerias two, three, and five. They`re going to make the run on the pirate freigter, and we`re going to give support fire.' He said into his comm quickly.

'Acknowledged Ace.' Reaper replied, and pulled his Y-wing closer to the two others.

They dropped in behind the three X-wings and stuck as close as they could.  They sped along the surface of the freigter, and were fired at by the small cannons and pirate starfighters coming from the front and back. Infront of Trevor one of the X-wings exploded, and the hull came right at him. Before diving under, He saw a design on the hull, and then he dove underneither it, seconds before it would have hit him dead on.

Thats where he had seen it before. These were some of the great men and women of the Taquerias squadren, a squad he had flown with for around a year.

He was shaken out of his memory by the loud sound of his comm.

"Sting 3, get back in formation now. If you see somthing, let us know. Dont go and try to take things alone. Your still new here." Somone barked at him through the comm.

"Yes sir." He acknoledged, making a sharp left and getting back into formation.

[ooc: finally getting enough time to make a decent story post. man, i had to spend about and hour just reading all the posts. /ooc]

"Kaph squadron, this is Captain Falensarano, our long range sensors are picking up multiple hostile targets. Deathseeds by the looks of it, from a near by system. Engage them at their exit vecotrs once they're out of hyperspace. transferring data now."

Will watched as data of the Deathseeds' exit vectors flowed through his screen. "All right Flight two, here we go."

"Sir, what are Deathseeds?" Demonic asked.

"Deathseeds are one of the more superior Uglies that the NR uses. They are the combination of the body of a Tie Fighter and the Stabalizer Foils of the X-wings. They use the laser on the tip of the S-foils and the lasers under the Tie cockpits are refitted with missile launchers. And as you guys can see, they are hyperspace capable. With shields too. It kind of makes me wonder how a near by system got their hands on these things, they don't normally come cheap." Will replied to Demonic over the squadron frequency so the whole squadron will not be asking the same question.

"Ok, get into formation," Denethor, Commander of the first Navy fighter squadron, order his commrades, "They're almost here. Five...Four...Three...Two...One...Engage!"

Will pushed his throttle to full as a squadron of Deathseeds reverted to realspace. The dogfight between the two squadrons quickly got into a nasty fight as lasers flew everywhere. Will bounced around as he picked up a Deathseed on his tail. Transffering some energy from the forward shields to the aft shields, Will concentrated on evading the Ugly. Will twisted to the left and pulled the stick twards his chest at the same time cutting his trottle to make a really tight dive, then increasing the throttle once he was out of the turn. The Deathseed over shot him, and looped up as Will dropped in after him from his climb after the dive. Will switched to dual fire and triggered twice. The first two shots missed as they shot between the s-foils, but the other two hit dead on as one pierced the cockpit and the other sheared off one of the
stabalizers, sending the craft into a wild spin. Will didn't bother to look to see if the fighter had exploded, there was no need to. Without the stabalizer, there's no way the pilot could get the fighter back under control again. Might as well let him suffer the slow death in space as he deserves it.

Will moved on to find himself another target. Then his Com was filled by Earthjedi's voice. "Someone get this thing off of me, I can't shake it. Oh, no, it's got a lock on me!"

"On my way." Will answered as he saw Earth trying to evade an Deathseed not far from him. "Ok, Earth, here's what you'll do, bring him towards me, and on my mark break to port."

"Roger."

Will flew in towards the two fighters at a slight angle, and got a target lock on the Deathseed. "Break now!" Will ordered, as Earth immediatly pulled left, and will opened fire with his four lazer cannons. Only one hit, but it was damned good hit. The fighter started to weave around towards the Coruscant as if it was trying to evade unseen fire. Will knew exactly what had happened. The shot had shot through the entry hatch killed the pilot and out the bottom. "Kaph 5 to Coruscant."

"This is Coruscant, is there any problem?"

"No, I just have a request to make. We have an unmanned Ugly out here. See if you could get a tractor beam on it and get it in. It's mostly intact, the shot that killed the pilot was through and through. We could use it for parts, or use a fighter like it."

"Good point, I'll notify the others so they dont shoot it by accident." The Captain of the Coruscant said.

Will watched as the fighter straightened its path and drifted ever closer towards the Coruscant.

"Thanks Will, thanks for saving my life once again." Earth said through a private channle.

"No problem, that's what squadron mates are for, we look out for each other. And now, lets get some more of them." Will replied with a toothy grin on his face.

