alert lights blinked red as the straship rocked around and jostled bluman out of his sleep.  "what the heck is goin on".  as he jogged through the corridor to the bridge of the corvette Nottoway he undrew his D-15 blaster antiipating boarders.    none were aboard.  once on the bridge he got a report from the navigation officer the nottoway was being attacked by a pirate fleet of two corvettes and a large carrier type craft that kept sending varioust stolen fighters out of hangers. the captian told blueman to sit and hang on as the corette fired turbolasers at the carrier.  most hit their mark and damaged the hull.  the captian then barked "fire two protons at the carrier!". the entire ship lurched back as both torpedos fired.  the bridge went silent as the two protons ripped through space.  the carrier tried evasive action yet both hit the hull and the carrier exploded in a shower of sparks and flames.  hoots went up but quickley subsided as the ship took turbolaser hits from the two remaining corvettes.  having forgotten about them he hesitated in trying to fiqure out what happened.  he then snaped out of it and said fire 1 torpedo each at a corvette then fire turbolasers.
the ship shook violently as the torpedos and turbolasers fired both torpedos hit their targes and one exploded in a shower of fire.  the other was disabled with a huge hole in its hull near were the bridge should be.  all of the sudden the nav officer barked hyperspace signals detected.  as the viewscreen focused on the distant ships the bridge went silent for everbody knew of the inevitable fate of the Nottoway.  as the captain snapped out of his disbelief he called over the shipwide com "abandon ship all personnel abandon ship"
as blueman ran through the corridor with the other officers to the fighter bay he almost fell on top of the captain as a concussion missle hit the ship and sent it pitching around in 0 g .he boarded the fighter and took off from the ship.  as soon as he left the bay he saw bright streaks of light heading towards the Nottaway ripping her apart.  then the Nottaway explode like the 2 other ships and was space dust.  he then checked comms and tried to radio the captian but their was no answer then he realized that he was the first one out of the ship.  the others must have been in the explosion. he let the fighter drift for 30 seconds but the snapped out of it and set hyperspace coordinates to a place he knew he could start a new begining. the home planet of the Vast Empire Navy....