Pretty soon, only three Deathseeds were left. "Scout, Linda, head over and cut them off, incase they try to jump to lightspeed again." Denethor order the only two members of the third flight.

"Affirmative." Scout and Linda acknowledged in unison.

"Guys let's finished these things off." As the whole squadron closed in on the three lone Deathseeds, their pilots panicked. They scrambled in three different directions. As they did so, they each picked up two Interceptor on their tails. Although the Deathseeds are better than most other Uglies, the Tie Interceptors are still faster and more manuevrable.

"Demonic, cover me and the left side of that Ugly." Will said as he went in for his thrid kill. He pushed his throttle to full again and swung and big arc to the right of the Deathseed. The pilot in the Deathseed saw will approching from the right and closing in fast thought he was trying to cut him off, so he reacted by pulling to the left, right into Demonic's line of
fire. "Get him Demonic, go for it."

Demonic triggered a series of green laser bolts at the remaining Ugly, the shots lit up the fighter into a fireball as fire erupted from and engine and engulfed the fighter.

"Nice shot Kaph 7."

"Couldn't have done it without you."

Two more explosions sounded in the area, and Will knew that the other two Uglies had also been vaped.

"Alright Kaph, we've had quite enough actions for now, lets head back to the Coruscant and get our fighters back into fighting conditions again." Den said as he led the group of nine Tie Interceptors back toward their base.

***Earlier***

Art broke off from the scattered remains of the X-Wing squadron and raced towards the new threat posed by the Y-Wings.  He looked around but didn't see Shazam anywhere.  He was now alone.  As was Shazam, something that worried him as repeated attempts to contact Nazgul 1 had failed.  He had caught a visual of the fighter at one point and saw it manouvering, a positive sign that he was indeed still alive.

Art picked his way through the turbolaser fire of the capital ships and the scattered missiles flying to and fro towards their intended targets.  Even though the rebel force had been beaten back to an extent, there was plenty of danger still lurking out there.  Art increased the throttle and dove down towards one of the flights of Y-Wings.  He managed to cripple the shields of the lead one before the flight broke off in pairs to engage.  Art pulled up and looped around, managing to fire a burst at one of them as he blew past.  The speed an agility of the Interceptor made it easy to get hits in on the fly but made him a sitting duck for the Y-Wings if they got in behind him before he could manouver.

Using another combination of manouvers that Art had practiced hundreds of times in the simulators, he managed to swing around two of the Y-Wings and found himself with an open shot at the underbelly of the one he initially hit.  Two quick quad bursts later and all that remained was a fireball of debris.  Seeing himself in a difficult position, Art dove down towards one of the corvettes, careful to avoid its fire as he did.  The lead Y-wing behind him, however, lacked the speed to repeat the manouver and was struck head on by the corvette's top turbolaser.  The debris slammed into the corvette's shields and the corvette shifted slightly, Art didn' want to think what it felt like inside there at the moment.

Raddon was also by himself trying to engage the Y-Wings though with limited success as he spent more time evading then attempting to fire.  While they were greatly outnumbered, keeping the Y-Wings' focus on them rather than the corvettes meant that the rebel fighters were leaving themselves open to fire from the capital ships.  Slowly the number began to decrease.  Nine fighters left.  An explosion later from a burst of Art's guns dropped the number to eight.  Within five minutes the number had fallen to five as the gunners on the corvettes concentrated their fire in intense salvos that made it possibly for the slow, sluggish Y-Wings to evade.

"Nazgul 3, close in on my position and move to engage the lead of the cargo ships.  Target any rebel fighters between us and those freighters."  Art ordered.  He swung his interceptor hard to the right and charged in on the lead freighter at full speed.  Just as he was in range, Art was rocked to one side of his cockpit as his interceptor was flung through space as if punched by a giant fist.  His shields had collapsed completely and warning sirens were going off about damage to one of the interceptor's engines.  "What the hell was that?!?"  Art exclaimed over the main frequency.  He looked out at the convoy and saw the ships explode one by one.  "Nazgul 3 pull out, I repeat pull out!  The rebel ships are self-destructing!"  Art ordered.  He couldn't see what happened to Raddon's interceptor, however.  His view was filled by the firey explosions of the convoy.  A moment later, Captain Falensarano informed the taskforce of what appeared to be happening.  Dammit!  Art thought to himself, seeing that a possible total victory might have just been prevented.  I didn't realize the rebels had the guts anymore to die like that for a cause. He thought to himself.

Recognizing that the battle was nearly over and he and the rest of the squadron were in bad need of repairs, Art turned slowly towards the Coruscant and his interceptor slowly limped towards the flagship.  "Nazgul squadron form up and prepare to dock.  Kaph squadron has the uglies under control.  All nazguls report in."  Art instructed.  He looked around and saw that Shazam had almost reached the Coruscant already.  "Nazgul 1 is standing by but has no radio contact."  Art informed the squadron.  "All other nazguls report in."

"Nazgul 9 standing by."  Jen replied.

"Nazgul 11 standing by." Darius called.

"Nazgul 5 standing by."  Jack responded.  Art kept count in his head as the squadron slowly replied to his call.  Aside from Omulis who was already dead, Raddon hadn't replied.

"Nazgul 2 to Nazgul 3, Raddon report in."  Art instructured.  The frequency was dead as everyone waited for Raddon to report in.  "Nazgul 2 to Nazgul squadron, does anyone see Nazgul 3?  His transmitter isn't showing up on my scope but it could be out or my scope could be damaged."  Art said.  Again nothing.  The squadron members slowly replied that they did not have a visual or a reading on Raddon's fighter.

"Where did you last see him?"  Jen inquired.

"He was heading in fast to engage the freighters..."  Art replied, his voice trailing off at the end as he realized what happened to Raddon.  "He must not have gotten out in time."  He stated.  The squadron reacted with silence, it was the second death sustained by the squadron on this mission, certainly not what was anticipated when the mission began.

***Fifteen Minutes Later***

By the time all of Nazgul had docked in the hanger, the rest of the fighters were making their way back as well.  After destroying the uglies, Kaph squadron met up with Sting squadron to destroy the emergency buoys dropped when the cargo ships self-destructed.  It had taken them far too long to get them all, however.  Odds are the rebels are alerted by now.  Art thought to himself as he listened to the chatter on the main frequency.  Finally, he shut down the systems and climbed out of the fighter.  When he dropped down to the floor, he immediately noticed that the fighter was smoking on its righter side, the structural damage was quite extensive.

After directing a mechanic to what needed immediately fixing, Art made his way over and met up with Shazam.  Shazam was limping slightly, his knee had slammed into the control panel when his fighter was hit.

"I just got off the comm with the Captain."  Shazam said as they walked towards the temporary holding area for the pilots.  "They are dispatching teams to collect the debris for analysis. Their hope is that they will be able to ascertain where the convoy came from based upon their computer records.  Now we just need to cross our fingers and hope there is a harddrive for a hyperspace computer somewhere in that debris field that is intact."  He continued as the two officers walked into the temporary lounge.  Both were very thirsty and had perspired profusely fromthe intensity of the battle.  Grabbing three bottles of water each, they sat down in the corner to go over what had happened and quietly salute the two men they had lost.

The rest of the squadron filled in slowly followed soon by Kaph, Aegis, and Sting.

"Alright, the Captain has instructed us all to relax but be on stand by while the crews search the debris.  The mechanics are working on your fighters, most of the major repairs will be done over the next little while."  Sk8guy instructed.  "One final announcement.  Trevor Evensen, due to your excellent performance out there, you are now assigned to flight one of Nazgul."  He continued.  "In addition, Bob Builder has also distinguished himself in Sting and is being transferred to Kaph Squadron.  You gentlemen are in good hands, good luck pilots."  Sk8guy finished.  Trevor and Bob stood up and saluted.  A quick goodbye handshake sealed the end of his time in Sting squadron.

Art and Shaz made their way over to welcome the pilot.  It was time to relax for a while, another battle was soon approaching.

After Nazgul Squadron was done at the debriefing, Senior Chief Petty Officer Jack Nebulax quickly walked out and found a nice private spot to be. He now needed the time to be alone, and to do one secret thing.

First of all, he quickly accessed the holo image of his wife, Alexia Far'shadow-Nebulax, from his mechanical super battle droid right arm's databank. He hadn't access it since the start of the battle. He stared at it for a few moments, before pulling out his comlink.

It was time to let his wife know that her husband survived intact from yet another battle.

Suddenly, a voice came over the comlink. "Jack, is that you?" Alexia's voice asked, excitedly. Jack decided to wait for a moment to see how she would react. "Jack? Jack?" she asked, repeating the name. Finally, as she said the name one last time, Jack broke the silence on the other end.

"I love you."

"Jack, you idiot flyboy!" Alexia replied, both somewhat angry and mostly happy. She laughed for a moment, before saying, "So how was the battle?"

"Well, Phase One was a success," Jack reported. "Nazgul lost two members, but we gained one not that long ago. We're preparing for Phase Two."

"How long will that take?" Alexia asked, referring to Phase 2.

"Well, unfortunately, it will take longer than Phase One," Jack replied. "But don't worry, I'll be home."

"I love you, you hotshot flyboy. Stay alive for me, will you? And don't try that trick again with the comm silence," Alexia said.

Then, responding in order, Jack said, "I love you, too. And I will stay alive. And I won't try that trick again, I'll just have to think of something better. I guess I'll see you later, then."

"I miss you a lot," Alexia replied. "And there's one thing I'll have to tell you later."

"What?" Jack asked.

"I promise I'll tell you later."

"Okay," Jack replied. "But make sure you tell me." They were not joking around anymore.

"Well, then, I'll talk to you soon, hopefully," Alexia replied. "I love you."

"I love you, too. I'll be back as soon as I can."

"Bye, Jack." And then both comms were shut off.

Jack Nebulax slowly went back into the world of his job as a fighter pilot for the Vast Empire.

After being introduced to his superiours, Trevor shook hands with Sk8guy and watched him leave.Once Sk8guy had left the room, Trevor walked accross the room and sat down at a table in the corner, well away from almost everyone else. He looked around the room, and saw pilots playing cards, talking, eating, or just sitting there.

Wow, it feels..wierd to be in a room with so many imperial pilots, seeing as at one point in time i was a Rebel pilot. O well, it doesnt matter anymore, that was years ago. I`m an Imperial now. He thought to himself, looking around the room again.

He took his duffle bag out and pulled out his flight helmet, The big black one that was standard issue for Imperial TIE pilots. He set it on the table and dug around in his duffle bag some more, until he pulled out a small set of paints and a brush. He un-capped a jar of white paint, put some on his brush, and proceded to paint a small 'H' on the back of his helmet. Then he took the jar of blue paint, dipped his brush in it, and painted a small 'N' underneither the 'H' on the back of his helmet.

He put away his paints and left his helmet out to dry. Looking around the room once more, He put his head down on his duffle bag and closed his eyes, knowing in a short amount of time he would be awoken by somone of his new squadren.

Everybody in Nazgul was welcoming the new pilot but Darius.  He was busy replacing his com module and telling the mechanics that they weren't doing their job correctly.

When the pilot finished his inspection, his eye caught Corwin.  "We need to talk buddy!" he yelled and pointed across the hanger.  The frustrated Nazgul briskly walked over to the less experienced pilot and grabbed him, almost throwing him backwards.  Corwin managed to stay on his feet barely.

"If you ever pull any stunt like you did out their again, I will make you regret it!" continued Darius.  "You almost got me killed!"  By this time, the looks and muttering were dying down in the hanger.  Nobody had ever seen Darius act like this.  It was absolutely unknown.

Shazam and Arturus were about to intervene, but Darius disengaged and went to get some water.  Corwin spoke, "you don't have to get so angry man, I was just having fun."

What Darius did next made Shazam and Art back away from the two men quickly.  Both of Darius hands were just centimeters from his duel DL-44's strapped low on his upper legs, just above the knees.  He then spoke in a low, emotionless voice, "I'm not angry, but serious.  And fun is for spare time on the simulators, not on my wing in the heat of battle."  He continued to walk and got five bottles of water and chugged them all very quickly.

Art and Shazam walked over to the mechanics that were checking over the Nazgul fighters.

"What's the status Chief?"  Shazam asked the mechanic coordinating the effort.

"Well out of the ten interceptors you need, five are decent shape, three are moderately damaged but repairable in the time frame, and two are write-offs."  The mechanic reported.

"Which two?"  Art asked.

"Yours."  The mechanic pointed to Shazam, "and Aldur's."  He replied.  "We might be able to get one fixed but certainly not both."

"I didn't think Aldur took much damage..."  Shazam said thinking back to the mission.

"On the surface it looked fine but it appears that he got hit by something that caused temperatures much higher than normal to pass through his electrical systems.  It may have created momentary blips in the performance of the Interceptor's systems but we cannot certify it to fly until we re-wire most of it."  The mechanic explained.

"Alright thank you."  Shazam said before turning to leave the hanger with Art.

"Do we scrub Aldur?"  Art asked.

"Unfortunately we have no choice."  Shazam said rather dejectedly.  Aldur had talent and he was improving with every mission, the experience was clearly helping him.  When Shazam and Art relayed the news to him, he attempted to hide his disappointment but it was clear that he, like any other pilot, didn't want to miss out on the action.

***Twenty minutes Later***

Art was jolted out of his nap by a loud buzzer in the area that had been created for the pilots to relax.

"Briefing time!"  Shazam called to his squadron.

"Are we in hyperspace yet?"  Art asked groggily as he stretched and slowly climbed off of the two chairs that he had made into a makeshift, and uncomfortable bed.

"We left fifteen minutes ago.  We will be at the rendezvous point shortly.  I think the Captain wants us ready to go before we leave the rendezvous point for our target."  Shazam said.

The squadrons made their way into the briefing room and in two minutes were assembled infront of Captain Falensarano for the briefing.

"Thank you for coming so quickly ladies and gentlemen," the captain began, "I hope you managed to relax and get some fluids into you, because this next part will take a while."  He said, before turning on the holoprojector to begin the briefing.  "Out of the salvaged material from the wreckage, we managed to discern the coordinates that the rebel convoy departed from.  We are not sure that this system actually holds the facility but two characteristics of it lead us to suspect that it is our target.  The third planet in the tight cluster of the Ghieswa system, known as Ghieswa III, is reasonably remote and unknown.  In addition, Ghieswa III is hospitable to life though not much is known about the lifeforms on the planet.  We do know that the planet is mostly mountainous, making it easy to hide a facility and to defend it from fighter attack or direct bombardment.  Therefore, unless the rebels are playing mental games with us, which I doubt, this should be the real thing."  The Captain said confidently.  "We will arrive near Ghieswa III in two hours.  However, due to the possible threat of the new rebel anti-capital ship batteries being operational, the taskforce will be approaching with caution and will stay out of range.  You will deploy and descend into the atmosphere and immediately break out into your squadrons to begin searching for the facility.  We will be sending three shuttles with you that are being equipped with strong scanners and they will assist you.  Once you find the facility, radio the location to the taskforce but do not engage.  Pull back to a rendezvous point we will set and wait for the others.  If the rebels send out fighters to engage you, lead them towards the rendezvous and radio that in to the others.  We should be able to surprise their lead fighters and knock them out.  Once we are assembled, the assault gunboats will make the assault on the facility.  You will likely have to manouver around the mountains so it will require absolute precision in order to get into position to fire.  Nazgul squadron will be responsible for escorting the assault gunboats while Kaph squadron will be responsible for any gun batteries and fighters they find.  Aegis squadron: be sure to conserve your missiles and only fire when you can hit your target.  You will likely need to make several attacks on the facility in order to knock it out.  Once the battle begins, the shuttles will sneak in towardsthe facility and attempt to scan for the power generators.  If we find those, Kaph and Nazgul squadron will be ordered to destroy them in order to cripple the defences and make your attack easier."  The captain said before switching off the holoprojector.  "Our intel is non-existent on this one and orders will be spontaneous as the situation evolves.  Unfortunately this is the best we can do.  I must emphasize, however, that you performed brilliantly in the last battle and show you can react when the situation is not as was expected.  I have every confidence you are capable of completing this mission.  Any questions?"  The captain asked.  Quickly looking around the room.  "Alright good, if you have any later your squadron leaders will answer.  Dismissed!"  He ordered.

Shortly after the Phase Two briefing, Senior Chief Petty Officer Jack Nebulax, the Nazgul Flight Two Leader and former Squadron XO of the same squadron, headed back for his room while the ship was in hyperspace. He probally didn't have much time left, but he wanted to spend some time alone for a minute.

Deciding to get some rest once he walked into his quarters, he laid down on his cot for a moment to think over the preivous battle and the upcoming one as well. He would try his hardest to regain his strength like he had that day he found out he was Nazgul's new Executive Officer. Sure, in the end, he had failed his duties in the position, but now, he thought, if he could try harder, that position might get offered back to him in the future, or perhaps something even better.

Thinking over the upcoming battle was hard, even for an experienced pilot who believed in the Force, even if he couldn't harness it. There was no way to tell how many opponents would be waiting, or how hard the mission would be. But in the end, he knew what would happen.

The Vast Empire's Imperial Navy would beat those New Republic pilots. He could almost feel it. Victory would belong to the Vast Empire this day, and the Navy's squadrons would also triumph. He almost felt like speaking out these very things he thought.

I'll save it for my battle cry, he thought to himself.

Finally, once he felt ready, he got up and gathered his gear. Today, he would emerge victoriously alongside his commrades. Finally, as he made sure everything was in order, he opened the door and walked out, headed for the hangar bay - and victory.

After the breifing Trevor walked straight to The squadrens` Assigned area. When he arrived, there was hardly anyone there. There were two pilots playing a game of Sabbacc, and one pilot who appeared to be sleeping calmly on one of the tables.

He weaved his way between tables and chairs until he had walked accross the room and was in his corner, and pulled his flightsuit out of his bag.

This looks nothing like my old suit, but i guess the conditions in a TIE are different from that in a X-wing. He thought to himself. When he realized that the thought sounded like he wanted to be back with the rebels, He immediatly pushed it out of his mind, and shoved the flight suit back in his duffle bag. He gathered all his things off the table, his paints and helmet, and put them in the dufflebag too.

Zipping his bag as he stood up, He swung it over his shoulder and walked towards the hang bay.

"We`re going to win today, and We`re going to destroy many NR pilots." He said to himself, Smiling as he remember his times with Reaper after they had left the rebellion.

When he arrived at the bay, he made his way towards one of the walls, and sat down, resting his back against it. Normally he would go and tell the techs how to fix this or that on his fighter, but because he had returned from scouting in perfect condition, nothing needed fixing.

He tried to relax himself for the upcoming battle, and waited for the rest of the pilots to arrive.

Chip sighed, as he shuffled through personnel files on his data pad. He needed to find a replacement for Jaden as squadron XO, and quickly. Jaden's recall to some other assignment couldn't have come at a worse time. Dang, this was probably going to eat up any free time Chip might have had. He wasn't even going to have time to hit the refresher booth. Of course, he'd have to use the booth again after the second battle, but it just felt nice to use it after each fight. Refreshing. Hmm, probably why the called it a "refresher booth" to begin with.

Chip sat back and took another sip of his citrus soda. It would have been nice to have had a slightly longer break in between battles. He just had too much to think about. The pain in his heart hadn't been as bad lately, though she was never far from his mind. In a way, Chip almost looked forward to his own death; the sooner the Lord called him up, the sooner he'd see Sarah...

But he was supposed to be looking at personnel files, not remembering his reason for joining the Vast Empire. It seemed so long ago, and yet it really wasn't. Humph. Well, back to work. No, not that pilot. Too new. Dang, there really wasn't anyone with much experience. Maybe this one? Hmm, maybe. Well. Chip would just have to see...

Will rubbed his eyes, god he was tired. hmm, we have two hours before we reach our destination and lauch, maybe I can get some rest in that time period. He stood up from the cushioned chairs of the breifing room and left for his quaters.

He was just about to step into the room when Scout called: "Will!" Jogging a little to reach him so that he doesn't have to yell over the distance, "We've got a problem with your fighter."

This must be my unlucky day. Will thought to himself. I was just planning to get some rest, and something else pops up. "What's wrong with it?"

"Man, you took more damage than you thought. Your port solar panels are non-functional. Appearantly, a bolt scrached your wing pylon, and the solar panels can no longer transfer any power to increase your firing rate anymore."

"Can't you get a tech to replace it?"

"Yes, but that's going to take longer than the amount of time we have."

"Well, I guess I'll just have to deal with it when I fly later, won't I?"

"We could, however, give you Koth's fighter."

"What 'bout him? What will he fly?" Will asked demandingly at the offer of being offered a fellow squadron member's fighter.

"Sir, Eeth Koth has been moved to another unit right after he came back from that last battle. He is no longer with us, which means we're another pilot short."

"Why wasn't I notified? And sure I'll take his fighter, but how is its condition?"

"It's in better condition than your's, Sir, and the technicians said that they'll be able to get it to near new conditions before we launch for our next mission. And the reason that you weren't notified earlier of Koth's removal is probably because Commander Denethor hasn't gotten around to tell you about it yet. I just found out when I was talking to other pilots in the hanger after the debreif."

"Very well. I'll be there about half an hour before launch to check it over. Now, would you please let me get some rest before I fall dead asleep here?" Will said impatiently, more of a command than question.

"Yes, Sir! I'll leave you to it then." Scout saluted before turning around and walking away.

Will walked into his room, set his datapad to alarm him in an hour, and fell asleep on his bed before he could get out of his flight suit.

(OOC: Sorry I haven't posted in a while been busy busy IRL.  But hopefully this post will make up for my absence ^_^)

* * * Earlier * * *

The Deathseeds were tough.  Whipping around, she lost sight of Scout as she tried to save her own skin.  The S-foils of the DSs rotated, meaning the pilot could pump a continuous line of fire at a target.  Flying around was getting her nowhere fast, and she needed some way to take them down.  She grabbed her throttle and slammed her foot down on the etheric rudder, spinning her nimble little fighter around and avoiding the shots from one fighter, and nearly collided with the second.  The third was pursuing Scout, and it was fairly easy to drop in on his tail and pump lasers into his rear shields.

Her missile lock alarm screamed at her, and a quick glance in her rear scopes indicated two missiles flying straight for her.  She inverted and dived quickly, since pulling on the stick was far easier than pushing on it.  The first missile stayed on target, but the second one lost it's target lock and instead reaquired it on Scout's pursuit.  The missile connected before the pilot could evade.

Missiles were generally mostly rocket with a small warhead.  This made them alot faster than even a TIE, and their only weakness was they couldn't turn as quickly.  She snap-rolled out of the way, just barely missing the missile, but the proximity detonator blew the missile anyway, overloading her shields.  The remaining Deathseed shot at her now vulnerable craft, holing her port wing.  Before he could line up another shot, he came under Scout's guns, and was destroyed.

"Thanks Scout" with all targets eliminated, she turned her little fighter back towards the Coruscant, fighting the controls to keep it flying in a straight line.  When she landed, she had to force herself to let go of the control stick, her hands shaking.  Once the hatch popped, she climbed out, managed to peel off her helmet, and collapse on the floor.  She vomited just before passing out.

* * * Later * * *

Walking out of the briefing room, she had some time to think about her encounter with the Deathseeds, the A-wings, and the Y-wings.  Most of the training one got in flight school was a combination of flight maneuvers and alot of propoganda.  She didn't mind, but flying a simulator wasn't quite the same as flying against the real thing.  Pilots acted differantly, no matter how well programmed the AI was.

The medics had given her water and checked her out before signing off and letting her return to duty.  The first fight was always the roughest, though the others didn't get much easier.  The only real damage to her ship was the port wing, which was easily replaced, so her ship was atleast mission ready.  The other pilots were certainly enjoying themselves, but she spent her time alone, only sipping some water and sleeping.  She wondered if she'd ever be able to just kick back and relax, like the others, or wether she'd be one of those that silently cracked under the strain until finally their minds shattered in a fight and they spun out of control.

"Aegis Squadron" Yoshi thought to himself as he left the office of the Imperial Navy's training officer, Captain Sk8guy. The new pilot had also just been given the same briefing as the rest of the pilots.

The senior crewman's footsteps echoed down the somewhat deserted hallways as he made his way towards Ageis' quarters, where he would hopefully find the rest of his Squadronmates.

Many thoughts were running through Yoshi's mind. This will not be the first time he had ever been in space combat, but it was never anything as large scaled and well planned out as this. He would have many allies to rely on and help. He would have even more enemies to watch out for. Compared to the small skirmishes he had during his smuggling days, such a large scale battle seemed nearly like suicicde.

The echoing footsteps stopped as Yoshi stopped in front of the door he was looking for. He punched in a couple of numbers on the key pad and the door slid open, revealing a handful of pilots lounging around. One of the heads that swung around raised from his seat and walked up to the new pilot.

"Hello Yoshi," the man began, "I am Chip, your squadron commander. I was just notified of your being assigned to this squad. I'm glad about it, we could use some more newish blood. Welcome Aboard"

"Thank you." Yoshi answered, shaking the outstretched hand.

"Here, I'll get you introduced to the rest of the crew..."

After getting fully rested and prepared for the upcoming mission, Jack decided it was time to do a quick simulator run. Gathering his gear, he opened the door and got out of his quarters on board the ship. Heading toward the simulators, he saw plenty of new faces.

Mostly new recruits, probally, Jack said to himself. Nowadays, Nazgul Squadron needed the best of the best. There weren't that many pilots in Nazgul now, it seemed. But surely, soon Nazgul would get a fresh batch of new pilots ready for anything.

As he got into the simulator, he hooked up and set it for one TIE - his fighter - to go up against two squadrons of X-wings, the preferable New Republic fighter craft.

As the simulator began, the X-wings flew toward his fighter in V-formations of four each, making six total V's. When he was in perfect rage, he let out a round of blaster bolts at the closest enemy starfighter. The green bolts penetrated the shields, but the craft still remained operational.

Quickly letting more bolts loose, he was able to destroy the X-wing and critically damage another nearby one. The severely damaged fighter spun out of control until it winked out on Jack's display.

Soon, seven more X-wings were blow to bits, pieces of non-existant space debris flying by the "cockpit" of the TIE.

"Nine down, plenty more to go," Jack said.

Soon, he was able to destroy four more. Now, one full squadron was gone with a tiny dent in the other. But then, the fighters did an unexpected move - they all broke formation and now four fighters were in front of him, three in back, and the rest of them coming from the side.

This reminded Jack of his time in the Auroran Defense Fleet in the years before he joined the Vast Empire. He had been trapped like this once before, and was forced to sacrifice his first TIE Defender. All ADF fighters were equiped with a last-defense mechanism - a self-destruct button.

When pressed, the button caused the pilot to eject and gave a five-second countdown from the moment the pilot was out of the fighter. In these short five seconds, the pilot had to steer his "command couch", as they called it, away from the fighter. Once the countdown was over, the fighter would blow up, leaving the nearby fighters either destroyed or seriously damaged.

Jack's hand now rested in the spot where the button would have been. This reminded him of his experiences. And, in the non-existant TIE cockpit in the non-existant space with non-existant enemies, it was here where Jack saw his last thing before he "died" - the X-wing coming straight to him.

As the simulator ended, Jack steped out and left the room, headed for the docking bay. He was ready, no matter what would happen.

Darius sat in the corner of the hanger.  He was now rested and had a eaten a great amount of food.  Now, he was looking at a datapad, shopping for a brand new YT-2400 Corellian freighter.  He couldn't afford one now, but he would in time.

Back in his mercenary days, when he was against the Empire, his father had one.  When his father died on Tatooine, he was unable to take it with him when he left the planet, the Imperial garrison on the planet confiscated it and sold it for scrap.

When Darius did get his, he'd completely overhaul it to the state-of-the-art specs of the day.  He was a good mechanic.  He could fix anything and then some.

When he was younger, he'd use to dismantle his old Z-95 headhunter piece by piece and rebuild it better than it was before every time.  He's done that with the TIE his owns now.  Not many of its kind can match the modifications Darius has done to it.  Especially the targetting system.

Jen interupted his daydream, "hey Dar, we've gotta couple new recruits.  Shazam and Art want the whole squadron the meet them."

"Alright," replied Darius.  He slowly stood up from his seat and stretch out a couple tight muscles before following Jen.  New victims thought Darius, trying to imagine the looks on the noobs faces when he walked in the room carrying enough weapons to take over a NR Star Destroyer.

Heading toward the hangar of the Coruscant, Jack bumped into one of Nazgul's new recruits: Gladius. Finally, Flight Two of the squadron now had another Flight Member, bringing it up to three Flight Two members. This was good, as it showed a slight increase in activity.

"Sorry, sir," the new recruit said. "You're my Flight Leader, right?" Gladius asked.

"Yes, I'm Jack Nebulax. But feel free to call me 'Jack'," he replied, as he invited the recruit to walk with him towards the hangar bay.

Suddenly, there was a buzz on Jack's comlink. A message played saying, "Hello, you are now the proud owner of two sets of ARC trooper armor. Thanks for visiting the Imperial Center Store." Then the message cut off.

"Finally, my ARC trooper armor has arrived," Jack said happily.

"ARC trooper armor?" Gladius asked. "Why do you need that? You're a pilot."

"I have a hobby of collecting Clone Wars-era items, ever since the Battle of Thyferra," Jack replied.

"Why?" Gladius asked.

"Well, during the battle, I was shot down," Jack explained. "I was taken as a prisoner of a clone of a good friend of mine inside a Dreadnaught. Before thise happened, I had a run-in with the locals. They fried my right arm. So, the clone did me a sort-of favor by replacing it with a super battle droid right arm. It still even fires," Jack said, showing Gladius his artificial arm. "So eventually, some of the members of Kaph Squadron at that time launched a rescue team. But the bulk cruiser blasted out of the ground and started to get blown to pieces in the atmosphere. So, I hijacked the clone's shuttle, fled the ship, and just made it out before the hangar became space dust."

"Wow..." Gladius replied.

"Well, let's get ready for the mission. Good luck," Jack said as they reached the docking bay.
